Oceanside Cottage Steps from the Beach! The Gray Sandcastle!

Everything was very clean, just noticed that there was debris under the larger sofa. FYI the outdoor shower is not accessible. The gate/door is hanging on one set of rusted hinges. It looks totally unkept inside. We had a wonderful stay there! Very quiet, peaceful, and private. Just a small suggestion- a very inexpensive full length mirror for those of us that are vertically challenged. I was unable to view anything other than my face in either bathroom mirror. Would not hesitate to stay there again

Very nice get away with our daughter and her baby . The weather was a little rough first night but cheated up after , host reassured us everything would be ok and was normal weather for fall ..answered my every concern and questions .. Grocery, and mall near by and enjoyed the Dolphin tour and the aquarium. We will be back

When we arrived we immediately notice the pictures online look way better than in person. The grass needed cut. There was sand and a smoked cigar on the porch. When we walked in there was tons of flies. Maybe the previous guests left the door opened and used the screen door, which is all ripped. House was way smaller than expected. The kitchen is really small. It would be hard to cook in it. The keurig had mold on the lid where water is stored. Dryer vent wasnt working properly so when using it put all the hot air into the bedroom. The upstairs bathroom doesnt have an exhaust fan. Overall it just wasn't very clean. We left 3 days early.

Good house for 4 adults. The best part is the proximity to the beach.

The house was well stocked with necessities-toilet paper, paper towels, soaps, bath towels, bed linens… and anything you would need in the kitchen. My kids loved the Rec games in the loft. The pull out sofa was comfy for my daughter. The outside shower and hose were great to wash off from the beach. The beach was very accessible. We had a great time and would stay again! Thank you!

Check in was super easy and quick! Its a perfect location for the beach and a really nice house with plenty of blankets and room for a little house. The game room was super cool and my oldest daughter had alot of fun up there.

Our family had a fantastic stay! The house was exactly as described and its proximity to the beach was perfect. Communication with the host was excellent. We would definitely stay here again!

The house was cute, a bit smaller than expected but clean and nice and worked out great. The location is great, easy access to beach and close to a bunch of restaurants and shopping options. Two drawbacks: beds are very hard and make for a tough night sleep, and kitchen is extremely small so plan accordingly if you want to cook.

Interesting property for a team competing in Nags Head at the Pier. Reasonably priced and outfitted providing more space and better accommodations than the hotel nearby.

It was the perfect location! Walkable beach access, outside shower to rinse of sand, games inside to enjoy, close to restaurants, shops and more.

This was a great location for our young family! Lunch and nap time was easy as the short walk to and from the beach was so short. Our area of the beach was less crowded as well.

Cute little house in a great location. However there is a plumbing issue. I would not rent this house until the listing says there are 2 full bathrooms. There is a huge issue with the shower on the main floor. Spoke with Nelene the property manager she was super helpful and did refund us. We were able to move to a new location so we didn't let this ruin our trip.

Cottage was perfect for our long weekend. Nalene was an excellent host and very responsive to any questions we had. Location of the property was great. Steps to the beach but also near many stores/shops/restaurants. Cottage was nice and clean. Loved it.

We loved our stay at the Gray Sandcastle! There was a plumbing issue in one of the bathrooms, but the property manager was very communicative & helped to resolve this issue. Very clean, close walk to the beach, & perfect location! Would definitely stay here again.

The location of the property is unmatched. Approximately 100 steps from the beach and we did not have to cross the road. Unfortunately, there were plumbing issues out of the owners control, so 8 people had to use one shower for our entire stay. The owner did contact a plumber the next day in attempt to fix the issue and was very responive throughout the process. In addition, the grass was not cut to be able to use the fire pit area. Overall, the location made the stay worth it though. Would return again!

We had a delightful stay. Although the house is on the smaller side, it is exactly as advertised and had all we needed to enjoy the trip. Beach access is so close! We thoroughly enjoyed the games in the loft when it rained. Overall, we had a great trip!

House was as described. Perfect for our family of 5. Let 3 teenage girls have the upstairs to themselves. Location was convenient to restaurants & activities. Walk to the beach was super close & beach was never crowded. We would definitely stay here again.

The beach is only a few minutes walk over the dunes, which was fantastic. It is located near town so there is plenty to do. The house has a bunch of board games and a shuffleboard table upstairs. We wouldn't mind staying here again.

My best friend and I wanted to have a short getaway trip before she had her first baby and this spot was almost perfectly between the two of us. The property was very nice and perfectly within walking distance of the beach, we didn’t even need to cross the street! There were also a lot of restaurants and activities all within ten miles. Upstairs in the cottage there were even games to play. It was perfect for our little adventure and just the vacation that we all needed. I would definitely come back to this property again, even for a week long stay. The property owner was also very responsive and easy to get in touch with. I loved it!
