Fredericksburg, Texas
.
Willkommen to our romantic B&B in the Texas Wine Country.
Embedded in a nice garden setting, the four cottages Rapunzel, Rumpelstilzchen, Schneewittchen and Aschenputtel are reminders of old Germanic dwellings from the early middle ages.
Each cottage has a cozy living room, a kitchen, bathroom and bedroom and another bedroom in the loft.
You can relax at the pond, feed the goldfish and listen to the frogs chanting to the sound of the waterfall.
Sip a glass of wine on the small patio in front of the cottages or on the big patio next to the main house.
Enjoy a fire in the fire pit in the back of the property by the creek or in the gorgeous fireplace at the big patio.
If you are restless or hungry, a 10 minute drive carries you to Fredericksburg with all it's shopping and activities.
With 15 wineries within a three miles radius this is the perfect starting point for your wine tour. Upon returning you'll realize, you are close enough to Luckenbach to hear their concerts.
And you can look forward to a rich, hearty German breakfast every morning served by the German innkeepers.
You'll love this enchanting B&B, but you will not be able to remember it's terrible name Rarumpelpunzeldornaschenwittchen …

Absolutely nicely decorated cottage, well isolated. Great innkeepers with a Great breakfast!
It was amazing, very recommended.
It just kept getting worse… I contacted the property a month in advance for an early check-in at 1pm because we had an afternoon wedding to attend- we were told no problem! When we arrived our cottage was not ready and we had received no check in details. The owner just quickly made beds and you could tell nothing was throughly wiped down or cleaned. Pretty gross especially during a pandemic this was bothersome but we trudged on.. The listing said would sleep four- it definitely doesn’t! It’s one queen sized bed and the upstairs loft had a twin mattress on the floor. There was also a nasty loveseat sofa that did not pull out so for our family of 2 adults and two children under the age of eight this was another huge miss. Again, having no other option we trudged on and let our 6 year old sleep with us. Our oldest slept upstairs and complained of ants and heat, ugh.. The kids loved the pond, the swing, hammocks and the cat. The neighboring chickens and goats were loud but it added to our adventure. We tried to see pass all the flaws and honestly were just not too knit picky especially over things that we can make work. We had not even complained about one thing and just kept on smiling.. Here comes the curve ball- We are animal people, love animals, have 3 pets of our own and greatly respect them. Our children definitely loved on the cat which roamed freely on the property. I got a call a day later accusing my family of stealing the cat!!!!!! Yes, you heard me correctly. The owners said I stole their cat and must return him at once!? Excuse me, what?! I thought he may have been joking and maybe I didn’t understand his German humor but nope, he was dead serious. I can’t plead my innocence louder, I would never in my life do such a thing. He was really putting the heat on my children for taking to the animal. I’m sorry that the freely roaming outdoor cat hasn’t came home and I do pray that nothing has happened to the sweet animal, I just can’t believe he jumped the gun on us. Never again! Also, for a place seemingly set up for children the owner made it obvious that he doesn’t like them and said quite rude things about other children. Families beware.
Lots of mosquitoes so bring spray. Did not receive any type of check in, when we arrived there was a number to call so we did and we were greeted. The cottages are very small, smaller than expected. Cleanliness of cottage was so so. Needs a deep clean, very dusty. Husband was sneezing entire time. The AC was not adjustable and needs to be cleaned. Water was not super hot, either. The upstairs was extremely hot and my daughter was unable to sleep up there...(not to mention a bit dangerous). Complementary breakfast was not very good either. We unfortunately did not eat it except toast. Cottages are charming and have potential but do need some TLC.
This cute property is off the busy 290 so you have no traffic noise but close enough that Downtown Fredericksburg and most wineries are about 15 minutes away or less. The owners are super sweet and let you be to enjoy what they created. The delivered to cottage breakfast was so yummy and enjoyed when you want to. Very excited that they are adding two more cottages to the property and the rocking chairs fed my soul
We enjoyed our stay at this lovely getaway cottage. The grounds are beautiful and we enjoyed all the unique little touches to the cottage decor. The sound system was a fun touch that definitely added to the romance of our stay! We weren't sent check-in instructions ahead of time, but Barbara was out working in the yard when we got there so we were able to check in without a problem. It would have been nice to have a fan in the bed area, as the air conditioner didn't really blow that direction and it did get a little warm at night. But overall we loved our stay at the cottage and enjoyed visiting historic Fredericksburg as well. A great way to celebrate our anniversary!
Fun for little ones
Great experience
Cute and charming place. Would suggest limiting cottages to 3 people max. Also, add a lighted pathway to the cottages for night time navigation.
Henry and Barbara were welcoming and the cottage we stayed in was so adorable/homey! We spent the weekend here, and are already looking forward to staying here again when we come back.
The cottages were cute, clean and comfortable. Henry was really nice the only thing I would do to improve would be to add a TV there was no TV in the cottage. The outside needed a little maintenance but the winter storm may have caused it to look a little unmaintained.
