COVID19 SPECIAL NOTICE:
Dare County including the Outer Banks is currently open to visitors. Any reservations affected by the virus will be reimbursed in full.

It will be important for everyone to follow guidelines on social distancing and personal protective equipment to keep everyone safe and the beaches open.
Please check the Dare County website for guidelines and information about staying safe, new business operation restrictions. Many restaurants are now open as well asoffering take out, curbside pick up, and delivery. https://www.darenc.com/departments/health-human-services/coronavirus

We have implemented new cleaning procedures with emphasis on touch points, but all surfaces are being disinfected. We are following industry recommendations based on Center for Disease Control (CDC) and World Health Organization (WHO) guidelines for safe operation of a vacation rental property. Since we do not have laundry machines at the cottage, all blankets, bead spreads and throw pillows have been removed. In addition to the usual linens, (sheets and towels), you will also need to bring blankets/bedspreads with you. There are linen services in the area that can provide these if you do not want to pack them. We apologize for this inconvenience, but there is no other way to safely provide these items. We do have pillows with protective covers, but if you feel more safe with your own, add these to your packing list. Spray bottles with a 10:1 bleach solution is at the cottage for your use. (Commercial cleaning products are difficult to find)!

So here is a summary of what you can do to make your stay safe:
At check-in:
remove shoes before entering cottage (this is difficult as you unpack but if possible have one person unload the car and another person inside)
wipe high touch surfaces with disinfectant (we have done this, but industry recommendations suggest guests take the extra precaution)
If using bed pillows provided, be sure to use your own pillowcases
During your stay follow the three W's:
Wear a mask/cloth face covering when in public areas, (all businesses will require masks to enter)
Wait six feet apart
Wash your hands frequently for 20 seconds with soap and water or hand sanitizer
Be mindful of what you touch in public areas, (hand rails, gas pumps, grocery carts, etc.
Most important.....have a wonderful time! The beach is the perfect place to relax and restore. Following the social distancing guidelines and safety precautions will help keep everyone healthy and the beaches open.
-------------------------------------------------------
Sitting just 100 yds from the beach, Sea Breezes is inviting and comfortable the minute you walk through the door. Each side of the duplex has 2 bedrooms, 1 bath, and a living/dining/kitchen area. A unique sliding wall allows for rental of both sides with a common dining area. Each kitchen is fully equipped. There is cable TV, DVD, and wifi, a private deck with grill and heavenly outside showers on each side. The Town of Southern Shores was founded on volunteerism and continues to be cared for by a strong team of members of the community. It is a strong community committed to preserving a safe, family friendly beach and sound area. Beach and sound access is limited to property owners and renters, so over-crowding is not an issue. Access to the beach from Sea Breezes Cottage is a short 100 yard walk. Although across the street from the beach access path, the cottage is in a strictly enforced 25 mph zone of Ocean Blvd, making crossing the street easy and safe. The South side of the cottage is identical to the North side unit except in bedding. On this side, there is one bedroom that has a queen size bed. The second bedroom has two twin beds. There is also a queen size sleep sofa in the living area.

Please note that we do not provide linens. You will need to bring your own sheets, bath towels, kitchen towels, and beach towels.

We love the cottage … been there many times. My only complaint is the Vrbo instructions are difficult for an 87 year old lady. Didn’t get the lock code until we were en route and the I was not good at getting my email on my phone and although I had my iPad I had no Wi-Fi. I need a better method for contacting you with issues.

Our stay was excellent! The location of the Sea Breezes house is great if you want to be in the Northern OBX. You are between Kitty Hawk and Duck so close to many stores and restaurants. You are close to Hwy. 12/Duck Road too, but you are so close to the beach the ocean is the only thing you hear. Being 100ft. from the beach access path is wonderful.Checkin is very easy. There is a very handy booklet explaining everything with the house including use of the TV.What we were unaware of but found to be very cool is you're staying in a historically significant house, an OBX Flat Top Cottage! https://www.flattopsobx.com Frank Stick, a well-known Outer Banks artist and developer, is famous for his flat top cottage designs in Southern Shores. These minimalist, square-shaped homes, built in the 1950s, feature distinctive flat roofs, wide overhangs, and Bahama shutters. Stick's vision was to create affordable, stylish homes using local materials like juniper wood and concrete blocks made with beach sand. While many of these original flat tops have been replaced by larger structures, a few remain, and a community effort is underway to preserve them according to the Outer Banks Community Foundation. We would definitely rent here again the next time we head to the Northern Outer Banks!

Really good location, it is a short walk to the beach, short drive to grocery stores and other stores. it was big enough for my family very comfortable and the kitchen is equipped with everything you need. Anne (property manager) was very nice to us. We are already planning the next trip down to the obx and we will definitely be staying over again

The place is located very close to the beach and central so one can easily visit other areas of the Outer Banks. It is a duplex and they don’t have to be loud to hear everything that your neighbors are doing. Mine had a small baby that cried every single night after 10:00 pm. So be aware. If the owners took a better care of details I’d give it 5 stars because the noise is manageable and I did sleep well, but the place is a little run down, they don’t provide any type of linens when every other place does. I had to buy paper towel, toilet paper, shampoo, soap. I am in a road trip, I booked over 10 places…every single one provided all these things except for this one. In summary, I did have a good time but it could have been better.

It was an old duplex and it hasn’t been updated. The beach was just across the street, which was nice. The internet for the tv was not great, it would stop while we were watching a program. We had to provide our own sheets and towels. Pets were allowed.

We had difficulty with the code to enter and the front door jammed so bad it could not be opened. We reached out to owner around 3:15 pm and used the virtual agent to get a phone number. The response did not come until 10:45pm that evening. We Had found another door to enter in back in the meantime and had to walk everything on a narrow boardwalk path to back of house. The best thing about property was the location. Directly across from beach access and close to many outer banks sites like the Wright Brothers memorial, Kull Devil Hills and Duck. Bathroom was small and only a shower. The floor was very dirty when we arrived and we had to clean up. I will say the living areas were nice size and kitchen well equipped. The host also refunded the the service fee since we had so much trouble reaching for entry assistance.

Property owner is very helpful. The property needs some care with weeds. However we were impressed with the inside. Roomier than it looked. We were all very comfortable. Appreciate we could bring our dogs, who absolutely loved it.

We had a great stay. Check in was seamless and we were thrilled to discover the beach is basically across the street. The property is a bit dated and could use better soundproofing for the adjoining unit, but overall, it more than met our needs. Loved the outdoor shower.

The description was fairly accurate, however, minimal amenities and no evidence to make the stay more personal. Landscape could have been much better. However, it was so accessible to the beach that it made the stay tolerable.
