My husband and 12 year old daughter stayed here for a week. Everything about the cottage is just perfect. It's in a quiet peaceful setting, the cottage itself has everything you need including a large garden area to play outdoor games and it's within an easy driving distance to Windermere, Ambleside and Kendal. We ate in some of the restaurants recommended in the information book - all were lovely meals. Lots of things to do nearby- we climbed Wansfell pike, did the tree trek at Brockhole, went horse riding at Holmscale riding centre, visited white scar caves, did the Windermere boat cruise and did loads of shopping in Windermere and Ambleside. We highly recommend this cottage and would definitely come back again if we holidayed in the Lakes in the future.
