Very good experience. The property manager was there to give a tour.
We very much enjoyed our time at this lovely beach cottage. The owners were easy to work with and the location / views were excellent!
We loved everything about this cottage! It was a hot week in CT, but the shoreline breezes kept us pretty cool. We woke up in the mornings to sip coffee on the deck overlooking the ocean and took long walks on the sand dunes at low tide. My kids loved it and we cherished our week...already looking forward to next year!
What a lovely spot! A perfect beach location. Ocean-swimming off the dock at high tide and endless sand bar wandering during low tide. And beautiful marsh views were a pleasant surprise! Plenty of egrets, osprey, etc. to watch. Very quiet and relaxing. Fantastic deck and gracious host. We had a wonderful week!
the dunn cottage couldn’t be closer to the water. as you lay in bed at night, you can hear the waves lapping the shore. the views, the neighborhood and the huge deck made for a great week.
What an amazing property and stay we had! We booked after we fell in love with Old Saybrook and Harvey's beach a couple years ago. The tide goes way out just like Cape Cod, WITHOUT all the traffic to get there! The sunrise and sunsets are so stunning. My 7 year old absolutely loved combing the beach at each and every low tide. We saw so many horseshoe crabs, tiny ones to huge ones, even a tagged one! The house had board games, which we loved playing on rainy days. We made so many great memories. The house had all we needed and MORE. We brought some kitchen things with us, but we really didn't need much. The property sits on a cul-de-sac and do not have properties sitting on top of it on either side, which was fantastic. Gives a little more room and privacy on out on the deck. No one is sitting on top of you on either side like other beach houses. Lots of great restaurants nearby, Liv's Shack for lobster rolls and Alforno Trattoria for pizza (and great drinks!) and great shopping, also. Everyone in Old Saybrook is so pleasant. I would be, too if I lived there year-round. Thanks, again to Beth and her family for providing such an inviting cottage. We will be back!!
My husband and I, along with our four young children stayed here as a last minute vacation this summer. It was one of the best vacations we've been on. You can't beat the location or the sunsets from the deck. The neighborhood is very quiet and friendly. The kids loved crabbing and finding shells at low tide. The cottage was exactly as described and was very well equipped. The owner was responsive and checked in during the week. We would definitely be interested in renting here again in the future!
Planning a family vacation was a bit more challenging due to covid, so we stayed local. I found this location on this site. Everything was just as it said it would be. It was peaceful, beautiful deck. The kitchen had whatever you needed to cook. One of the best things was being able to walk out to the sandbars. The owner checked it. I would definitely be interested in booking again.
My family and I had a great time enjoying the access to the water and activities. Thanks again.
