Hyannis, Massachusetts
Our quaint 1950's classic cottage, cozy and charming, was totally rebuilt as a classic Cape Cod Saltbox in 2017. On the edge of the ocean close to the Hyannis Yacht Club, it is ideal for 2 couples, a small family of 4, or singles. We rebuit the cottage to include a large loft in crisp, European style. It offers year-round amenities, WIFI, basic cable service, AC & heat. The sunny living/dining room features vintage antique and modern accents. Relax on the comfortable sofa that converts to a queen bed, or slip onto the loveseat to finish your favorite book. The corner desk is great for projects or checking email. The loft has a queen bed and bunk beds. The new bathroom is light and airy with a cathedral ceiling and skylight. The new galley kitchen has modern appliances and a stack washer/dryer. Note: there is no dishwasher. The lofty cathedral ceiling sports skylights with bright sun all day & a ceiling fan to keep the breezes flowing. The new sliding door extends the kitchen onto the sunny, private deck, with dining/deck furniture and gas grill.

Lovely property. Had a bit of excitement when the hurricane came close but we were provided with everything we needed and the owners came to their home nearby to make sure everything was as it should be . Would definitely rent the same property again!
I absolutely loved my stay at Elaine's and John's Hyannis cottage! It was a perfect fit for my family of two (myself and young child). The location cannot have been better: truly a 3-minute walk to the beach and yet an easy bike ride (on a dedicated and well-maintained bike path) to Main Street Hyannis and the ferries to Martha's Vineyard and Nantucket! I enjoyed having a quiet house and peaceful setting to retreat to after a long day enjoying the outdoors. My child loved being out in the yard that was sized just right for running and jumping during lawn games. The cottage was well-appointed and has all you need to enjoy your vacation. And, the outside shower is a huge bonus! Out hosts were in touch and able to answer any questions quickly. They are lovely. Thank you!! We look forward to visiting their property soonest!
The house was just as advertised. Extremely cute on a quiet dead end street of similar houses. A 5 minute drive to downtown Hyannis and 5 minute walk to the beach. There isn’t any privacy since there is just a loft with sleeping quarters and no bedrooms but it worked out fine for us. The owner was very responsive via email and text with information and answers to questions. I recommend this adorable cottage for a stay on the Cape.
The cottage is extremely clean, cute, and cozy. Neighborhood is very quiet and a quick walk to the beach. Elaine is a wonderful host and a joy to talk to! Hope to stay again someday!
My family and I really enjoyed this cottage. Very cute and confortable. We loved the deck, had almost all our meals outside. Kitchen is a bit small but it works! Very handy to have washer/dryer. The area is nice and quiet. It’s a short walk to the beach but we didn’t love it so we drove to other beaches and paid parking… Great communication with owners. Thanks Elaine and John!
A clean and beautifully kept cottage, in a quiet neighborhood—but close enough to downtown, the grocery store, coffee breaks and the beach! Excellent communication from the beginning of booking through checkout!
Immaculately maintained and super comfortable property within walking distance of beach and Hyannis restaurants. Easy to use, brand new appliances made for a very pleasant stay.
Small cottage suitable for couples Very clean in an excellent location
Absolutely loved this property, so well maintained inside and out, loved the outdoor shower, location was close to everything. Communication with the owner, was the best. Would give this rental 6 stars. Planning on returning next summer.
This is the cutest, cleanest little house. We felt so lucky to be there and enjoy all that the Cape has to offer using this quiet location to relax at night. The house itself is small but expertly designed and incredibly comfortable. The location is a very quiet dead end street, with other adorable classic Cape-style houses, walkable to a beach (although we recommend driving to Nauset beach for a day), and even walkable to Main Street in Hyannis (tons of restaurants and shopping). I can’t say enough good things about this rental - and the owner Elaine is very sweet. :)
Elaine and John were wonderful hosts! They were both there when we arrived and showed us a tour of the cottage. The cottage has everything you need to a fully stocked kitchen, extra towels and linens and even beach chairs! Place was extremely clean. Beach was 3 mins from cottage and about 15 minute walk into town! Would recommend staying here if you come to cape cod!
This gem was amazing. The pictures on VRBO did not begin to do justice to this delightful cottage. The interior and exterior were immaculate. The beach was, as advertised, a three to four minute walk. The owners were unbelievably welcoming and available. Just plain good people.
My wife and I spent the better part of last week at Saltbox Cottage in Hyannis. Though I was there for medical work, the cottage was as relaxing as if I were on vacation. The location is superb, tucked away on a small side street just steps from the beach and ocean. The decor and furnishings are top notch. No detail to make one's stay excellent has been foregotten. Saltbox Cottage is an wonderful romantic Cape stay for a couple, but could easily be a fun filled stay for a family. We have rented other homes on the Cape; this is by far the best.
Very nice surrondings. No detail has been overlooked, everything you could ask for has been provided. I would give Norris Cottages a rating as to one of the best places I have ever stayed at.
