Bring your bikes and pedal along the water. If you take a 25-minute bike ride up the road, you'll reach Todd Mercantile, a rural grocer and bakery. Stop by and grab a sweet treat and refreshments before heading back.
- Todd is positioned halfway between the towns of West Jefferson and Boone, and only 10 minutes from Blue Ridge Parkway access points. West Jefferson's Mountain Aire Golf Club is just a 15-minute drive away, so you can tee up before heading into downtown WJ to chow down. While in town, make sure to check out the many antique shops, art galleries, and boutiques. Visit the famous Ashe Co. Cheese Factory, where you can sample cheeses and watch how they make them.
- Boone is just over 20 minutes away, making it the perfect day trip for sightseeing and shopping. Home to Appalachian State University, you can even travel to Boone to catch an App State football game during the fall. Boone only becomes more fun in the winter, when you can take a trip to Appalachian Ski Mountain for a day of skiing, snowboarding, snow tubing, and ice skating.

- Access: A paved driveway can fit two cars comfortably. Roads in this area can get icy, so we recommend 4WD or AWD when visiting in the winter.
