This house well equiped for relaxing, cooking, hiking, and anything else. It was fully decorated to keep in the time period of Mount Gretna.

The house itself was charming, and we loved the old style, antiques, and location—it was perfect for our trip. However, the toilet broke on our first night, which left seven people sharing just one bathroom. The check-in process was also frustrating. You have to drive to a realtor’s office, pick up the key from a lockbox, and then find the house. At 10pm after a long day of travel, driving around just to get a key is the last thing you want to deal with. I strongly suggest placing the lockbox directly at the property instead.Another inconvenience is that guests are required to bring their own sheets, towels, and even extra toilet paper and paper towels. There was no coffee provided—not even enough for one cup—and no hair dryer. For the price, the owner really should consider providing more for families, at least the basics. As an owner of five rental properties myself, I felt this one was overpriced given the lack of amenities and convenience.

Just charming and rustic! The kitchen is well-appointed. The overall vibe is old-school lakehouse/ cabin/ camp. The porch is to die for. We had never been to Mount Gretna before, but chose it because it was very close to the PA Renn Faire, which we were attending with our children and their spouses. I would recommend 100%. Please note, the houses are very close together, so maintaining the quiet the neighbors expect and deserve may be difficult with pets.

This 1st Street cottage did not disappoint. The perfect description is a traditional cottage with modern updates in the kitchen and bathroom. If you explore the kitchen and dining area cupboards, there are extensive place settings, serving bowls, and glasses. Also some small appliances. The wrap around porch is a plus. Loved our weekend at this property.

This is a very cozy cottage that feels like visiting your grandparents house or a summer lake/ hunting cabin, very spacious. We had a great time. We loved the porch swing, the smell of wood and old antique furnishings. It’s is nestled into a cute community of houses that have walking paths, everything is walking distance in Mt Gretna. A slice of Americana summer time paradise.

Although it seemed clean, the place was very dark-every inch was dark wood including floors, furniture, and ceiling. Multiple small low light lamps with dark lamp shades add to the darkness, along with lots of trees. The rug in the living room and on the stairs was worn and faded with some stains. This made it feel unclean. The description says that travelers need to provide their own linens and bath towels, but failed to mention there would be no towels at all and no spare toilet paper or paper towels. Many people do not have the size beds that are in the cottage and would have to buy linens just for the trip. The need to pack my own toilet paper was disclosed only after I had paid in full and the lack of kitchen and hand towels was never disclosed, so I had to drive 40 minutes round trip to a store to get towels after I checked in. The instructions given at check in regarding handling of trash contradicted the instruction No extra liners for kitchen and bathroom trash cans were provided, either. Bathrooms and kitchen were clean, though the kitchen was way overstocked with pots and pans, and too many mugs and mismatched glasses. The kitchen had salt and pepper, but otherwise was not stocked for cooking. Overall it was disappointing.

Charming area and home. However, not the best experience for our family due to July heat and power outage. The listing states that cottage is air conditioned, but has only one window unit to serve the entire second floor and one on the first floor. We needed to sleep with windows open which made the fire sirens on both nights especially unwelcome.

Great four-bedroom seasonal cottage for a family visit with siblings coming from three different Pennsylvania locations. While unseasonably cool, the gas-fired fireplace quickly warmed the cottage, ground and upper floors. Enjoyable stay.

Lovely cottage. Beautiful antiques. Perfect layout for our family. So enjoyed the games and the wraparound porch. Internet would be a preferred addition. We had a great time, celebrating our 50th anniversary❣️

This lovely cottage is beautifully furnished with antiques, but also has updated and very functional bathrooms and kitchen spaces. The location and porch are also wonderful. Our group really enjoyed our stay. The only misleading part of the listing is the claim that the 4th bedroom has two twin beds. The one twin bed was very comfortable, but the other “bed” is just a small upholstered bench.

Wrap-around porch elevates outdoor living. Functional kitchen makes meal times easy. Four bedrooms give everyone their own space. And there’s parking! We would be happy to stay again at this quaint and comfortable cottage.

Loved the stay and the peacefulness of the area. The only negative was the one bedroom did not have a twin bed nor single. It was more like a bench with a pad but other than that we loved it!
