Barnstable, Massachusetts
Craigville Beach, Centerville! You'll want to stay longer for the ocean, river sunsets, and ambience of 'olde Cape Cod' tucked away between ice cream cone walks , sandy beach and salty surf. What a great private hideaway on a sandy quiet street with only 7 cottages--hardly a car goes by all day, long row boat dock, seagulls, Osprey, Swans and blue sky amidst the fragrant Cape Cod roses. Just about 99 steps to the FREE access CRAIGVILLE BEACH (lifeguards in season). Picture book Cottage is a side by side duplex with all your wanted ammeneties including Central A/C, w/d, dishwasher, DVDs, flat screen TVs and of course, WIFI!
The inside of this spotless beach cottage is more beautiful than the pictures depict. But we spent most our time soaking up the spectacular beauty and peacefulness found on the back deck. We took a picture there at sunrise that looks like a Thomas Kincaid painting (which I will absolutely frame). No words can describe the serenity and beauty there, morning, noon and night. The cottage is equipped with everything you could possibly need. (Loved the martini shaker and glasses. ) The place inside and out is completely updated with charming, functional and comfy furnishings. Beautifully decorated. Owners were so helpful with a glitch we encountered when booking. Never needed their assistance after that because the stay was just perfect. We fished off the dock, sunbathed at the beach, went on long walks through nearby neighborhoods and enjoyed great dinners and strolls in Hyannis. Mostly we just kept saying, this place is incredible. We will absolutely be back.
This bright, airy place is on a sandy lane a couple blocks from the beach. We spent many incredible mornings sipping coffee on the deck overlooking the beautiful marshes and then did it again with wine in the evenings. This was our first time here but our second time in Craigville, which is a delight. If you’re a walker, look for the path near the marsh up to the lovely area around the Craigville Retreat Center (Google maps shows it). We also loved picking up dinner at the Barnacle, which is close by on Craigville Beach Rd. If you’re a kayaker and would like to explore the marshes, Amy at Stand Up & Paddle Cape Cod picked me and took me to a boat launch from where I could paddle my rented kayak.
Location nearby a beautiful warm water beach in a private, comfortable cottage made this a memorable vacation . The owner went out of his way to communicate and respond to all questions .. The cottage was well supplied with cooking utensils and paper goods . We enjoyed meals on the private deck while watching nesting birds in the distance . Overall it was very enjoyable and just as described .
This is my annual summer recharge location. Secluded and quiet but very close to walk to beautiful Craigville beach and short drive to Hyannis. Can enjoy mornings on back porch listening to the birds and watching the waterway in back of the marsh. Gorgeous sunsets. Hosted family cookout using the gas grill. Best ice cream is so close we can’t resist dessert. The beach is lovely when busy and empty. House has everything you have at home including laundry and small enough to be cozy. I recommend this place very highly just don’t try to take my weeks :)
This cottage is in a perfect location to relax on the deck, walk to the beach, or visit local attractions. It is a beautiful house with everything you need for a perfect vacation.
This was the best Cape Cod vacation! We fell in love with the cottage from first sight, especially with the marvelous views over Herring River from the deck! We took tons of pictures of all kinds of birds and enjoyed their songs all day long. Craigville beach was just around the corner, so no need to drive anywhere. The landlord was very nice and really prepared everything you could think of for the perfect vacation. Thank you!
The landlord was particularly nice and easy to deal with. The house was wonderful. It was a cozy romantic place for my wife and myself, just steps from the beach, with an osprey nest right out the back window over the marsh. It was beautiful
From the moment we walked into the house and the saw the view of the wetlands/marsh from the rear deck we instantly Knew we were home and felt peace and tranquillity wash over us.
My husband and I very much enjoyed staying in this cottage right by the beach for a sunny week on the Cape. The house had everything we needed, the view to the marsh was perfect for morning coffee and evening happy hour, and the walk to the beach was unbeatable! We’d love to come back again next year!
We enjoyed a great escape for a week to this lovely spot on Cape Cod. We loved the view from the deck of the marsh and spent many hours with our kayaks exploring right from the dock. The birds were plentiful and peaceful to watch. Easy access to the beach just down the street. We would love to go back!
