I was inpressed with the communication from the owners from booking through to the week before we vacationed. All questions leading up were thoroughly answered over the phone which was a great personal touch. The cottage has a ton of charm from the decorations to the cute signage all around the inside of the home. The amenities were thought out and we had all of the linens and cleaning supplies we needed (e.g., dish soap, basic paper goods, broom to keep sandy floor clean). There was even some spices for cooking! The view of the lake from the cottage is very picturesque, and the beach was absolutely perfect for our family of little ones. It's sandy and gradually gets deeper. After 11am our part of the beach was shaded which helped immensely during out 80+ degree stay. Its also a very quiet beach and some days we didnt see anyone, even when walking the quarter-ish mile length. There was a screened in gazebo for our 90 year old grandmother to sit in right by the lake with prime activity viewing. We also enjoyed the firepit for smores, and brought a propane grill/griddle/pizza oven to cook on for the afternoons we wanted to remain down by the lake. My daughter and I especially loved picking wild blueberries together there. The biggest drawback is that the cottage doesn't have A/C so the upstairs got pretty warm, even with the fans on. Bring an A/C unit (if owner approved) and you'll need nothing more than your bathing suit for your stay ?
We really enjoyed our stay! It was cozy and very quiet and peaceful! Thank you Ruth for making us feel at home. We look forward to another vacation here at your home
Only saw the sun for a day and a half. Can't control the weather…
Me and my family truly enjoyed our stay on Ossipee lake! The lake is much quieter than Lake Winni with much less boat traffic. The home has a wonderful yard that led to a large sandy beach that we enjoyed relaxing on. The neighbors were very friendly. The house had 4 bedrooms giving us plenty of space for the 7 of us to sleep and each room had fans to keep us cool. Town was not far from the house and we were able to enjoy a night out to eat and trip for ice cream near by!
I love this rustic cottage on a beautiful lake surrounded by mountains without crowds or commercial attractions.
Our family had a wonderful vacation in the Stevens’ comfortable cottage. Our toddler loved exploring the beach, the woods, the lake, and the new gazebo overlooking the water and the mountains. Ossipee Lake is a special place for our family, and the owners made our stay easy and pleasant.
My family and I vacation yearly together in the month of July. This was by far the best place we have ever stayed. The views are breathtaking, the house is clean, with everything you need at your reach. The beach is absolutely perfect. The water was warm, clean, and inviting. I wish I could put into words how much my family and I enjoyed our stay here. You won’t regret spending time at this amazing place.
An experience we will treasure always. Ruth and Seth were wonderful to work with from the get go and made everything simple, creating a perfect experience for all. Their lovely lakefront cottage seemed almost as if it were prepped in a Hollywood studio. The sites, sounds and smells were those of a quintessential New Hampshire lakefront cottage. We spent the week of July 4th enjoying their jewel on Ossipee Lake with our four children. The cottage was perfectly equipped for an out-of-state family. We wanted for absolutely nothing. My brothers pontoon boat made easy pit stops on the dock just off the sandy private beach. A wonderful grassy expanse between the cottage and beach made for a perfect wiffle ball field. The fire pit was enjoyed for late night s'mores and firework viewing around the big lake. Our only complaint is that the week came and went far too quickly! Thank you Ruth for everything. We hope to be back next year!
Located on the best part of the lake with large sandy beach and gradual waterfront. Beautiful views and sunrises. Very clean and spacious. The owners are very responsive and want to ensure your experience is a good one. Loved it!
This house suited our family vacation to a tee. The location was great - easy on/off Route 16, yet secluded and very quiet. The views from the house/beach were breathtaking. The beach was a good size and never felt crowded even when the neighbors were out. The house itself was very clean, well appointed, and even more spacious than it appears in the pictures. It's obvious that the owners take great pride in their home and have really thought of everything when it comes to their renters' needs. In a perfect world, there'd be one more bathroom; other than that it's as good as it gets!
