Asheville, North Carolina
Welcome to the Cozy Cottage in the heart of downtown Asheville!
Our Cozy Cottage on Church Street is an Architectural Jewel nestled among the few historical homes that line this charming street.
We are the only licensed 'Whole House' (stand alone house, not an apartment in a high-rise) rental in Downtown Historic Asheville! You will enjoy the entire house to yourselves! Whether you are a group of friends, a family, old classmates, art or nature lovers, a study group, foodies, or golf buddies, this is the downtown home that offers everything you may need to refresh, re-unite and build wonderful memories together. This is cottage is the perfect place for 2 to 3 couples, a small or large family or a group of friends (4 separate beds).
Our charming cottage offers plenty of free parking in the rear. No need to drive into downtown and search for an exceedingly rare parking space as most restaurants, shops, galleries and museums are only a short walk away.
Our guests love spending time on our shaded and relaxing large front porch, a great place to visit with each other, enjoy a cup of coffee in the morning or a glass of wine in the evening. The porch overlooks a small front yard with an artfully designed Mountain Laurel fence. The large back patio offers plenty of seating to enjoy a meal outdoors or just to hang out together. If you prefer to eat in and relax in the warmth of the adjoining dining room, enjoy our fully functional kitchen (large French Door refrigerator, dishwasher, stove, oven, microwave and plenty of cabinets and utensils for you to use). The living room offers a cozy environment for reading, movies, games or just visiting with your friends and family. The house has two Smart TVs (SLING subscription), both with a DVD player. The cottage has 2 bathrooms. The second floor bathroom has a Jacuzzi tub, the downstairs bathroom has a shower and is equipped with a washer and dryer for you to use.
This 120 year old historical cottage has been completely restored in 2005 and is equipped with all the amenities of modern living yet keeping the ambiance of yesteryear. All new plumbing, electrical, HVAC, roofing - our cottage is in perfect shape. We added a brand new large walk-in shower to the Master Bath and a brand new (Feb.2023) custom tiled shower to the second bathroom. The heart of pine wooden floors, stair railings and pocket doors are original to the house and have been beautifully refinished.
We are only a short 7 minute drive to the Biltmore Estate and many other highly sought after local attractions. The Biltmore Estate, built by George Vanderbilt, is the largest privately owned home in America. The Estate is world famous for replanting their splendid gardens each season. They own one of the most amazing private art collections in the world and their winery and culinary tantalizing restaurants are highly acclaimed. If visiting Asheville in December, a visit to the 'Christmas at Biltmore Estate' is a must to experience. The Grove Park Inn has an amazing 'One of a Kind Nationwide Gingerbread Exhibition & Competition', held every December and the Grove Park Inn's enormous double stone fireplaces are to be enjoyed with a steaming cup of hot chocolate (I promise, it is an unforgettable experience!!). We have made both of these events our annual Christmas traditions since discovering Asheville in 2003. We are within walking distance to the newly redesigned Pack Square Plaza that enjoys outdoor concerts and festivals throughout the seasons. Downtown is full of wonderful diverse restaurants and coffee shops, unique boutique shopping, award winning art galleries, quaint grocery stores, museums, theaters, architecturally delightful buildings and historically significant monuments and landmarks. All of this and much more are just minutes from our lovely cottage enjoyed by foot.
Hiking, mountain biking, canoeing, rafting, winter skiing, snow boarding and motoring the Blue Ridge Parkway at any season is a delight. Explore and enjoy Asheville to fully experience why it is rated one of top tourist destinations.
We provide a clean and safe environment for you to enjoy, a true home away from home.
We look forward to seeing you soon.

Great location for getting around downtown but very loud. We live in a city and are use to ambient noise but we heard sirens at least once a night, jack hammers at 6 am, and the local music venue late at night. Prior to booking the house I did inquire about the noise level but was told it was a very quiet and peaceful street. Since we would be traveling with a 10 month old I asked about a crib or pack and play and was told he thought they had one we could use. It turns out they did not have one so I rented one from a company in Asheville. The company needed to drop it off before we arrived in town and I was charged $35 for the house to be unlocked! The person in charge of renting the house not only charged me the $35 but then told me I could rent a pack and play from him for the same price. I have NEVER stayed somewhere that charged me to use a pack and play or crib! We also asked for a late checkout but were told it was not possible even though the house was going to be unoccupied that night.
Absolutely charming home within walking distance of downtown Asheville. Beautifully decorated with all the comforts of home. Morning coffee on the porch and a quick walk to the heart of downtown with wonderful shopping and great restaurants. We hope to return again!
We booked the Cozy Cottage at the very last minute (the day of) for a weekend getaway. The manager was very helpful throughout the entire process. The cottage is just blocks away from the heart of downtown Asheville. After parking our car at check-in we didn't need it again until we checked out. We ate all of our meals out, but the cottage seems to be fully-stocked with all necessary cookware for cooking there. It was just my wife and I attending this time, but there would was another spacious bedroom and a kid's bedroom alcove as well making this a good place for family getaways as well. Last time we visited Asheville, we gave up some in amenities in order to be close to the city. This is the best of both worlds. A great kitchen, great living room area, anything you could need. My wife and I remarked that this would be our dream urban home: a cozy little home right near the city.
We loved our stay at the cozy cottage. The house is wonderfully furnished, everything is very clean and functional. Great upstairs bedroom with large bath. Nice and quite neighborhood. Very convenient to downtown attractions. We will consider staying again.
The location is excellent for visiting downtown Asheville. The house was decorated beautifully and very clean. Owner was easy to communicate with. I would definitely recommend! We hiked trails along the Blue Ridge Parkway, ate at Tupelo Honey, and enjoyed downtown.
5 of us met in Asheville for kayaking, mountain biking and rock climbing. We found the house to be a great place to rest and regroup before walking out the door to numerous restaurants and watering holes. The house was clean, very cozy, had lots of parking and very conveniently located. I will look to stay at the Cozy Cottage next time I'm in Asheville.
My wife and I just spent three nights in the home on our first visit to Asheville. We would stay here again in a heart beat! Great location to enjoy downtown and all it has to offer. Owners did not forget anything....very clean and so much more enjoyable than a hotel room. Quiet with off street parking. We felt like we were at home. Park the car and enjoy!
This home is even more charming than pictured on VRBO. It truly is located right downtown as it states. We loved being able to park our cars without a worry and walk everywhere. We enjoyed the following places, The City Bakery is where we went for our morning stop for pastries and freshly baked rolls, (only just a few minutes from the house). We saw a movie at the theater on Biltmore and then, we went to The French Broad Chocolate Lounge---and I must say, the liquid truffles were awesome. I'm still dreaming of another liquid truffle. Kubo's Japanese Restaurant on Biltmore had the best Sushi, that we possibly have ever eaten. We were fortunate to see a free outdoor concert at Pack Park, again just right up the street, what a beautiful experience under the mountain skies at night. We fell in love with Asheville and plan to make this cottage and Asheville, our home away from home. This home exceeded all our expectations. There was so much more to see, we can't wait to go back. Thanks for the wonderful stay and memories. Cindy and family in Texas.
2 Adults & 4 Teens!!! What a weekend! Your cottage is in the HEART of all the action!! 2 Blocks from downtown, coffee, shops, churches, activities, Art Museum and Restaraunts!!! We had a short drive to Chimney Rock (35 min).......Your Cottage was PERFECT! So Immaculate, well decorated, new appliances and EXTREMELY comfortable BEDS!! We LOVED the Direct TV too (Football weekend!) The mornings were spent on the large front porch drinking coffee and people-watching. The kitchen had everything you could imagine, you left us needing only the clothes on our backs & the food we consumed!! The whole family wants to visit again soon!!! Thank you for allowing us to make the cottage our home for the Labor Day weekend- we will definately be back again soon!
Fabulous house, great location! My family and I had a wonderful stay in the heart of downtown Ashville. This warm and welcoming home clearly exceeded our expectations. It is exquisitely furnished, maticulously kept, and filled with architectural details; not what I expected from a rental. We couldn't have asked for a better location either; only two short blocks from the restaurant-linned Biltmore Avenue. My family and I walked in the cool, dry mountain air for breakfast, lunch and dinner. We frequented The Green Sage for Coffee and breakfast muffins...awesome! For dinner, Kubos, an elegant Japanese restaurant was first class. If you're into music, The Orange Peel, a small concert venue is only a block away. I was the first to wake in the mornings, so I would don a pair of running shoes and run the scenic downtown area in wonderful mid-summer 65 degree air, a refreshing break from sweltering Charleston. I can confidently say we had a great vacation in large part because of our choice of homes. I give this house my highest endorsement; we're definetely going to stay there again.
