Stayed Jan 1, 1We have just returned from a New Years break at Upper Barn and had a fantastic time as a party of 6 + 1 dog. The cottage is beautiful, very clean and is equipped with everything you need for a break away. The log fire creates a cosy environment and the hot tub is delightful. We did find the owner difficult to contact ahead of our visit when requesting early check-in. Despite calling a number of times and leaving a message nobody got back to us which was disappointing (especially given the contact number was also the emergency contact number that nobody was responding to). Overall a great stay and would recommend.

Stayed Oct 27, 2025Stayed here for four nights and have got to say the beds are the most comfortable beds we've slept in. The cottage was clean although we did notice the skirting boards could have been dusted more. But the bathrooms and beds were spotless. The kitchen had everything you needed and loved the open plan of the kitchen, dining area and lounge. We didn't use the hot tub so can't comment on this. There is one parking space which was ok with us as we only had one car. However, our car is electric so it was a godsend having a charging point at the cottage as you may struggle to find convenient points elsewhere.Overall, we had a lovely break in the Cotswolds and would recommend using this cottage as a lovely base.

Stayed Jan 1, 1We arrived to find the hot tub was cold . Inadequate parking for a party if six . Broken chair in kitchen which my Grandson almost fell off .Very soiled seat pads . Broken chair in bedroom very dangerous lamp not working .Dog hairs found on headboard. Our Grandson lost his dinky car under the settee !We pulled it out and was horrified at the filth and litter underneath. Very very disappointed with our stay and a complete waste of of money .

Stayed Jan 1, 1Lovely and bright dog friendly accommodation in a good location for exploring the Clarksons Farm sights and surrounding areas. As described, the eves in the shower make space limited for those taller in height but for a short stay this was manageable! The beds were extremely comfortable and the underfloor heating in the kitchen kept the downstairs very cosy and warm. The kitchen was well equipped however there were no plastic glasses for outdoor use around the hot tub/patio area which was disappointing. The toaster was tempremental and could do with updating but we didn't use the oven or dishwasher. The fridge and freezer were good sizes. One complaint is that the hot tub was not ready for arrival and given it is such a late check in of 5pm this was disappointing and should be advertised as this altered our plans for the evening. Kevin was responsive and friendly regarding a concern reported however maintenance attended almost 24 hours after this and by which time it was resolved, however also very friendly during this interaction. Overall a great stay and we would recommend Love and Pizza was a fantastic takeaway which delivered from online ordering and Chequers on the high street was fantastic for sunday lunch!

Stayed Jan 1, 1This met all expectations in terms of accomodation and location and was an excellent opportunity for our 3 generations of family to catch up. Many thanks. We had some problems with the washing machine /drier despite the instructions book being there. We suggest that there is a laminated instruction sheet to assist guests(many who may not be familiar with the combined machine). In addition we thought part of the issue may be it needed the filter checking.

Stayed Aug 10, 2025Really lovely property and perfect for a family visiting the Cotswolds. It is well maintained, very clean and visited once or twice a week to check the hot tub but we barley even noticed them as they tended to pop over whilst we were out. The property has most things you would need both in the kitchen and in general and overall we really enjoyed our stay. Thanks for having us!

Stayed Jan 1, 1Our first time in the Cotswolds and Upper Barn was the perfect venue. A little hard to find at first. Having a kitchen and living room was wonderful for the kids to help spread out. Stairs are narrow, but fine. Really enjoyed walking from the place to the downtown area and local pubs and coop. Wouldn’t hesitate to stay here again.

Stayed Jan 1, 1Overall we enjoyed our stay. Spacious, light and airy and the location is a 1 min walk to the high street. Designated parking space next to the barn a godsend. Other pluses: strong WiFi throughout the entire house. Opportunities for improvement: Cleanliness - needs a deep clean. Most skirting boards covered in dust and carpets in need of a shampoo Both toilet roll holders hanging off the wall and the shower door surround had come loose. Needed more than one key as currently you end up having to lock people in the house. The code lock on the gate to the high street was broken - meaning you couldn’t get back in and had to walk the long way around - residents advised it’s been like that for months.

Stayed Dec 31, 1969Upper Barn is a beautiful property in an excellent location just off Chipping Norton high street. The Barn is excellently presented and was a cosy stay for a weekend with friends. There are a couple of improvements areas - the toilet seat in the main bathroom was broken and the shower seal was coming loose which meant water was seeping on to the floor. The hairdryer provided was also faulty. The kitchen was faultless though - fully equipped and some lovely additions of local butter, crumpets and milk was nice. Beds and sofas were also very comfy.

Stayed Dec 31, 1969Lovely barn in a good location for Chipping Norton and all the beautiful villages that surround it. Kevin was a great manager he gave us lots of information on arrival and was contactable when required. There are a couple of things that I would recommend, the outside of the velux windows need a good clean, some you can’t see out of! The toilet seat in the en-suite doesn’t fit and needs changing. Overall we had a lovely time thank you

Stayed Dec 31, 1969Perfect location and perfect size cottage for 5 and a small dog, had everything we needed for our stay. Beds were very comfortable and clean. A special mention, the hot water was on tap, plus the extra gas fire, which we had on at night... a home away from home. Thank you for having us, we all highly recommend Upper Barn.

Stayed Dec 31, 1969We are in the unique position of having stayed in a number of holiday cottages close to Chipping Norton Town center while our home was being renovated. Of all the 3 bedroom holiday lets we stayed in, Upper Barn provided the best value for money by a country mile. It is very spacious, beautifully decorated and very well kitted out with quality kitchen ware, good beds and crisp white linen. There is a dedicated parking bay next to the barn and although it is in the town center, the location is secluded and quiet.. Stay Cotswold helped us to secure Upper Barn for the second time at short notice and communications with them was without fault. Highly recommended!

Stayed Dec 31, 1969My family and I loved our stay at Upper Barn. The check in instructions were clear and simple, the property manager was quickly responsive the one time I needed him, the location gave easy walking access to the Main Street and a grocery store, and the cottage was clean, comfortable, and appointed with all the things we needed.

Stayed Dec 31, 1969Upper Barn was excellent. The quality of the interior is so good and the cleanliness of the place was perfection The gas stove made a real comfy atmosphere in the evenings The EV charger was a nice touch for us as we drive fully electric vehicle The location was brilliant and also so quiet for to be in the town A good selection of groceries shops, pubs, & restaurants within a 3 minute walk.
