The Red Barn offers a peaceful retreat that balances quiet surroundings with easy access to the vibrant attractions of Tobermory and the Bruce Peninsula. Tucked away in a calm, nature-rich setting, this location allows guests to unwind while staying close to some of the region’s most iconic destinations.

A short drive brings you to Tobermory, where you can explore charming harbourfront shops, local galleries, and a variety of cafés and restaurants. From here, boat tours depart for Flowerpot Island and Fathom Five National Marine Park, offering opportunities to see historic shipwrecks, crystal-clear water, and dramatic rock formations. Bruce Peninsula National Park is also nearby and features the famous Grotto, scenic hiking trails, rugged limestone cliffs, and turquoise shoreline views that draw visitors from around the world.

Closer to home, The Red Barn provides beautiful access to Lake Huron, creating a relaxed setting for canoeing, swimming, or simply spending time on the dock. The lake is especially inviting in the evenings, when sunsets stretch across the water and the surrounding landscape grows quiet and still. Larry’s Lake is shallow—approximately three to five feet off the dock—making it a fun spot for kids to splash, play, and catch minnows. For safety, we recommend children be at least five years old, as the cottage features steep stairs.

The area is ideal for guests who enjoy a slower pace, outdoor time, and classic cottage-country charm. Whether you’re paddling on the lake, exploring nearby trails and parks, or enjoying a quiet evening by the water, The Red Barn offers a welcoming and memorable base for your Bruce Peninsula getaway.

Enjoy the rustic charm, natural beauty, and relaxed atmosphere that make this location such a special place to stay.

Beautiful. Cozy cottage stay for the Fall season. Great kitchen for cooking, cozy living room and bedrooms upstairs. Beautiful area too. Picture perfect to the photos listed. Perfect location - right by the Grotto, Singing Sands Beach and Bruce Trail. Note that the shower and bathroom are on the main floor. Night time trips to the loo do require a downstairs trek.

The property is in a great central location to everything we wanted to do during our stay. The location is quiet and well maintained. Foosball and provided boardgames kept us entertained on a rainy evening.

If you are looking for a good place to park for the week that is close to all the national parks and main attractions the red barn is a good choice. Just under 10 min to beautiful singing sands and less than 20 to the grotto Tobermory and halfway log dump parks. We appreciated the cute walking paths to the dock and fire pit and our boys ages 12 and 13 spent hours playing foosball in the bunkie. The cottage is quaint, beds are comfortable linens provided but warm in late July for sleeping. The kitchen is fully stocked with everything you need and nice to have extra dish soap paper towel etc . Grey Bruce cottages is responsive and were lovely to leave us some goodies upon arrival. I will mention the lake out front is small and does not connect directly into Lake Huron. There is iron sediment at the bottom of the lake not making it welcoming for swimming and as mentioned only 1ft off the dock . We did not use the lake other than to paddle over to portage to Lake Huron, however did sit at the dock for the beautiful sunsets. One other point is the fridge is extremely small. If looking to stack with water, drinks and food for the week you will not have room. Overall we had a nice stay however for the price something in Lake Huron would be ideal
