Stayed Feb 12, 2025Driving to the property is about 95% paved road which is great. The property is plenty large for parking. The view of the ocean is the best every day. The home is very cute and comfortable, everything needed to accommodate is provided. 1 and a half bath with AC unit in the upstairs bed room. It can get pretty cold with the door closed. No one bothers you at all. Local Restaurants and stores are available. The beach is about 3/4 miles from home. Also has washing machine if needed.

Stayed Jul 18, 2021Unfortunately my stay here was disappointing. During a pandemic I thought cleanliness should be a given, but the interior of the property was dirty and did not appear to have been cleaned at all, despite the 'cleaning fee' that I paid. We had to clean the interior ourselves- kitchen, fridge, lightswitches, toilets, doors because they had dark handprints and fingerprints all over them. We were also terribly displeased with the neighborhood, which seemed like a slum since there were multiple emaciated dogs wandering around the house. This really reduced the quality of our experience, as they would bark all night and keep us awake, and hung out beside the front door since they were starving and had afterbirth hanging out. I dreaded coming back to this place each night, and unfortunately booked 5 nights here. I'm afraid I would not recommend this place to anyone until these things are addressed.

Stayed Feb 29, 2020The casita sits on a hill with a gorgeous view of the Pacific Ocean and Playa Prieta. It is secluded, with the only people in sight are the caretakers home 30 meters away. Mornings start with coffee on the veranda, watching all the amazing birds that stop in the trees. Evenings end at the end of the yard, watching the beautiful sunset. A few evenings we could see whales in the distance! The house is well equipped and an updated kitchen, since our visit last year. A/C in the bedroom and a comfortable bed made for a great night sleep. The bedroom is upstairs and has plenty of room and storage. There is even a half bath up there. Roy, the owner, was fantastic! We were here for the entire month of March, from the beginning of the COVID-19 initial reports until we caught one of the last planes out of Costa Rica to the US. Roy stayed in communication and offered the house to us for as long as we needed, if we got stuck and had no way home. During normal times, the village at the bottom of the hill has everything you need; groceries, restaurants, etc. Two beaches are at the bottom of either road you can walk down, Playa Penca and Playa Prieta (our favorite). This was our 2nd year in a row staying here, and we would absolutely stay here again if we come back to Costa Rica.

Stayed Jul 27, 2019This property has a magnificent view but there’s no setup to enjoy it other than dragging the plastic chairs from the patio out to the edge of the property. The house is as the owner states, a tiny house with the essentials for cooking and is very rustic. We arrived after dark and had some problems finding it as the only directions we were given was ‘small casita on the left’. It seemed obvious the next day but wasn’t in the dark. There was no toilet paper in the house and also no dish soap or cloths/sponges to clean dishes and the cooking area. I really think those are essentials and should be provided. The bedroom upstairs is very comfortable but it’s very hot downstairs and even with the windows open there’s not much air circulation although there are fans provided.

Stayed Mar 15, 2019We were so lucky to find this charming house! The location was perfect. We wrestled with walking the steep climb home everyday, but it was well worth it. We were able to sit, high above the most beautiful beach, every evening and watch one gorgeous sunset after another. We did not have a car, but there were several restaurants and small markets to walk to. Plus, two wonderful beaches to walk to. Playa Prieta was hands down our favorite! Well equipped kitchen made it easy to make breakfast every day, before heading out. We also made dinner at home many times, after the sun went down. The air conditioning in the bedroom, plus a comfortable bed made for a great night's sleep. The downstairs was not sure conditioned, but the covered patio was very comfortable to sit and drink or coffee, while bird watching. Bird watching was amazing. Mot mots troguns, parrots, hummingbirds, Orioles and more! Our favorites, though, were the magpie jays that would come to the kitchen window and yell at us to feed them. They especially liked cat food!

Stayed Dec 31, 1969We arrived at dusk, via taxi from the airport. The little yellow casa was surrounded by twinkling fireflies. In the house was all the comforts of home , wifi, movies, microwave ,coffe maker, stove. We settled in quickly and sat out on the patio to listen to the howler monkeys. we spent alot of time on The patio in. We were often greeted by creatures such as little foxes and friendly skunks , magpies, monkeys above us. The sunsets were magical, the beach was The best! Like walking into a postcard. It took us about 20 minutes to walk down to it and we only walked back up twice the other times we took taxis The caretakers were friendly and helpful, download a translator app to communicate with them though. We stayed 30 days and it felt like home. The

Stayed Dec 31, 1969The sunset views from this property are truly stunning. Grab a lounge chair from the patio, move it to the edge of the garden, pour a drink and then relax and enjoy the show. Very private - neighbors are a decent distance away - nice to feel cozy and secluded in a tropical getaway. The interior is clean and well-organized.

Stayed Dec 31, 1969“I have just had a fabulous getaway at Loma Del Sol and would highly recommend it. I have felt taken care of from the moment I first made contact with Roy. Everything is just how he describes it on his website, particularly the warmth and hospitality offered by the gentle people of Costa Rica. Everyone-the neighbours, the maid, Roy, even people passing on the street were friendly and helpful. Travelling alone and without a car was not a problem. I couldn’t possibly do everything Roy suggested so I will definitely be back. I already miss my morning walk to the most beautiful beach and swimming in the warm clear water. My highlight was going on the Lazy Lizard sunset sail that Roy recommended. And then after a day of tourist activities, I appreciated coming home to my little cottage away from it all.”

Stayed Jan 2, 2016My boyfrind and I stayed 5 nights in this charming little casa. It was perfect. It is near the beach (5 minutes walk), near the mini-markets and it is not really touristic. You feel like you are a local, you feel good. Everyone is friendly. The house is small, but you have everything that you need, plus you have everynight a beautiful sunset. Prieta beach (5 minutes) is totally beautiful and Penca beach (5 minutes) is perfect to watch the sunset during swiming in the pacifical waves. The kitchen is well equipped and the bedroom is charming with the A/C. Josepha, the caretaker who lives close to the casa, is really kind, helpful and she will help you to learn more spanish words! We could stay many more weeks here. I recommend it for a couple or for a small family. we will come back.
