Loved the coziness. Great for two people Beautiful lake, sandy shallow clear water. Disappointed in spotty WiFi; furniture and extra blankets need a cleaning.
Nice and lovely. Will need to make the trip again.
Had a great time!
We've stayed in this cottage several times before and have come to appreciate the familiarity of this location, which is near to our local family, as well as the rustic charm of the cottage, access to the water, and proximity to the National Lakeshore. This year the main bedroom received a new queen mattress and that was such a huge upgrade to our experience! We love the fact that there is no TV. Wifi was very spotty for us, which is an issue in Leelanau in general, but that was just fine as we really wanted to unplug for the week--and we did! Tips for other guests: Bring your own sheets (they are provided by the host but 100% polyester, which sleeps hot in summer). We will also bring our own pillows next year. There is no really good place to read a book in the cottage--the lighting is low and therefore relaxing, but not ideal for reading--so we'll bring book lights next time. My parents live close by so they always loan us kitchen items and bedding to make the space work for our family. Thanks for the clean, reliable, quiet space to spend our precious week with our family. We look forward to our next visit very much.
The cabin was super clean and included basically everything we needed for the week. The location on Big Glen Lake was beautiful and we had the beach area/dock all to ourselves! It’s close to everything too including Glen Arbor and the Sleeping Bear Dunes. Our labs LOVED jumping off the dock into the lake everyday! We did not want to leave. We’ll definitely be booking there again in the future.
We recently stayed here and absolutely enjoyed our stay! The weather was not the best so we spent a lot more time inside than outdoors but it one of our best vacays. We were able to disconnect from tv and electronics and just enjoy family time! I wish the weather was warmer and not raining because the dock and water area were gorgeous! Glen Lake was stunning and so clear, so hopefully next year we can enjoy the water! This place was perfect for our family.
Cozy, charming cabin in the center of the most beautiful county in MI
We really enjoyed being on Big Glen Lake
My son and I took an after Labor Day trip up north and found a great cabin, warm Glen Lake and wonderful 5 day trip while enjoying weather of the end of summer. Jodie could not have been kinder or more accommodating. I would recommend renting from this kind woman for a stay at this great cottage.
The cabin was in good shape with clean beds and an amazing location on Glen Lake. Jodie was very responsive throughout our stay even though we didn't meet. Our family had a great time and would stay again.
Very nice and clean. We had 5 adults and it was a bit small for that many people.
Property was a wonderful shady cottage (1 of 2 or3 on the property) that sat behind the large house sitting on the lake. Peekaboo lake views from the cottage teased you to walk the brick path next to house where you'd find the steps leading down to beautiful Glen Lake and a nice long dock with very nice steps leading into the shallow cool water (or just play from shore by the fire pit). The cottage itself is cozy and pine walled. It is exactly as described and Jodie the caretaker was very responsive! We had 3 teens and two adults that fit perfectly and even survived with one bathroom *gasp* (I forgot that was possible!). We even survived a week without a TV! That said the husband thinks there should be one for rainy days (which we did have one and a half of) but kiddos survived with just their phones *eye roll*. The very basic kitchen components were there for your needs but it felt like most people probably ate out? Then again we went early on in the season so maybe cupboards accumulate spices etc. as season goes on but being they probably shut down for winter they must have to clean the cupboards out.... ex.; other VRBO's I've been to that rent all year often have oil, sugar, spice etc. that people just leave for next group. Not the case here and its either because it was early in season or its just not practical in a rental only open a few months of year.. No matter, the local grocery will have what you need! A short 10-12 minute leisurely walk from the cottage led to a wonderful French restaurant or a corner store that sells wine or better, Moomer's Ice Cream, from their window. Sleeping Bear Dunes and Crystal River were all within a mile or so of the cottage and Glen Arbor was a 10 minute drive making it easy to stock up at the local IGA or check out the other local businesses. This location was nice and central to all of the other wonderful places you want to visit in the Mitten; a plethora of wineries, Traverse City, Fish Town, Frankfort and Beulah just to name a few....Overall this was a great place to unwind and rediscover what a Pleasant Pennisula Michigan is.
Beautiful property with direct access and great dock on Big Glen Lake, cute cottage with everything we needed and communication was great. Bonus - you can bring Fido!
Very centrally located to the areas we wanted to explore. The bed was comfortable and cottage had everything we needed. Enjoyed the waterfront area of the lot and would definitely stay again.
