Talk About Kid Friendly!: Climbing Vine Cottage began as a playground and school for young gardeners. Small hands helped grow fruits, vegetables and flowers for their families and our local soup kitchen Loaves and Fishes. Children raised butterflies, caught frogs and identified bugs with the yurt as our indoor classroom. Children will be delighted to sit at the child's table for 4 and use the beading and drawing materials or play with the games and puzzles. There's a play kitchen, tea set and apron, plus baskets with legos, blocks and a well-stocked children's book shelf. Additionally you'll find kid-friendly-adaptive-devices like a step stool, potty seat, and low bench.

For adults without kids don't worry, when we know you're coming we place these materials out of the way, on shelves, etc.

Perfect for a Romantic Getaway: Climbing Vine Cottage makes it easy to find the time for each other. Cook together in a beautiful kitchen or get take out. Cozy up by the fire or climb in bed and watch tv. Better yet, climb up to the loft to watch the stars. Explore the forest and gorge in privacy surrounded by peace and beauty.

I wouldn’t recommend this property enough. It’s everything you want in a yurt structure, and is well constructed with all the fixtures you would hope for inside. Like the Wesley tent in Harry Potter, it feels bigger on the inside. The host is so kind and accommodating. Our trip wouldn’t have been possible without her help and guidance. Truly, 5/5 stars, would recommend.

This was truly the best and most unique VRBO we've ever had! The garden is remarkable and the Yurt itself is beautifully appointed and spacious. The bed is comfy, and we both slept like babies. We will 100% be back!

The yurt and property were in really good shape, and the flower garden off of the back porch was such a nice spot for coffee! My dog enjoyed the little loop for a walk in the morning as well

Our favorite stay of all times! The gardens were peaceful and beautiful the yurt was spacious with all the amenities one might need. The hosts were so gracious and helpful in recommending local places of interest and restaurants. The location was convenient to downtown Ithaca as well as surrounding parks and lakes.

Beautiful and serene property. Had fun visiting the chickens daily (we counted 15!), walking through the wildflower garden and adjoining woods, enjoying the peacefulness of the koi pond, and sitting outside at night under the starry sky. We had deer stop by in the evenings and we even got to see a doe nursing two fawn! Michelle is a responsive and gracious host. The local coffee and wildflowers on the table when we arrived were special touches. We also thoroughly enjoyed meeting and chatting with Michelle's father, George. The yurt itself is comfortable and cozy, and we enjoyed the artwork on the walls. Kitchen was well equipped for meal preparation. The location is ideal for driving into Ithaca for waterfall hikes and sightseeing, museums, the Cornell Ornithology Lab, independent bookstores, and a variety of delicious options for meals. But I would also recommend just strolling around Main Street in Newfield to check out the covered bridge, the King Bowstring Arch Bridge, a one room schoolhouse, and a pop into the Covered Bridge Market & Pizzaria. Our entire stay was so relaxing and just felt magical. We really wanted another day or two, but reality called us home. We do hope to make it back for another, longer vacation. Thank you for sharing your wonderful yurt!

It's clear that this is a cherished and well-maintained property! The host was warm, friendly and welcoming; without her recommendations, we would've missed some of the most beautiful sights to see in Ithaca! Treman park nearby is a must-see.The yurt was super comfortable, and we felt lucky to be a small part of its history. There is a nature reserve behind the property, a beautiful gorge within walking distance. Highly recommend this stay, for anyone wanting a special experience in Ithaca!

Our three young kids (3, 6, 8) loved the Yurt! It was nice to escape for a few days, and Michelle was a great hostess! We enjoyed local waterfall hikes and the children's Sciencenter was amazing. We'll be recommending Michelle and Climbing Vine to friends who also need a fun place to stay.

The property was beautiful. Short paths to stroll and we had the opportunity to pick fresh apples and pears to enjoy with our meals. Very cozy yurt that had everything we needed. Acommodating and helpful host! We would certainly come back again.

The owner, Michelle was very friendly and made sure we were comfortable. We loved being able to bring our lab as we spent our days hiking in the State Parks. We also spent much time admiring the many waterfalls, visiting Cornell University and the Botanic Gardens. The yurt was a bit pricy for the the accommodations and the kitchen lacked a few items needed for preparing meals. It was nice to have the smart tv to watch the Bills game on Sunday.

The (3-6 person) yurt experience is truly wonderful. The yurt itself has an herb garden and 2 koi ponds onsite. Michelle is a gracious and kind hostess who ensured we were well taken care of. The yurt itself is very clean and comfortable and even comes with fresh local coffee! Based on the season, you may need insect (tick) repellent if you plan to traipse through the wildflower fields and woods nearby. We would love to stay here again and hope to do so in the near future.

Our intention was a quiet stay with access to hiking in the nearby state parks. We enjoyed the yurt with our dogs and found it to have all the amenities we needed for a pleasant stay.
