There are a lot of great things about this property. You had awesome views of the water from the deck and inside the house as well. It is just a short walk to the beach. It is very clean and well maintained. The kitchen had everything you need for cooking and the bed was very comfy. We will definitely stay here again!
We enjoyed our visit to the Cross Village area. The cottage setting is beautiful. Would loved to have stayed longer. Thank you for offering your cottage for rental!
Our second time staying here and we love it so much! Gorgeous lake view, a few steps to beach and beautiful wooded surroundings. House is cozy and well stocked/furnished. Perfect location and proximity to all the best of Northern MI. Petoskey, Harbor Springs and Mackinaw all about 30 mins. Cross Village is great and even better with the new brewery and reopened Village Mart. Leggs Inn is a must. Can’t wait to come back - it hurts to leave!
Sue's home is clean and very comfortable, with a wonderful deck for meals and hanging out and a gorgeous stretch of private beach (with dock). Very conveniently located, with easy access to water play and hikes, as well as touristy attractions (e.g., Mackinac Island). We had a really lovely stay and highly recommend the property!
We cannot say enough nice things about this property or the lovely owners. Check in and out were a breeze and if you needed to get a hold of the owners, they were quick to respond. The view from the house/deck was just breathtaking and you can listen to the waves 24 hours a day. Short little walk on a Sandy path, and you are on a lovely beach that stretches both ways a good distance which was great for beach walks and finding rock treasures. Water shoes highly recommended, which Sue made us aware of ahead of time. The house itself is as comfortable as can be, and very well appointed. It has tons of windows, so there was always a lovely breeze keeping the house cool on hot days. The lake is crystal clear, cool and refreshing. Our kids swam for hours at a time. We enjoyed seeing hawks, ducks, and an eagle from the beach and were a little obsessed with the cute black squirrels that played in the trees surrounding the house. The house is an easy driving distance to all of our favorite places in the area. We enjoyed lunch and shopping in Petoskey and Harbor Springs and a visit to the Good Hart General Store for pizza and a wander through the shops around it. It is only a few minutes to Legs Inn for delicious Polish food in a really cool restaurant. This property will certainly be our first choice for future visits.
We had a wonderful and relaxing stay at the CrossVillage cottage. I reccomend vacationing there.
This cottage on Lake Michigan is gold! From dawn to dusk a great, great place to vacation!
The house was well equipped. We loved being on the lake. Flowers were a nice touch.
Beautiful location for a lakefront property in Cross Village. We have rented many properties on the shore between Wilderness State Park and the Tunnel of Trees, and this has the easiest direct access to the lake. The design provides what we like about these properties ... large windows to view the lake from inside the house, a large deck to enjoy the lake view and breeze, and a sandy beach for long beach strolls (now that the lake water has receded to a normal level). The lake breeze circulates through the house at night, and we could hear the waves through the bedroom windows. The house has good amenities with a well-equipped kitchen with quality appliances, and includes beach chairs. The mattresses are very firm, so be prepared for that, and faucets could use some maintenance or upgrades. The hosts communicate promptly to questions and concerns.
We've stayed here three times now and have enjoyed each visit. The home is comfortable and the location is excellent. The beach and sunsets are just beautiful. Tom and Sue are great to work with and very accommodating.
