NEIGHBORHOOD:
We are located in the vibrant and historic neighborhood of Seville Square, located in the heart of Downtown Pensacola. This lively area is home to a variety of events, including the Greater Gulfcoast Arts Festival, the Pensacola Jazz Fest, and the Pensacola Seafood Festival, drawing thousands of visitors each year. MTR Cottage sits in a residential neighborhood, and everyday backdrop sounds such as construction activity and barking dogs may be present during your stay.

But Seville Square is more than just a place for festivals and events. Located just steps from museums, parks, dining, breweries, and retail, there's always something to do in this neighborhood. And with its convenient location just 8 miles north of Pensacola Beach and a short drive to Bruce Beach on Pensacola Bay, you'll have easy access to all the best that the area has to offer.

As a history buff, you'll love the rich history of this neighborhood. Seville Square was originally an 1752 outpost known as San Miguel, and when the British took control of Pensacola, it was laid out as a public square by Elias Dunford in 1764. When the Spanish regained control in 1813, it was designated a public plaza and named for Seville, Spain. Today, the Seville Square Historic District spans more than 100 acres in the urban core of downtown, with a mix of housing types and a focus on beauty and a sense of place.

So if you're looking for a short term cottage rental in a vibrant and historic neighborhood with plenty to see and do, look no further than Seville Square.

AND THERE'S MORE...

Welcome to the MTR Cottage and gardens, a historic and charming hideaway that's basically the best place to be in the Seville Historic District of Downtown Pensacola (we may be slightly biased). Experience the best of downtown living at MTR Cottage - we're within easy walking distance of all the top restaurants, shops, museums, art galleries, and parks - close enough to the happenings for convenience but far enough away for a much-needed respite. Plus, quick and convenient access to the beach. Feeling outdoorsy Step onto the back porch and courtyard. Surrounded by a small orchard of orange trees and a serene fountain, you'll feel like you're a million miles away from the hustle and bustle of everyday life. The place is in honor of Mary Turner Rule, a remarkable leader, visionary and local preservationist.

We are committed to offering a private experience for guests. You get the whole cottage and yard to yourself, with no one else to cramp your style. You'll be just a quick stroll from Seville Square, museums, parks, and breweries, but if you'd rather kick back at home, the back porch is perfect for outdoor dining and enjoying the view of the courtyard and fountain. The cottage gardens provide a tranquil oasis for weary travelers to relax, recharge, and replenish. It's the best of both worlds - close to all the hot spots in town, but also a peaceful hideaway.

The cottage has a simple, graceful design, with all the comforts you need for a restful stay. We had a wonderful stay at this charming cottage! The location is ideal, just a short walk to downtown Pensacola, where we enjoyed exploring the marina, museums, shops, and restaurants. The cottage itself is cozy and well-kept, with a beautifully landscaped yard that's perfect for relaxing. One of our favorite features was its proximity to Seville Square Park, just a block away, which has free EV charging stations—super convenient! Whether you're looking to experience the local attractions or just enjoy some quiet time in the yard, this place is a great find. Highly recommended!

This cute little cottage was perfect for our wedding weekend. Location was great, walking distance to Old Christ Church and all the amenities downtown Pensacola has to offer. With Chuck’s permission, I was able to use this space for my bridal party to get ready for the wedding. All of the natural lighting made it perfect for hair and makeup. We got so many cute pictures in the backyard before heading over to the ceremony. Overall, this was a cute, clean and comfortable space! I may have to return just so I can get a good nights rest on that mattress! I’m so happy we chose Pensacola Cottages for our wedding weekend.

We booked this little cottage because it was historic and we try to stay at historic properties wherever we go. First off, the location is great. Everything is right there and the history is just amazing. The little cottage is clean and very pretty, but it did not FEEL or look historical other than the actual structure. This is (of course) personal preference, and I would encourage you to visit it if you're not as picky as we are. I simply point it out in case someone is like us. ;) The hosting of the cottage got to be a little much. Although I appreciate someone checking in on us, we got both an Email and a text daily. I'm sure this has something to do with our length of stay of 3 days, but it was just too much for our liking. Other than these small details, we enjoyed our stay and would recommend it.

We had such a great stay. Such a great place for the bride to get ready. We even did pictures in the back yard after the ceremony. If you are just relaxing or getting married this is a hidden gem. We will be back.

The cottage was perfect! It had everything we needed. (And many things we didn’t even use) The bed was very comfortable. Great care and planning clearly went into making sure every experience is a great one! We especially appreciated the filtered water, trickling fountain, beautiful yard, rocking chairs, both porches and great location. Thank you to our great host. We will return for sure!

We stayed on Friday and Saturday and could not have asked for a better cottage. It's as beautiful as it looks online, and the neighborhood, although walking distance to all of Seville Quarter, very quiet. It's much larger than anticipated and so well decorated. The bed was, thankfully, comfortable and sheets outstanding. Everything was cleaned to perfection. Check in and out perfect. The owner, Chris, and cohost, Jessica were very helpful and responsive. I asked Chris for a recommendation for nice dinner and jazz band and we took advice and spent Saturday night at the upstairs The District lounge. Awesome jazz band and great food. I would also recommend Five Sisters for a soul food lunch or Sunday brunch with jazz. Great stay. Thanks to Chris and Jessica

I can’t thank you enough for the great week. Everything was perfect! The extra nice touches to acknowledge our anniversary was a wonderful surprise. This home was in the center of the Seville historic district. The kitchen was well equipped, the bed was very comfortable, and morning coffee on the back porch listening to the fountain and watching the birds was the perfect start to each day. Thanks again. I would certainly recommend this beautiful, historic property to others and hope to someday return.
