Meadowside Apartment

Really pleased with accommodation very clean and comfortable but was disappointed where it was situated. Lovely view but wasn't aware it was in a residential housing estate very misleading. Review independently collected and verified by Reevoo

We have just returned from Meadowside cottage. We had a lovely holiday in Fowey. The apartment is a short walk into Fowey although it’s a bit hilly on the way back up! The apartment is lovely with everything you need. It was spotlessly clean on arrival so I felt very safe. It was much bigger than I had expected which was a nice surprise. Unlike a previous reviewer, we had no issues with the shower-in fact it was lovely. The views from the window are stunning. The only thing we thought was missing was somewhere to hang coats etc but this wasn’t a big deal. The only slight issue was that another car was parked in one of the two allocated parking spaces for the entire week we were there. This obviously isn’t the owners fault but may be a problem if you are taking two cars. We had a great time and would definitely return again. Review independently collected and verified by Reevoo

Great view from window and main bedroom. A nice walk in to Fowey and from there you can walk down to a lovely small beach. Very friendly people, anyone will speak to you. Overall a lovely place to stay Review independently collected and verified by Reevoo

The inside of the cottage was very clean and spacious. The view across the valley was absolutely stunning. It was very comfortable for 2 adults and 2 children or 4 adults. Comfy lounge and sofa's and beds. However, it was the little things that niggled. There was no outside tap for when you return from the beach with sandy shoes and costumes and I would certainly not recommend taking a dog - no-where to wash him down or dry him off. The dishwasher door was still not repaired (noticed this on a review from earlier in the year) and it was dangerous when loading. If you let go of the door by mistake it sprang up - not surprising that 2 plates were chipped. The plumbing was also an issue. We were disappointed with the lack of attention given to outside - not a great first impression. Leaves all over the metal stairs and on the door step, which had certainly not been swept in a long time. Weeds, etc. just made it looked un-cared for. To sit outside (as per picture on their website) you had to access through the main bedroom. The small patio was covered in grass cuttings and weeds and when we opened the cushion box it was full of cobwebs and massive spiders!! I did report this to the Kat (A Helping Hand). We had a lovely holiday at Meadowside. We visited just after the COVID-19 restrictions were lifted and felt the property had been thoroughly cleaned and well prepared for our visit. The property is located on a housing estate and close to a footpath that gives easy access to Fowey Harbour (about 15mins walk) and in the opposite direction to Readymoney Cove Beach (about 20mins walk). It is worth finding this footpath, rather than taking the longer routes by the road. Fowey town, shops and quay are around 15mins walk (by road). The owner had a sign to explain the drains were being dealt with during our visit. We had no issues apart from a minor point where the shower in one of the 2 bathrooms, drained slowly. The master bedroom opens out onto a stunning meadow view, with a small patio area to take breakfast etc. The dining table is in the main living room, looking out onto the same view. The kitchen is small, but well equipped with dishwasher and washing machine. There were plenty of kitchen utensils but some of the plates and cups we used were chipped and could have benefited from being replaced. A parking bay is provided for one car, which helps avoid any on-street parking. A handy Premier local corner shop is at the top of the street.
