Cooperstown, New York
This Quaint 3 bedroom, 2 bath Lakefront Cottage was built as a seasonal home in 1902. In 2019 it underwent a major renovation bringing it to modern day standards for year 'round use, while retaining its original charm.
This sweet home is perfect for a small family or couple seeking a summer lakeside vacation, or a romantic winter retreat. Wake up to gorgeous sunrises from your bedroom windows. Prepare a gourmet meal in the cozy kitchen, snuggle in by the warmth of the propane fireplaces in both the living room and master bedroom or carry your carafe of coffee to the point and watch the sun come up over the hills across the lake.
This lovely location offers the lake right outside your door! Swim from your dock or wade right in from the shore-line. (don't forget your water shoes!!) Bring your boat, if desired. Grill and Dine outside on the spacious deck or relax with your favorite beverage on the chaise lounge chairs by the water.
In the winter, ice-fish from your very own point! Bring your snow shoes, micro-spikes and XC skis for a brisk work-out on the frozen lake, or at nearby trails! Light a bonfire at the fire pit and if the lake isn't frozen, take a cold plunge! There are hundreds of miles of snow mobile trails just minutes from this location.
We are 6 miles north of the village of Cooperstown on the west side of Otsego Lake. The Baseball Hall of Fame is open 363 days of the year (closed Thanksgiving and Christmas Day), so be sure to visit while here!
There is a one car garage you are welcome to use. In the winter, the driveway is plowed, but you may need to shovel a path to your car.
There is a flatscreen Smart TV for streaming in the living room.
There is a large desk/work space for your use. Try not to be distracted by the lake view.
**Things to note:
1.This is an established residential area. The neighbors have enjoyed a peaceful life here for decades, and wish to continue. Parties, excess noise, disrespectful or disruptive behavior is not ok. We ask that you treat our home and our neighbors with respect.
2. There is a team of people assigned to this property to keep things in tip top shape. You may see the following people during your stay; lawn maintenance personnel, gardener, pest control specialist. They will all work efficiently so as not to be intrusive. However, we cannot schedule them around guest stays due to their demanding schedules.
3. We share one dock slip with a local diver and dock installer. They typically come one random day per week for their lake-related tasks, and they park in the driveway on the south side of the house. They are a terrific group of guys ~ if you see them during your stay, don't be alarmed, they harmless and wonderful.
4. The hot tub is not in operation.
Our friends were looking for a great fall getaway location, and this property exceeded our expectations. The renovations provide a warm welcoming environment, while honoring the charm of days gone by. The property and water front are very well groomed, and the view is beyond expectations. The property managers were very communicative and ensured we understood the nuances of the upgrades like infloor heating which was lovely. And, the neighbor Keith was so helpful upon our arrival. A strong positive recommendation from our group!
Lovely
Charming and updated lake cottage. Incredible views of Lake Otsego. We used kayaks and paddle board all the time! Cottage was all we had hoped for!
We booked this property for a baseball tournament. When the air quality was poor, we had the team over for pizza. I received 5 missed calls and an extremely rude and legally inaccurate text message threatening to call the police to have 12 year-olds removed with force because guests are not allowed at the property. No sane person would think the police would do this if they even bothered to respond. I called her back puzzled at the text. Her tone did not change and I calmly explained I didn't see that clause in the contract and I would have everyone leave within the hour. She said that wasn't good enough and I had 15 minutes or she was calling the police. Everyone left at an early and reasonable hour. There was also a rotting and dead animal carcass washed up on the rocks that clearly had been there for a long time. Now she is trying to steal my security deposit which I predicted even though no damages occurred to the property. Fortunately I videoed the entire property before I left to rebut her false claims. Bottom line is no sane business owner should treat guests the way I was treated. I was nothing but cordial towards her and should not have to be treated like and accused of being a criminal for the sin of having children over to eat pizza and swim. Save your money. There are way better options out there.
Perfect weekend trip! Very cute house, wonderful updates, close to town.
A beautiful lakeside cottage, feels like home both warm and comfortable with all top quality amenities as described. Michele is a welcoming and accommodating hostess. Than you!
We came for an ice fishing trip, and the ice never froze. We still had a blast since the house was so nice.
Gorgeous clean cozy house with modern amenities and a really well stocked kitchen. I had to change our dates twice (COVID sucks) and the property manager was incredibly kind and accommodating. Not really close to Cooperstown proper so don’t plan a quick trip to the baseball museum or grocery store. If you are looking for a quiet place to enjoy beautiful views this is it.
House was wonderful and as described. Great kitchen with everything you will need. Utilized outside gas grill and the hot tub many times during our cold winter stay. All communication was quick and seamless. Use of the garage was huge plus during winter weather. Beautiful location on lake with amazing views and close proximity to downtown Cooperstown for shopping, dining, baseball HoF.
Really enjoyed our stay. Host was very communicative and all went smoothly.
