Had to do some of the housekeeping duties although was charged for cleaning services.
This is a nice little house in a great location near downtown and right by a beautiful trail that goes around the town. We stayed for a week and had a great time!
We couldn’t get TV’s to work.
Stayed in the house with a friend as a base to hike the area - Not the newest but good and clean play to stay!
Older home in excellent location, walking distance to just about everything in Leadville.
Older home, very quaint and comfortable. Comfortable beds
Overall we enjoyed our time here. Kitchen was well stocked. Some of the furniture felt a bit tired, especially the room that had broken blinds, dresser and headboard. Great location.
I felt comfortable and safe in this clean, cozy home. The proximity to downtown was very helpful! Communication with the property management was timely and appreciated! There was a little traffic noise one night, but overall this was not a problem. I enjoyed my stay!!
Nice house with lots of interesting and appealing aspects that made for good experience. The beds were comfortable, the heat worked well, internet was fine, and hot water was realizable, towels and other essentials were available with no frills. The floor was slanted somewhat and the character of the house was very interesting. A great place and close to downtown…all at a reasonable price. My only complaint was that management never responded to my questions before arrival, but thankfully everything worked out, but communication with a human would have been nice along with a garbage can to throw out trash outdoors as instructions dictated.
The house was well organized,, supplied, and clean. We had a group of 4 (2 adults, 2 children 10 and under) it was perfect for our group but much bigger than that and it’s too small. Parking was a little touch and go due to the amount of snow that Leadville got this year. Once we arrived, someone cleaned off the snow for us and we were able to park. I do wish there was a little more direction on the check in form about where our parking was but without the snow I’m sure it would have been easier to tell.
Easy to find, close to town, comfortable, affordable, easy process with clear communication, we would stay here again.
We were beyond happy with this home! We love staying in older homes for the history of it all. And this home was built in the 1880s! So Of course this home is well loved. It’s true to its time and not picture perfect like most modern homes. It keeps its integrity that way. Yes there is some dips in the floor. But you’re staying in a home that’s survived well over a century. So what’s not to love? If you’re expecting glitz and glamour then maybe reconsider Leadville for your visit. Just like this house the city is packed full of history. I don’t honestly think it has changed much from when I visited as a kid. And that’s exactly why we love this town! Noted mention: I knew this home would be great when I found out it’s owner is another Buckeye!
I had a great time staying at the Holly House in Leadville. The listing description is accurate, and I was comfortable and cozy while I biked, napped, and hung out at the house. Most Leadville houses have uneven floors - this was no exception. Once I figured out the pattern of slant between the rooms it was a non-issue. The kitchen was well-stocked for my minor cooking needs, and I could do laundry and household stuff with the included facilities. Summertime in Leadville can get warm, and the ventilation/windows is not great. But the air cools off in the evening and the house usually catches up before bedtime. The proximity to the Mineral Trail is a nice bonus - I did several rides around the area. And the walk into downtown is just about 8 minutes. I enjoyed staying at Holly House - it fit just what I was looking for in a cycling base camp.
Normally, we like to stay outside of town, the more secluded the better! But we loved staying at this cute little place right in town. We rented bikes and did the loop. We were able to stop at the house to exchange our water bottles! There was nothing we did not like about this house and would stay there again in a heartbeat! We even liked the pots and pans, so much that we bought some just like them when we got home! Definitely, good memories were made in Leadville during our stay.
The exterior is a charming throwback to a time gone by, and the interior is accented with some lovely pieces that fit the era, like the lovely dining room set with needlepoint seats on the chairs, yet coupled with more contemporary furniture in the living room for the sake of comfort. The beds are great, the kitchen well-equipped, and the appliances work well. We feared that the ultra- cold nights during our stay would challenge the heating system, but we were perfectly comfortable. The bathroom is not elegant but is clean and functional. There is ample street parking, and an added perk is the house is eco-friendly with a solar paneled roof.
This is an old house, but it is very clean
