The property and the managers were great. It was very relaxing but the furniture and especially the beds could be updated. They were very old and not very comfortable. Not sure I would book again. The kids loved the canoes and the view was great.
We had a great stay at the Chalet! It's like roughing it, but with many upgrades that made it much easier. Unfortunately the weather made us unable to take advantage of all the amenities, but when we make it back this way, we'll be sure to return! Thanks so much!
A lovely chalet steps from the water. Owners are in property and very accommodating. A little slice of heaven
What a treat! The chalet was cozy, just like going back to grandma's house. The hosts were very friendly and helpful. We invited family over and enjoyed a clambake outside at the firepit. A magical evening that we'll remember forever.
Very nice and private area. Pond access was good.
Everything about our Maine accommodations was perfect. I'll take a secluded house in the woods on an ocean size lake over a crowded ocean beach anyday. Private Canoes, dock, a separate semiprivate lakefront beach shared with a couple other vacationers from other nearby but distant houses. Most of those with beachfront access (10-12 people) gather for the nightly sunsets over the water which are must-see events every single night. it's only a 30+ minute drive to Portland, Kennebunkport, Ogunquit for great eats and shopping. having a full house and the aforementioned amenities made this short drive more than tolerable. Some days we never left the property at all. My girls caught their first fish, (bass and salmon). I'd go back to this place in a heartbeat.
This is a very centrally located spot for enjoying the Portland area.
We loved staying here with a group of children and adults, it is the classic Maine lake camp experience. Great fishing on the property and a wonderful lake beach with a dock accessible via a short (and really fun for kids) walk through the woods. The property is as advertised and the bedrooms were all very comfy; there was plenty of space to grill and eat outside. You could be very happy to spend the day just relaxing on the lake, but restaurants and activities in Windham and Portland are also not far away.
We had a great stay at the lake house! The property managers were so thoughtful and we found nothing lacking. The beach was fantastic, and the canoes were a lot of fun. We even had plenty of fans to keep us cool at night
Dee's Chalet was the perfect spot for our two weeks in Maine. The location was ideal and made a great home base for our visit: equidistant to our family, the coast, and Portland. Nancy and Don were excellent hosts, starting with a tray of fresh brownies! The beach was most comfortably accessed by canoe, which made for a fun little jaunt on the pond. The beach itself was awesome: sandy, warm, shallow and clean. I would love to stay again!! The only things that were disappointing were completely out of Nancy and Don's control: the wifi was unreliable (due to the provider) and the bugs were atrociously fierce. However, with bug spray and cell phone data, we were happy as clams. Thank you!
