Welcome to La Perla Roja!! Renovated cozy cottage w/ POOL, laundry & parking in great location, minutes to the SJU & Old San Juan. Walk to Ultimo Trolley beach, Isla Verde beach or Ocean Park beach. Walking distance to Calle Loiza, Isla Verde & Ocean Park amenities. Gated shared courtyard w/ outdoor dining space, hammock & grill. Full AC w/ Wifi & smart TV. NOT A RESORT, intended for the tourist wanting an authentic local experience, not a tourist trap. Come see why I love it!

Dakota is available locally and is happy to provide any support possible. Depending on his availability he might meet with you to welcome you personally if needed - there are coded keypads for any-time access.

If you find something that you would like changed - please let me know ASAP and I will see what I can do. Waiting until you check-out doesn't help you or me.

This is a great little area. 3 blocks to beach.. 1/2 block to a large grocery store with everything you need. 8 blocks to Bargain City / All Ways 99 which have any other specialty items you might need. Typically 10 minutes to Old San Juan / 10 minutes to the airport. The beaches are beautiful and low key.

There are also beach chairs available next to unit 3 available on a first come, first served basis.

Super convenient - equipped as a home - and walkable to all the amenities... my favorite thing about this space is the inviting outdoor courtyard.. Tropical evenings are meant to be enjoyed outside with a drink in hand.

If you’re looking for resort hotels and tourist traps, this space isn’t for you. This home is for the traveler who likes to blend in with the locals and truly experience a culture in its daily rhythms.

Fall asleep to the calls of the coqui frogs and the cricket songs, wake up to the mourning doves and parrots in the nearby trees. Stroll to the beach for a morning swim, after grabbing a quick breakfast and cafe at the local grocer. For lunch, walk over to the bustling Calle Loiza for some amazing local hip cuisine - Or grab some fresh fruit from the corner stand.

As a treat in the evening, a quick drive and a sunset stroll around romantic Old San Juan is always fun, as the ocean breezes wash away the heat of the day - the walk helps to burn the calories from the delicious frozen tropical fruit ice cream that is sold by the street peddlers in the square... You’ll never find ice cream quite like it anywhere else...

For a day of adventure - head to the rain forest, or go caving, or drive through the salt flats to reach Playa Sucia, and some of the best beaches on earth. The experiences on the island are endless!!

Uber is very convenient here. It's best to rent a car for driving around PR. Get the automatic toll included - it makes life much easier.

The only beach essentials included are beach chairs and towels, chairs are located next to yellow house.

NO CHILDREN PERMITTED UNDER THE AGE OF 5, DUE TO OPEN POOL. Pool is 8'wide x 16'long x 5'deep, and is shared with the units.

San Juan is filled with stray cats, lizards and other creatures - you will likely see them in their daily routine. I also have a small 8 pound dachshund - kept in my quarters and separate outdoor space.

Guidebook & WiFi info is provided digitally in your Airbnb reservation details. It is not printed within the home.

This unit comfortably holds 4 people, it can hold a maximum of 6. And while 6 full grown adults have used it and enjoyed their stay, it’s very close quarters.

On average about once a month the power will go out for up to 4 hours. The island power system is still not at full capacity from the hurricane. While I hope this doesn’t happen to you, please let me know if it does. Please leave the fridge closed, and consider going to the mall (Plaza Las Americas) or something else fun on a different power grid if this happens.

*Gay owned and operated establishment, be kind or kindly move along.

I thought I booked a cottage, but it looked more like a motel. It is not the best area and I did not feel safe. The property had a really bad odor so I didn’t stay. I ended up booking elsewhere. The owner did communicate with me very quickly which I did appreciate.

Location was good - quick drive to the airport and a nice park and beach nearby with free parking and bathrooms. The pool was a nice touch.

Cozy, comfortable stay with a great location only minutes away from airport. Did not have time to enjoy the pool as this was a quick one night stay on our way to the other side of the island but the place was charming with plenty of space for relaxing outside

The place was an adequate location for our needs. The pool and patio were nice features along with the friendly cats. The beds were comfortable but the linens were shabby. The kitchen was stocked with many useful left behind items but the small area was a bit cluttered and disorganized. The owner was fairly responsive to our requests.

Host is the BEST. He made our trip awesome, he gave us excellent places for food, entertainment, and anything we asked. He stays in complex. A/C went out he fixed very quickly. Will definately come back just to hang with him in near future.

Our host was wonderful at communication and willing to assist. We were glad we took his excellent recommendations about places nearby to have coffee or breakfast. Our favorite for coffee was Just B Cuz, which was a charming spot with a friendly artist who took us on a tour of her handmade stationary and art where one can even take classes. We are from a small quiet town and arrived at night when many police were out and about (I did not realize at the time that police here seem to always have on their lights). Because of this, the neighborhood seemed a bit sketch when we arrived, but once inside the gate we felt comfortable and safe. During the daytime, everything seemed much better and we were comfortable walking to get breakfast. Overall, the location is very convenient to get to all of the main tourist places in the city. We enjoyed the pool with other guests. The apartment was decent and met our families needs. It was also clean. The towels were quite old and we were glad we brought our own to use. We appreciated having a parking spot close to the entrance gate.Dakota is an amazing host who made us feel welcomed during our first visit to San Juan.

We enjoyed our stay at Perla Roja Guesthouse. It is in a convenient location to explore the Ocean Beach and Isla Verde areas. The home had plenty of space for our family of four. We appreciated the easy walk to grocery store, restaurants and the beach. The host provided excellent communication and very helpful recommendations.
