The authenticity of the train car was exceptional and was beyond anything I was expecting. I came down to celebrate my birthday along with my teenage grandson. We are both history buffs and was so excited to see how well preserved a part of American history remains!

Stayed May 24, 2025Rating Details: The property manager was adequately helpful. The vacation rental was somewhat dirty. I was more than happy with the location. I was somewhat dissatisfied with the condition of the vacation rental. Overall, I do not recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: The location is good and very walkable to some great restaurants, main street and groceries. The train car was way too cluttered, difficult to find a spot to set down a bag, the main bathroom had a rotten out door because the shower leaks so much, quite dusty and felt dirty. The AC unit did not cool down the bedroom or kitchen of the unit - and we were there on a 92 degree day, not the heat of TX summer. The idea is great, but execution mediocre at best. Needs quite a bit of TLC as someone else mentioned last year.

Stayed Mar 13, 2025This historic property made our 44th wedding anniversary memorable. The location was walking distance from downtown. We highly recommend staying here if you want a unique experience.

Stayed Nov 28, 2024This was one of the most unique stays! You have to stay here on your stay in Fredericksburg! The train car was decorated in authentic (or what appeared to be) furnishings, especially highlighting President Theodore Roosevelt. It was bigger than expected. The days and nights were very quiet and peaceful. It will help if you bring a small flashlight to use if walking back at night because it can be dark as you approach the train car. The hall/walkway down the train car is narrow, so it would not be comfortable for overly large individuals.

Stayed Oct 20, 2024The Pullman is an interesting step back in history. The preservation of the railcar character adds to ambience. The Pullman is a nice place for a romantic getaway. Only drawback was the people trying to use it as a background for photos. The steps are a little step to the entrance but not horrible
