Stayed Jul 3, 2025Where do I begin? This perfectt little property had every needed thing for my week long visit to Ennis. It was located literally a few steps from Main Street (on Hwy 287) making access to perusing the great shops and wonderful restaurants and bars so easy. The spotless house itself was a delight, with such comfy bedding and excellent pillows (so important for a good night's sleep)! And the yard! Simply beautiful and neat as a pin - the numerous aspens were glorious and the seating in the back yard provided a peaceful setting to start the day with a satisfying breakfast (most ingredients purchased from the Madison Foods grocery store a mere half mile up Hwy 287). All supplies required for grilling were standing at the ready. Even had chairs we could sling over our shoulder and take to the 4th of July parade for a great seat. And there;s a neat little bakery literally next store to the house in case you can't wait to brew your own coffee and have a yummy pastry,. Our host, Marina, could not have been more accomodating. She fulfilled every detail needed for a perfect stay and was ready to respond to questions at a moments notice. I've visited Ennis many times over the years, but this vacation was the best! We'll be eager to return to this sweet spot again and again. Feels like home.So glad we found it.

Stayed Jun 28, 2025What a great location for our fishing trip. We would stay again in a heartbeat! The house was a block off the Main Street in Ennis and in a very quiet neighborhood. House was really clean with lots of room. The yard was incredible. We started each morning by enjoying coffee on the back patio. We were in a great location for evening walks around town. The decorations were so cool with many “fish themed” items around the house. Communications were great with Marina as well. We can’t wait to go back.

Easy walk to shopping and restaurants. House was beautifully decorated and well stocked with everything you need for a comfortable stay. Great patio with grill and accessories for a barbecue or just relaxing. Will definitely come back.

Stayed Jun 14, 2025Some places you go for comfort. Some for clarity. And some, like The Caddis Shack, for commitment. Five days at this unassuming little altar along the Madison, and you'll be ready to tell the river all your secrets in exchange for the familiar tug on your flyline. The Caddis Shack isn't fancy, but in Ennis, Montana, it doesnt have to be - the views are the belle of the ball. It's a three bar town with five star fish storytelling. And for the fishing? It was everything and nothing - depending on the day. 10 out of 10 definitely recommend. As long as you keep it weird.

Stayed Jun 7, 2025My husband and I spent several days in this beautiful, cozy cottage. It had everything we needed to enjoy our stay. It’s just a block from the Main St.in Ennis where there were lots to see and do. We loved the backyard and how peaceful it was to sit and watch & listen to the birds with our coffee. Loved it.

Stayed May 24, 2025We came to Ennis for high school graduation of my grandson. The house is an absolute perfect location. Completely silent at night, off the main street, so quiet during the day. The backyard is grassy and sunny and has a patio with a table, chairs, and a ready to go barbecue. The inside of the house is very comfortable and complete. I really didn't want to leave! Highly recommend this stay!

Stayed Oct 20, 2024This was our 2nd time staying here, and we loved it. Cute house, comfortable, and great location. Just around the corner from Main Street - extremely walkable to the shops & restaurants. There is also a nice, new grocery store in town that is very close by - you could certainly walk to it, if you wanted to. Love the fenced in front and back yards. We live in Florida and don’t really have a change of seasons, so we really enjoyed the beautiful trees & the colorful Fall leaves. This area is well known for its fly fishing.& the stunning Madison River. - definitely try it out!

Stayed Sep 18, 2024This house is much bigger inside than the picture would lead you to believe. Plenty of room, very comfortable accommodations. A very short walk to town and a great place to stay and enjoy all this area of the country has to offer. The plate of cookies was icing on the cake!

Stayed Aug 25, 2024My wife and I have stayed at the Caddis Shack for a number of years now. Every time we pull into the drive we feel like we're coming back home. Very little has changed with the house since we started staying there and we like that fact. It's simple, clean and unpretentious. It feels like an actual home and not some sterile, staged real estate listing. And you simply cannot beat the location. Walking distance to downtown and a stone's throw from the Madison. For my wife and I, Caddis Shack is just about perfect.

Stayed Aug 15, 2024It's an excellent place for a single person without a car. I fished every other day and worked online. Several breakfast and lunch offerings and grocery stores are close by. The patio and yard with mature trees are a plus. The W & D means I could pack light and wash often. The extensive array of windows gives the house plenty of natural light. The owner/manager was very accommodating.

Stayed Jul 12, 2024Nice house in a great location. Me and my dad stayed here for a father son fishing trip. Right in downtown Ennis, walking distance to bars, restraunts, and fly shops. The host Marina was very welcoming and made sure the house was clean and we had everything we needed. We definitely want to come back here soon!
