Had a great time. Well stocked home
Perfect size, great place to relax after a long day of hiking and nice view. Also, close to everything.
Beautiful no complaints. Dog loved it too
We loved our stay. It felt like we were alone in the trees. Amazing host. All was first class.
My friends and I had a wonderful stay at Maddie's cottage. We were greeted with some delicious cookies upon arriving. The accommodations were great and the location couldn't have been better! You are close to downtown Asheville and to the Blue Ridge Parkway.
This is by FAR one of the best rentals we have rented. Carolyn is SO sweet and her cottage is adorable! Super clean & the kitchen has everything you’ll need. This area is definitely active for bears as we saw them 3x. You won’t be disappointed. We will absolutely be coming back next year!
Usually there is something that I would change or didn't like, but this place is perfect. The host / owner was very nice, as we got to talk for a bit on the way out. Everything was clean, the kitchen had everything we needed, sink and appliances new, coffee pot and filters, plethora of towels, light fixtures as needed, W/D, instantaneous heater, games to play, internet / TV, gas grill, nice porch, etc. Thank you for a wonderful stay.
Our stay at Maddie’s Cottage was everything we wanted and more. Our host was so kind and even brought us champagne for our anniversary. The space is above the garage but very private. It had everything we needed plus extras. Very close to downtown and everything Asheville has to offer. We can’t wait to visit again.
I cannot say enough good things about Maddie's Cottage! It was very well appointed, nicely furnished and attractively decorated. It has a well stocked kitchen and bathroom. The owner lives on the property and is very helpful and cheerful. She even brought me a cupcake for my birthday!! The next time we are in the area we will definitely stay there again!
We had a wonderful time staying at this garage apartment. Upon arrival, the host met us and gave us information on locking our cars up for bears. She also was kind enough to provide homemade oatmeal cookies that were delicious. The kitchen is fully stocked with dishes, cups, coffee, etc. All accommodations and spaces were extremely clean and well taken care of, and there was a decent collection of board games/cards. We brought a small dog with us and found the accommodations to be very welcoming including dog dishes and some toys. The apartment garage is connected to the main house, but you have your own private entrance/ exit. The check in/out instructions, and recommendations were clearly laid out in a binder that we found super helpful. There is an area to walk your dogs on leash between two fire hydrants, so if you're looking to let the dog off leash, this might not be the best location. There were a couple of large spider webs on the stairs that show up overnight, so make sure someone in your group is okay with knocking them down. The driveway up to the house is quite steep and windy. We had no problem with this in our SUV, and are used to mountain roads, but I could see it being a little unnerving to others unfamiliar with this type of terrain, particularly in the snow. Unfortunately, we did not have time to use the fire pit, but it looked lovely. We loved being able to wake up in the morning and drink a cup of coffee on the deck. We also were so excited to see a black bear about 20 feet from us around dusk one night! That was a huge highlight to our trip and the bear tips came in handy. Thank you for a wonderful stay.
We enjoyed our stay at Maddies Cottage. Very clean and safe. Owner is on-site and very welcoming. Highly recommended.
