Shack Ahoy! A quirky little place to kick off your shoes and get comfy, Shack Ahoy offers a unique stay in the beautiful seaside town of Bridport.

This quaint and comfortable little abode is our place; it’s furnished with our things and decorated to our taste! This is where we come to escape the demands of daily life. To walk on the sand, to allow the briny sea air to enliven our senses, to splash in the waves, to connect with the natural world. Shack Ahoy offers a mix of new andold.

The space
Tastefully renovated with a brand new bathroom complete with rain head shower and handheld spout, a Scandinavian-made leather recliner and footstool, newly renovated kitchen with a stone sink and quality mixer, sumptuous bed linen (definitely not the standard hotel sheets), and quality appliances, Books, cutlery, crockery, throws, and an eclectic mix of vintage furniture are our own, collected over the years, finding their place here, in our own little seaside refuge. Grab the beach bag we keep at hand to enjoy a morning down on the beach; take a weatherproof coat from the hook for those drizzly days that are just perfect for a short stroll down to a local cafe for coffee and cake. Our little kitchen provides all you need to whip up simple meals at home; or else venture out to make the most of Bridport’s cafes, take-aways, or summer food vans.

With views of the ocean from the main living space (combined kitchen, dining and lounge), you can sit down to breakfast and take in oceans mood of the day. From the bedroom, look out over the constantly moving Brid River; see the fishing boats coming and going, the tides washing in and receding back out to sea. Take a stroll around the large block. A shaded outdoor space with table and chairs provides a comfortable place for outdoor dining (complete with Weber bbq) and the opportunity to take in the panoramic views of sea and distant mountains.

If you don’t mind snuggling up under an old woollen blanket, complete with a few little holes, sipping a GnT from Nans crystal glasses… if you like to thumb through the pages of books read a hundred times before… if you enjoy taking tea in pastel coloured china of years gone by… then this is the place for you.

Unpretentious, relaxed, functional, intimate, romantic… Shack Ahoy!

The cabin is very small! I slept on the couch, my sister had the bed. We couldnt work the TV setup, but enjoyed reading books wed brought with us and catching up on rest! I loved the outdoor fire pit, wish we had time and energy to use it. I also enjoyed cooking some bikkies in the stove, which was fantastic!

It was fine. Reasonably and well equipped. An electric blanket would have saved using the heat pump potentially saving money for the host in the future. A few rugs?
