Stayed Jul 7, 2025Beautiful lake home. They only had tin beer glasses could have used some glassware. The electric plug in for microwave and toaster oven tripped over and over hard to use the appliances.

Stayed May 18, 2025I booked cabin in early March and two weeks before our stay in May told host we would be fishing. Property description showed dock in photos and said it would be installed in late spring. We arrived on May 18th, dock and boat lift was in front yard blocking lake view (eyesore).I contacted Host she said owner was working on it. Had to haul our boat and trailer a 4-mile trip to launch boat every time we wanted to fish. Very difficult for two seniors. Grass was 8 inches high full of ticks, was finally mowed on 4th day, nails sticking out of floor, kitchen ceiling light fixture had wires hanging out of it, outside trash containers had wood and heavy concrete block on top, one was already full when we arrived., front deck had leaves and sticks on it. sliding door wouldn't open ,track full of debris. Upon return asked host about a partial refund, after 5 days nothing, no answer to email or phone call. Very disappointed.

Stayed Aug 18, 2024. Mostly the kitchen floor had water seeping out of the seams all across the of kitchen sink area. It was a slippery mess. The owner had to call a plumber for the 6th time. They said they had to pay and we could have fixed it ourselves if we would have moved everything and put a screw in. Check in was delayed an hour because they couldnt get the work done on time. One of the side docks came out of the water and stood straight up on end, knocking my son of 100 lbs off. Could have been a serious injury with shallow water. The lake was very clear with a sandy bottom . The owner would not compensate us at all in any way at all for the inconvenience and incidents. I would check on all this before i rented it.

Stayed Jul 7, 2024We had a GREAT experience at this cottage. Perfect location for a quiet getaway for our family of 5. Black Lake is beautiful. The shallow sandy bottom edges are perfect for kids (and adults) to hang out in. We all enjoyed the property’s blow up paddle board and floating mat, as well as the blow up kayak for cruising around. Our oldest son fished from the kayak morning and night. Inside, the house was just right for us. Cozy, clean, very welcoming and pretty much exactly as described. The cottage could use a bit more plates and bowls for the kitchen, but that’s nothing really. Paper plates worked just fine for us. The rest of the kitchen was well stocked with pots, pans and utensils. Bathroom was well stocked also. All in all, a lovely cottage and location.

Stayed Sep 22, 2023We appreciated this place and its availability and welcoming of pets. Just wanted to say that someone else's dog is going to the bathroom in the yard (which we cleaned up too), there were dirty dishes in the cupboards, and the water reservoir on the coffeemaker was very dirty. We cleaned that out too. So some attention to detail is needed but I would go back!
