Absolutely wonderful getaway

Enchanted Woods Waterfront Cottage at Secret Cove is a beautiful, secluded retreat that offers a true sense of peace and quiet. Waking up to nothing but birds singing and a lovely view over the cove made it easy to slow down and fully relax. The setting feels private and tucked away, perfect for a restorative getaway.During my stay, there was a cold spell and some rainy weather, which added to the experience. It was wonderful to keep the real fire burning, listen to the rain, and enjoy some quiet downtime. The cottage is cozy and comfortable, making it an ideal place to unwind and disconnect.The kitchen is well-equipped with everything needed for a short or long stay, making meals easy and convenient.One thing to note is the steps down to the kayak and paddleboard area. They can be a bit slippery when it’s raining, so it’s worth taking extra care. The waterfront access is a great feature, but this is something to keep in mind.Smuggler’s Cove Park is a short drive away and highly recommended. The walk is easy, with stunning coastal views, though there are tree stumps and rocks to navigate once past the newer, maintained walkways around the marsh.Overall, a lovely stay for a single traveler, a couple, or a family with older children seeking a peaceful coastal escape.

This was our second visit, and what we love most about this place is the views, the kayaks, and the woodstove. Be sure, however, to bring your own lighter, tinder/newspaper/fire starter, as this is not provided.The kitchen is very well-stocked with what you need to cook, but be aware that there was no cooking oil, tea (there is a coffee maker and coffee, though!), or sugar. As other guests have noted, be careful when you take the steps down to the dock. One of the flights of stairs is coming loose, and a step is missing from the hut where the paddles and lifejackets are stored. That said, if you are looking for a relaxing and quiet place to rest and recharge, this is it!

The accommodation was clean and well equipped. We felt at home and comfortable, during our stay. This was a perfect quiet getaway to reset and relax, the water and trees made for scenic views from every window and it was a pleasure getting up early to watch the sun rise and start each day.

Gorgeous location and a very welcoming space.

We enjoyed our stay overall. The location is great for enjoying nature and the surroundings, and the amenities in the home were comfortable and as described.There are a few things that could be improved. Some outdoor maintenance seems overdue (beware of the broken staircase descending the cliff), and the kitchen sponge was moldy on arrival. We were also asked to run the dishwasher and laundry ourselves and return dishes, which felt like a lot on top of the cleaning fee.The check in (at 4pm) and check out (10am) time were more restrictive than most places we stay, tho the owner allowed us to extend to 11am after we requested a couple of times.

Great value for money, beautiful location, host is very communicative. This is the perfect place for a quiet get away and was the ideal setting for our annual books and crafts retreat. Thank you Jennifer!

Super cozy, and private home. Location is absolutely stunning! The fireplace was perfect for the holidays and Jennifer was very kind and accommodating!

My family had a wonderful time at Enchanted Woods! The property and surrounding area is absolutely beautiful - even in the winter. Cute downtown areas and parks within 10min drives. We had a slight problem with check-in, but our host was very quick to respond and ensure we were able to get into the property. Our only piece of advice/feedback is that we wished there were a few more basics in the home - cooking oil, coffee filters/easier to use coffee pot, etc. Prepare to bring all the cooking supplies, soaps, etc that you need and you'll love cooking with a view!

Booked for the view it did not disappoint. House was clean and host was great with communication. We plan to come back!

Enchanted Woods is the perfect moniker for this gem of a spot. Gorgeous, private, forested, and right on the water (and even better in person!). The inlet is so calm, ideal for an early morning paddle. The wood stove was a favourite, and the kitchen was a dream: spacious, well-stocked, and great for cooking together. It was dreamy, cozy and quiet - couldn’t ask for a single thing more!Already planning our next stay - can’t wait to return!

We found the cabin to be dirty and the supply cupboard needs to be up dated.There is broken piece of concrete, just about went down.We went to use the BBQ and the propane tank was completely empty.The stove and oven ard very dirty,wasnt able to use them.We did manage to change it with a lot of difficulty. Everything else a good,we really enjoyed the outdoor living space.

Stunning location, and so peaceful. Spacious cottage. Host is great. One upper bedroom is a loft open to the living area below. Some upkeep that needs attention, but everything clean and functioning in the kitchen. Caution required on pathway steps and steps to dock, but host has said they are taking care of that. Lots of towels in bathrooms, but no shampoo or body wash (as noted in the amenities listed), so don't forget to bring your own. No way to start wood fire (bbq lighter out of fuel). Really magical spot, and having the use of the kayaks was terrific - we enjoyed a lovely quick paddle out to Secret Cove. Would love to go back for a longer stay.

Nice property, too far from everything, quite isolated. Very quiet. No pen and matches for fireplace. TV had very few channels.

A lovely spot with gorgeous views from a wraparound deck of the narrow, tidally-variable inlet and an unpopulated and richly-vegetated rock face opposite. The cottage is simple and comfortable, situated in a quiet area. Do note that one of the three bedrooms is somewhat open to the living room and kitchen below.

We had a wonderful stay at this rental. The location was perfect. It was a short drive to all the lakes and Madeira Park for supplies.The view on the deck was awesome and so peaceful. We had access via a dock to a paddle board and 2 kayaks as a little bonus.The kitchen was clean and functional. The BBQ was great for easy dinners while enjoying the view.The bedrooms were comfortable and bathrroms clean.We would recommend this rental.

Simple, basic with magnificent view and access to water and water sports

Our second time staying at this location and it was as good as the first time. Beautiful location and great having the dock for swimming and access to the kayaks and paddleboard which supplied hours of fun for our family. A few small things could be updated/spruced up, newer small appliances in the kitchen such as the coffee maker, smaller couch leather is peeling off, a blanket is layed on it to cover it and one side is sunken in, carpet upstairs has some staining upstairs area and pathway down to the dock could use some landscaping to tame the growing shrubs ect. but overall I highly recommend this property and it doesn't affect enjoying the area and what it offer. Will book again for sure!

Lovely place, good for two couples for a quite getaway

This stay is in a great location, the kayaking is super fun. The house is close to some great nature walks. Close enough to town but far enough away for tranquility. The house itself could use a bit of care and attention. One of the couches is torn, there's not enough wine glasses for six people, the master bedroom could use a better mattress. Other than those few picky things the house is in a great peaceful location.

The house and location were fantastic as was the host. It was great to be able to bring our 2 dogs to such a beautiful place.

We really enjoyed our weekend stay in the enchanted woods. The check-in process was seamless and Jennifer provided a ton of information that was easy to follow. The house itself is perfect for couples or parties of bigger sizes, there’s plenty of space. Use of the kayaks was a lovely treat that was the highlight of the trip. Sechelt is a relatively short trip from the house so plenty to do outside of the property too. Looking forward to coming back in the near future.

We had a wonderful weekend away at this beautiful property. The view from the cottage is stunning, youre right on the water. The place has all the comforts of home and the wood burning heater really adds to the cozy vibes. The property is very quiet and peaceful. Comfortable beds and just a 15-20 minute drive to everything sechelt has to offer. Would definitely visit again!

The property is located right on the water and has stunning views. It was so lovely to wake up every morning and look out at the water - and getting to take a cold dip and run back in for a warm shower.The property itself needs a bit of love - the sofa was ripped up to pieces, the lifejackets were covered in mould and the kitchen was lacking some useful utensils - and some of the ones that were there were dirty. The duvet in one of the rooms had what looked like a (small) blood stain on it.Additionally we had some issues with the heating in one of the rooms -the baseboard heating wouldn't turn off and the room was unbearably hot (I had the window open in January and still couldn't breath from how hot it was). We did flag this to the property owner but were told it had never happened before which was a little frustrating as I barely had any sleep over my stay there (nothing the view and cold dip couldn't fix)All that being said, communication from the host was instant which was really appreciated. We think the property has some amazing potential - just needs a little update but the view and location is something money just cant buy :)

We loved the outside fire pit, watching eagles from the deck and our daughter even took a cold water plunge. Lots of day hiking and delicious meals by fireplace. A tranquil and restorative forest retreat!

Enchanted Woods is a perfect spot to experience the rugged BC coast. Even though it was mid December, it was not too cold to use the kayaks at the property and paddle the protected waters to enjoy the ocean and it's critters. The wood stove and many windows allowed for a cozy place to watch the tidal world wake and retire at days end. Furnishings are comfortable and not over done. We need more days here as we left some adventures on the table.

We had a super time. The pics represent the place well. Lots of outdoor space, comfortable beds, all appliances worked well, view was incredible, water toys were excellent, the whole 9 yards. We are looking forward to another stay in the summer time (we stayed over Thanksgiving long weekend). My favourite pet was the well stocked wood pile to keep the cabin cozy at night. We will definitely be back!

Great cottage for family getaway!

The cottage and location was beautiful and private. We really enjoyed the proximity to the water and the beauty and quiet of the setting. Enjoyed the kayaks and paddle board. We did find the general cleanliness could have been better, there is some maintenance that is needed on the stairs down to the water and at the boathouse, and we had to call for propane as the 3 tanks on the deck were empty. Host was very responsive and brought propane the next day. We enjoyed our week at the ocean, but felt that the place was needing a bit of TLC in cleanliness and upkeep.

Good place to stay if you’re planning to move around the area. Situated close to Sechelt, Halfmoon Bay and Pender Harbour

I spent a week at Halfmoon Bay. It was a peaceful space and the view was spectacular. I kayaked twice a day at high tide and it was incredible. I would highly recommend staying here. I was by myself but the house could easily accommodate 3 couples or a family. I will definitely be back!!

Very nice place. Quiet time of year to come as it was very peaceful. House has everything you need and more. We would definitely visit again.
