Northport, Michigan
Enjoy the beautiful sandy beach and manicured acre yard at this 100 year old log cottage. The main house features 4 bedrooms with 1.5 bathrooms. The living room has a wood burning stone fireplace which is perfect for gathering and watching the fire, or a movie on the flat screen tv. The screened-in three-season room runs the length of the house and invites you stare off onto the lake during your morning coffee as well as at mealtime. The guest cottage features 2 additional bedrooms and a full bathroom. A huge lot with a stream meandering through the backyard is the perfect site to unwind and let the kids play. The beach is sandy and groomed, perfect for bonfires and sunrises. The seventy-foot, newly constructed dock with a large platform is the perfect spot for some sunny lounging.
Our family made some great memories together. Watched beautiful sunrises enjoyed playing in the water and fires in the beach at night for s’mores
Nice area, however place could use an update,
Very nice
Our family had a wonderful time. The property is clean and well maintained. The location is perfect. We look forward to staying here again!
This cabin is set on a nice piece of property off of the bay, very close to town of Northport. It feels like an exclusive area since there's a dirt road in front so minimal cars driving through, mostly neighbors. The main cabin is comfortable and offers great views of the bay. Wonderful gathering spot for larger families (we had six, but there could've easily been ten people hanging together). The fireplace is grand and the main room so cozy and charming. Upstairs loft w/ half bath could be considered best room in the house. Last but not least, is the front porch with windows all around and a big table to feast on chili, beef Bourguignon at night and bacon and eggs in the A.M.! (Yes, we are foodies). We took day trips to walk the Sleeping Bear Dunes, ride rented Ebikes from Suttons Bay Bikes (take the ride along the trail to Shady Lane Winery -- highly recommended destination!) and visit most of the small towns, including Leland (FIshtown). We had a very cool and rainy week - boo - but it was still a marvelous vacation. Oh, and Brandon the house manager was very responsive when we called. Thank you, Jon and Lizzy!
This property was absolutely beautiful my family and I had an amazing time .
This is such a classic cottage up north, on a lovely quiet road right across from the water. Perfect for days spent playing in the sand and in the water, hiking some of the beautiful surrounding trails and nature preserves, getting ice cream in town, and taking a day to go down to Sleeping Bear and do the dune climb. This is our second time back and we enjoyed our week so much. Jon is very responsive and has stocked the house to have everything needed and wanted.
We love this place. It's lovely and the cleaning services is great. The double bedroom in the small cottage could use some airing out. Otherwise, it's great
We gathered for a 50th anniversary celebration and there were 12 of us plus our 1st great grandbaby aged 4 months. We LOVED this place. We used every inch of space in both buildings and every couple had their own room which was especially lovely. It should be mentioned that the upstairs room with the full bed is open to the living room below so it isn't as quiet as the other rooms. It does have a sink and toilet up there though which is great. We loved being in the kitchen together where great hilarity ensued and the dining table is wonderfully ample for a huge group. The property is so beautiful .. the front lawn was a wonderful gathering spot and the dock and small beach were even more so. We rented a boat and some paddle boards in Northport but they do have a Kayak and kid's Kayak available at the cabin. The bikes were also wonderful to have on site. It was magical from beginning to end. I recommend a trip to Christmas Cove to experience the force of Lake Michigan outside the protection of the lovely bay. The cabin is obviously loved by the owners who were so easy to work with and Brandon, the property manager, was always available if we needed anything. Highly Highly recommend! It's a quintessential Michigan log cabin ... who could want for more???
We had a wonderful and relaxing time at the cottage. It was well appointed and well stocked with linens and cooking supplies. We look forward to staying there again!
