Overall we thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Periwinkle Place. The host was easy to reach if we had any questions or concerns. We would absolutely consider staying again.

This cottage was a great family get away, a 10 minute walk to the beach. It would have been much nicer to have it rented fully stocked with linens, bath towels, tea towels, beach towels, oven mitts etc., however we noticed through the reviews that these things were not supplied so we knew to bring our own. We left some of those items behind for the next people. I would suggest a tv in the basement, for a rec-room feel for perhaps the younger family members. Also, would be a plus to have either tables or dressers in the bedrooms, For now, everything must be hung or set on the floor. All in all, everyone had a great time. Living room was a nice gathering place for everyone back yard is private, and side patio deck was a plus.

Huge clean place. Quiet and mostly private. 2 minute walk to beach with 3 tier steps. Beach was awesome. Nice sandy bottom. We brought firestick for tv and watched some baseball. The only thing I would recommend is the kitchen was in need of a new bigger frypan. We had a wonderful time.

This property did not meet our expectations. It was poorly kept and organized. There are broken patio and yard chairs and the tall chairs in the dining area were unsafe to sit on. Sleeps 10 but only accommodates 6 for meals. The interior was not clean. The ensuite bathroom, although relatively new did not have any towel racks. We could not lay a towel on the counter because of the many tiny ants all around the sink and surface. The refrigerator had to be cleaned before we could use it. We had to descale the coffee maker because it wouldn't drip and the toaster didn't work properly. The kitchen is advertised as being a place where you could prepare your favourite recipes. There were no mixing bowls or spoons, measuring cups or cooking vessels for the oven for food preparation. Three frying pans were crusted with burned food. One large dutch oven pot also had a burnt bottom. One Halloween tea towel and three pre-used sponge scrubbers supplied for cleaning. Lots of dishes, plates cups and flatware but few glasses. Most knives in the drawer were not suitable for food prep. Fans were provided to cool each room. But the airconditioners were ineffective as they were out of reach and no manual for use. The vents of the portable air conditioner in the hall were dust covered, had to be cleaned. The side deck provided a nice shaded area. The nearby beach and Grand Bend provided hours of entertainment.

This cottage is great. Nicely shaded. Lots of space especially in the basement. Beds are comfortable and kitchen had everything we needed. There is a portable air conditioner in the entrance that helped a lot and lots of fans. Pass to the beach was great. There was no bunk beds.

Periwinkle cottage is in our top favourites now of places to stay on Lake Huron. Place was large, clean and everyone felt they had a lot of space. I gave one less star for accuracy of listing because it said a bunk bed but it was a queen bed instead. Pictures were accurate, but wording was not. The master bedroom has a futon as well. The master bathroom is amazing, the other bathroom is small. There is no washroom in the basement where three of the bedrooms are.We were there during a heat wave so we were quite thankful for the lake proximity. The place has window shaker air conditioning but there are fans in every room (standing or ceiling). Luckily, basement rooms stay quite cool. We enjoyed using the BBQ and fire pit and they had tools for both. We recommend bringing oven mitts, tea towels and board games for rainy days. There were no board games or toys on premises for the kids. We were pleasantly surprised that the side deck, with the chairs, table and BBQ was fully gated, so our dog was able to enjoy patio time with us. Thanks for the lovely vacation, we hope to return soon.

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Periwinkle Place. Beautiful home surrounded by forest with only one visible neighbour. Very short walk to the beach through upscale community and walking trails.Think we were perhaps the first guests of the season as the house did not appear to have been recently cleaned and prepared for our arrival.Requires new frying pans and a coffee maker. The need for tea towels and dish clothes should have been relayed along with the email received about requiring bedding and towels.

We were 5 seniors. We had a wonderful time. First of all, VRBO switched over to RentalHuron right after we booked. There were 5 bedrooms, 3 in the basement without a bathroom downstairs. We were informed a few days before arrival we had to provide sheets and towels. No wine glasses, 1 pod for dishwasher, no tea towel, had to ask for added toilet paper, no shower toiletries. Listed was a coffee maker, and turned out to be a Keurig so we had to go shopping for coffee pods. Having said all this, the location was perfect for us - the fall colours were magical, the peace and quiet was wonderful. None of the above ruined out stay. Would just suggest that attention to details would have made this even better.

We booked this property last minute and it was everything we needed for our short stay in Grand Bend. We brought our bikes and were able to explore the paths in the area with our kids as well take short rides to the beach and the Grand Bend strip. We enjoyed using the grill on the side deck and the campfire in the back. Paul was always quick to respond to my questions and concerns. Overall, Perwinkle place made out quick family get-a-way a success.
