We had a great stay! The cottages are right on the water and it’s pretty inexpensive to rent one of the docks. One of the other renters caught enough blue gill for a fish fry which can be great for kids. The lake is beautiful. Also, the sand dunes are so fun, and it was not crowded at all during the week when we went. The Pine cottage comfortably fit 5 for us. The beds are full beds so I would plan on splitting up your guests to the pull out couch or bringing a blow up mattress if you prefer some space. Otherwise, the beds were comfortable. We were able to fit a pack n play in a room, too. The cottage had pots/pans, silverware, dishes, hand soap, and it was stocked with towels. I would bring shamp/conditioner. It did not have salt and pepper so for seasonings, I’d bring what you need (we did leave some there at Pine if you’re staying there soon). There was a grill, but the igniter was broken, and none of us had a lighter, so we were unable to use it one of the nights. When we did get a lighter, we learned it’s not a very powerful grill overall so I wouldn’t plan on making anything more than burgers/hotdogs. It took awhile to cook the bratts we brought. There was WiFi! Not super fast but we were able to watch a few Netflix shows. The one con I have is that while the cottage was surface level clean, our feet turned black the first day. I think it just needs a very thorough mopping. Maybe just bring house slippers! Not a huge deal since we were outside most of the time.

Thankfully a couple staying in the cottage next door had a ph #, so we were able to call. I had emailed 3 times before our arrival and only got 2 basic replies. No repky to my request for check in information. The cottage has no spices except salt and pepper. There is a Mr. Coffee coffee pot but you mist bring your own coffee and filters. Plenty of dishes and pots and pans. But no condiments or anything. 6 of us. Only 4 dining chairs To the owners....there is a small lip in the hallway, which needs to be marked. Everyone of us stepped off it. Someone could get injured. Also it should be listed in the description that the 3rd bedroom has no door. A pocket door would be better than nothing. Parking in location (info we finally received an hour after getting in), was difficult with full size truck, mid suv and mid size car. The place was very clean but many fruit or drain flies were present. We did our best to kill many. We enjoyed the location but we arent likely to return to rhis resort.

We get excited for our annual trip to Ludington to see family, but unfortunately this rental really disappointed us. It’s your typical corporate rental that doesn’t truly focus on the comfort of its guests - one roll of toilet paper and paper towel for 6 of us, no extra sheets or blankets for the pull out sofa that we desperately needed (more on that later), no cards or game, no wine opener, no foil or plastic wrap - the bare minimum. There was trash on the surrounding grounds (plastic tooth flossers, rubbish stuck in the overgrown weeds, etc.), a threatening sign on the neighbors door that looked at our cabin with a gun on it

We had a great week on Hamlin lake and visiting Ludington. Wow, beautiful area! The cabin is nicely renovated, the dock location was ideal. The grounds are well kept. However, a few updates would make it an exceptional stay. The rooms need new mattresses, the full/double size beds are small but that’s all that can be fit in the rooms. The last bedroom needs a door or some kind of privacy curtain. Bathroom and kitchen are good, needed a sixth chair for the table (given the cabin can sleep 6), hooks throughout and hangers for the one hallway closet. But otherwise nearly brand new! They also had a place for our boat trailer. The launch is super close by. Mollie was very responsive to inquiries. We would also suggest an amenities list with info about the grill, coffee maker, and other provisions so families know what to bring ahead of time. We would stay there again. Thank you!

The property manager (Mollie) was very nice and helpful. A little delay in getting in touch but she has a young family so it’s to be expected. She always followed up and was tried to help anyway she was authorized to. I was a little disappointed with the cleanliness of the pine location but the property manager refunded the cleaning fee. Was difficult to park at this location and wasn’t enough parking. Got stuck pulling in with the boat on the trailer when I first arrived. Our vacation was full of problems with our own boat and the weather wasn’t as nice and we would have liked. The company was A+ as I enjoyed staying with my beautiful family. Could have stayed outside as long as I was with them. From the description listed on line, I thought we would have had much more room inside the Pine. Beds and room were very small. The common fire pit area had to be shared which I was not aware of. The dock area was pretty weedy compared to others in the area. The neighbor (Dan) was a very nice fella and was extremely helpful to all of us. The cost to rent the pontoon seems way overpriced compared to others in the area. Grills were pretty dirty. The pine didn’t have a rug inside the home to wipe your feet on so sand kept getting carried in even though everyone took their shoes off inside. Didn’t see any bugs inside which was a good thing. Thank you Mollie. I asked my family if they thought this was some place we would return to and they said probably not.

Clean cabin. Really nice. I would suggest queen beds instead of doubled. Everything else was great!

Our family of 12 had an excellent experience in both the Hemlock and Pine units! Cute cottages and nice upgraded interiors. Very cozy and relaxed setup with easy access to Lake Hamlin and Ludington. Short drive to a public boat launch at Wilson Hill Park! Super easy to bring your own boat and access the entire lake. Highly recommend a stay here!
