LAKE LIVING AT ITS FINEST. Cozy cottage with wide water and mountain views.

We had THE BEST time staying at the lake house. I only wish we could have stayed a little longer! The house is cozy, open concept kitchen/dining/living so great community space for family/friends. The zero entry into the lake and the deck are just a dream. The weather was perfect, we brought floats and just floated around and layed around the deck a majority of the day. We had a seafood boil out on the deck table at night and enjoyed time by the fire afterward. Scott was attentive when we had any questions or concerns….I will definitely be back. Probably more than once! 100/10. If you’re looking for a quiet getaway with family and friends and like being outdoors on the water, this is your place. Thank you, Scott!

The view from the screened in porch is beautiful. The dock with plenty of seating was very nice. Easy access to the beach was wonderful. There were many repairs when we were there that needed attention. The couch and chairs in the picture had been switched out for a couch very old and uncomfortable. The basement was uninviting to sleep or hang out.

Overall wonderful. It appears the cleaning was surface and possibly rushed. found a vaping device under a couch cushion, and dust in the bathroom on the toilet tank. vacuum cleaner overheated 10 minutes into using it. pots for cooking not the best, thankfully, my son-in-law's parents live nearby (didn't know this before renting so really nice surprise) so I was able to secure a griddle and cast iron frying pan. I believe the one smoke detector I could find wasn't working.

Second stay in three years at this property. Fantastic memories made. The house and amenities were great and we will be back.

Very nice owner. Quick to respond. Main level and deck are great. However the basement level and its second bathroom are dark and uninviting.

This latest stay at the Huddleston lake house was our second, a return from last year, which expresses our satisfaction. The location is a perfect summertime getaway for a family that enjoys water activities with a view!

The house was perfect size with a nice size deck nestled in the trees. It was great as it was the hottest week in June!!!

Place was awesome , hope to be back next year !Owner was great to communicate with answered all questions! House was up lifting a was everything we expected! Plenty to do , easy to keep five year old occupied!

It clean. There were no linens, the owner warned us about 2 hours down the road. There was only one bathroom inside. The furniture was worn and out -dated . the deck and the lake were beautiful and with our little family there we had a great time, no thanks to the lodging. I used to own a rental vacation house so I kinda know what to expect. I had to apologize all weekend, because of the accomanations. Never again

Beautiful with Great Lake access

What a little treasure this cottage is! Amazing views of the mountains and lake with great water access. Pros: Scenic views, walk-in water access (great for kids/dogs), water toys (2 kayaks, 2 SUPs, 1 canoe), lovely dock to lounge on (plenty of seating with hammocks, outdoor table, polywood chairs), firepit great for s'mores, foosball table in the basement (a hit with the kids), stocked kitchen with items you need (crock pot and the basics), beautiful vaulted ceilings in living room, enjoyable screened-in porch, extra large couch and dining table for larger families, lovely [newer] sliding doors to porch - the list goes on. Cons: Main bathroom was a bit tiny and dated, basement bathroom was a no-go for my crew, spiderwebs were excessive (a quick broom sweep helped clear it up for our stay though), campfire chairs were sun-dried and brittle, basement appears to be a work in progress, grocery store was a bit far (plan ahead and you are fine!). All in all, it was a great stay and I would recommend! You simply cannot beat those views and being located on a quiet cove on the lake. Truly a gem!

Perfect cottage with a great view. We had a wonderful Mother/Daughters weekend.

My husband and I really enjoyed our stay here with our dog. The beachfront access is hard to find for our senior dog to enter the water & swim. The house was spacious enough for us with the large sectional & roomy screened porch area. The shower was a bit small but otherwise the house was a nice. The water levels changed quite a bit before & after the rainfall but ultimately our time here was awesome and the place was a relaxing getaway.

Another great stay at “Lake living at its finest!” This sweet little cottage was perfect for our end of summer SML visit. Our favorite spot (next to the awesome wide lake view from dock) was the cozy screen porch-from morning coffee, lunch, to wine-time and dinner- this was our go-to indoor space. Can’t wait to return.

Very nice would stay again

The home includes use of canoe, 2 kayaks and 2 paddle boards. We had our teens and some teen friends, which this house was perfect for. The dock is perfect to swim off of. We rented a boat for the week from Parrot Cove (most affordable option) and easily pulled up and tied to the dock. The owner was responsive to small questions. Kitchen has a crock pot and griddle. Grill is propane. All of these little things made our packing lighter and our days more enjoyable.

My family and I have stayed at various locations throughout Smith Mountain Lake and this lake house quickly became our home. All the amenities were as described and access to this quiet area of the lake was perfect. Great mountain and lake views and enough relaxing fun for the entire family. Book early!
