Booked this property for a long weekend with family. Everything was just as description and photos showed. Weather wasn’t the greatest but the boats the firewood and fire pit the hot tub and fireplace made up for it. We wanted a place to just get away and relax and this place really came through. Thanks Ivy and your team. Oh make sure you like deer because there all around. One little buck would come up on the deck and bang on the door. Not kidding.
We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at the house, thanks to its well-stocked amenities, including toilet paper, paper towels, bathroom towels, and kitchen essentials to just name a few. The house was clean, well-maintained, and as advertised. However, our experience with the host, Ivy was extremely disappointing. Regrettably, due to this, we won't be returning next year as we had initially planned. We hope the owner reaches out to discuss our concerns, as we are still awaiting a response to texts sent to Ivy during our stay.
This was a really nice place to relax for a weekend with friends. After reading some other reviews I was a little concerned that the kitchen would be not great for cooking but this was NOT the case. The kitchen is equipped with everything one would need and more than adequate utensils, tools, plates and glassware. There were spices to use and K-Cup coffee provided as well. The living area is super comfortable and we enjoyed the gas fire place one rainy evening. The bedrooms were also clean and comfortable and I found the beds and linens nice as well. The best part of the property is the lake which is stunning. We built a fire in the fire pit (firewood was provided but I recommend you bring newspaper or fire starters to make lighting a fire easier) and while we sat around it we were visited by ducks and geese and a small herd of deer. We used the kayaks and the paddle boat and floated around the lake one afternoon as well. We enjoyed the hot tub both nights and it was easy to operate and lovely to be in under the stars. The houses next door are pretty close but we were not bothered by that and felt we had enough privacy and space to ourselves. I had great communication with Ivy, the property manager, who quickly answered questions via text. This is definitely a place I would recommend to friends.
The house was lovely, clean, and as-advertised. But, on principle, the last minute demand to sign multiple agreements imposing liability for any number of things above and beyond the listed price was an uncomfortable imposition that colored the entire experience. It would have been one thing to request agreement to multiple contracts at the time of booking, but to spring those upon me only months after booking, with less than a week before arrival, is an unprincipled practice.
This place was a great little get away we needed. The view is fantastic!
This was a perfectly nice old fashioned lake house, and our family had a good time, but there were what felt like dozens of glitches that clouded our experience. Right off the bat, a few things didn’t work until the next day when the host came over — like the gas fireplace, which was supposed to go on at the flip of a switch but didn’t; the TV, which turned out to be plugged into the wrong socket; and the coffee maker, which simply did not work. The kitchen would be fine if there were lightbulbs above 40w, the drawers didn’t threaten to fall on the floor, and the cupboards contained the most basic things, like salt. We were told that salt — and body wash — were personal items. And speaking of personal items, there was exactly one roll of toilet paper in a house with two bathrooms that allegedly accommodates 8 people, and zero paper towels. The host offered to reimburse us for toilet paper and salt, but it shouldn’t be like that. All that said, the kayaks were swell, the firepit a pleasure, and the deer friendly.
Property was more than we expected. Exceptionally clean. Fun items. Granddaughters decided hot tub and hammock were the best. Those items are now on their Christmas list. Hated to leave. The little things impressed us: coffee pods, teabags, etc. Kitchen has everything you need. View beautiful.
This house is a must see. Pics do not do it justice. It is a gem. You are right on the lake and all of amenities are there for you. The paddle boat, kayaks, row boat. The house was spotless and everything we needed was there. The only thing we went to the store was for food. The yard is well manicured, there was plenty of seating inside and out. The hot tub was immacualte and very well maintained. When we were getting ready to leave they were cleaning the hot tub so after every stay this is cleaned etc. Which is a key factor to mention. I cannot say enough about this great property. If i could give 10 stars I would. Can't wait to come back here.
We came for a family getaway. The views of the lake were beautiful. We were told that the cleaners were there the day before our arrival. When we got there it smelled like someone sprayed way too much of some sort of an air freshener, but we opened the windows and sliders and the smell dissipated a bit. The place was a little more outdated than I expected. But overall it was a nice little getaway with the family. Pros: -Fantastic views. -Nice homey vibe -Kitchen stocked with plates, bowls, cups. -the kids had fun taking the paddleboat out with my husband. - hot tub was nice to have. We only used it our last night there, but it was a nice way to end our trip. -there is a groundhog living under the shed- we got to see him a few times which was pretty cool. -the deer passing through the yard in the morning and evening were a hit with the kids. -BBQ and outdoor patio set were in good shape. We enjoyed hanging on the deck on the warmer days of our trip. -we used the pack n play that was at the house and it looked brand new. The baby slept great! -Ivy was great! She responded quickly. -neighborhood was quiet Cons: -There wasn’t really anywhere to store the snacks we brought for the trip (all cabinets were packed with dishes), so we just used the peninsula for everything. -we couldn’t get the fireplace to work. Ivy was willing to come out and take a look, but we weren’t too concerned about using it. Have them check this out before you go if you want to use it. -all of the frying pans in the kitchen were warped and would not sit flat on the cooktop. Updated pots and pans would be a recommendation. - the outlets in the house were a bit wonky. Some didn’t work at all, some only had the top or bottom working. -we thought that the beds were a bit uncomfortable. We stayed in the downstairs bedroom and the bed wasn’t great. I tried the upstairs bed in the room with the porch and it wasn’t much better. But this could just be personal preference as we prefer something a little more firm. -the neighborhood seemed a little run down (lots of potholes on the main rd), but it looked like there were maintenance crews cleaning up/updating some of the common area spaces while we were there.
Just what we wanted! A quiet and relaxing vacation! Once you get through the gate process everything is a breeze. The supplies could use some updating but other than that it was the perfect place to go to spend some time enjoying nature and relaxing.
It was a very clean, quiet, zen stay . We enjoyed the hot tub. Everyone was very accommodating. The host was always available for what ever we needed. The property owner even came and shoveled the snow . Casinos was around the corner . And even tried to go skiing …. Which was great!! Overall can’t wait to go back!
My husband and I just left a 3 day stay and it was by far the most relaxing and romantic getaway we’ve had yet! The hot tub was great, the kitchen was well stocked, sitting by the fireplace was amazing! I would say the only downside is we’ve stayed in other places that kept a stock of small ketchup, mayo, butter packets etc. Those were nice to have in our other places but certainly didn’t detract from this vacation! The most incredible part of the trip was being in the hot tub and watching the deer meander around the yard. It was so cool!
The rental exceeded my wife’s and my expectations. We plan on booking again and brining our children.
