Lake Edge is perched on a steep hillside about 50' over it's private beach. All 43 of the wooden steps to the water were strong and secure as we're the railings. Two scary switchbacks on the lane to the cottage we're really not as difficult as they appeared. The cottage is secluded. Adjacent neighbors were invisible through the trees, though we could hear soft voices. Perfect privacy in which to relax and unwind. The cottage is newly decorated with flat screen TVs everywhere. Great Wi-Fi. Very comfortable and functional. Great deck with a view across the lake. Best two-week vacation yet!
This property was just what our family needed to relax and enjoy the beauty of Skaneateles. The home's deck had the most beautiful lake view in the mornings. The home was fully stocked with anything you might need. We enjoyed the access to the lake for swimming and rented a pontoon boat for a couple days. As others have mentioned, the driveway down to the house took some practice but we were all pros by the end of the week. The Owner was very responsive to any questions we had. A magical place and one we'd love to come back to!
Cottage is nice with lots of room and a great deck. Beautiful views of the lake and a wonderful dock. The cottage is well equipped to help people enjoy their stay. The owner is easy to work with and very responsive. We enjoyed are stay with our children and young grandchildren.
Very nice weekend.
We loved our week at Lake Edge. The house was cozy, clean, and a perfectly decorated lake house. The stone beach was perfect for our two kids to spend their days. The layout of the house is perfect for a young family, the loft provides a great space for the kids to spend their indoor time and gives the adults room to hang in the kitchen and living area. We'd come again in a heartbeat.
Nice, tidy, comfortable lakeside lodging with working AC (big bonus) and a great deck overlooking Skaneateles Lake. A series of wooden steps leads to a secluded rocky beach with fire pit and serviceable dock. Throw a tube jig off the dock at twilight and you might catch a nice smallmouth bass (we did). Be prepared for a steep, paved driveway that looks intimidating but is very manageable; we visited in a full-size pickup and had no trouble. Craig was great to work with and very accommodating. All in all we had an outstanding visit.
Great Lake-front home. Perfect for families. The shaded location kept as cool all day with very little need for the AC. Friendly neighbors. Close to town.
The other reviews are spot on. Pics are extremely accurate. We had a great week of pure family time and it was awesome. Rent a pontoon at the marina and get out on the glorious lake.
This was our first time vacationing with a group of friends in the Finger Lakes region. We would definitely recommend Lake Edge to any small group of friends or family vacation in the Skaneatles area. The house was perfectly located on right on Lake Skaneatles, close enough to get to town and around the area, but also secluded. We swam in the lake everyday, fished, biked, jogged, hiked, kayaked, canoed, played games, wine tastings and brewery tours - everything we set out to do on vacation and more. The windiness and steepness of the driveway to the house is intimidating at first, but after the week we were masters.
We really enjoyed our stay. The house is beautifully situated - just as the picture suggests - facing east over the lake. Everything in the house was ship shape when we arrived. We never did learn how to work the upstairs TV, but we did not want to watch it anyway. The driveway really is steep, as are the stairs to the lake - the car got used to the driveway - I thought of the steps as good exercise! Really lovely place.
