Beautiful restored home! Glad they provided a book with info and pictures of the renovation. Kitchen was well equipped with nice appliances, pans, dishes, and glassware. The bikes were great for taking a ride around the historic areas. Loved our stay.

Awesome stay, Alison is an amazing host. The Cottage on Congress felt like home, as soon as we walked in the door. Excellently appointed and decorated beautifully. Great location, within easy walking distance to downtown Beaufort. Super clean and pet friendly made it the perfect place for our Easter weekend. We look forward to staying with Alison again.

This house is a gem - exquisitely restored, designed and decorated. There is great attention to detail - whatever you might think you need, it is there! The kitchen is well provisioned with high quality cookware and dishes. The towels were excellent (and plentiful, if you have more than our 2 staying). Everything was clean and neat. Despite being near a major road into town a half block away, the house is quiet, especially at night. The porch is a wonderful respite on a nice day - with rocking chairs and swings (and overhead fans if you need them). The house is right across the street from Magnolia for an easy breakfast or lunch. The neighborhood is clearly in transition, with a new house right behind, and a derelict boarded-up one just down the street; but this should not discourage you. The area felt very safe and comfortable; and a short drive or longish walk to downtown or the historic area. There is a book full of ideas for things to do or places to eat - very helpful. Alison was pro-active and responsive, though we had no problems for her to solve! Check-in was easy. I can think of NO negatives; we had a lovely stay and were happy to come home every day.

This rental is the Gold standard when compared to the many VRBO's we've rented in the past. The renovations expertly championed the home into modern times without losing it's historic charm. The host has done an superb job anticipating every client's needs. The comfortable furnishings were selected specifically to accommodate the open floor plan, in contrast with many other rentals appearing to be furnished with grandma's hand me downs. The kitchen was stocked as well as our own. The proprietors provide ample kitchen supplies and toiletries. We are currently reviewing our calendar for our next visit.

All the rooms were clean, comfortable, and exactly as pictured. The restoration was well done and allows the home to offer the charm of the past with all the modern conveniences. The house is in a perfect location for all that Beaufort and the surrounding area have to offer. Communication with the host was timely and very much appreciated. We hope to return to the area and when we do this home will definitely be our first choice.

This property was immaculate and I cannot wait to rebook for next year!! The proximity to downtown is a perfect short walk and I love for the front porch and swings. It was also so nice to actually go somewhere else and be able to feel like you were in your own kitchen cooking and not have to take anything else with you. The gas range and perfectly sharpened knives were such a nice surprise. There's also your washer and dryer on property so we were able to clean our clothes before I left. It made unpacking with children. So much easier. We also found it beautifully decorated and it was easy enough to childproof the house for our 14-month-old.

This was our 3rd time staying at this sweet house. It is so comfortable and welcoming. The house is furnished with everything you need (I love the washer and dryer). We really like the location. We can see the marsh and Beaufort river from the front porch and it is walkable to downtown. We also love driving to the surrounding islands. There is so much to do and see in and around Beaufort! The host communicates with you before you arrive and is easy to get in touch with if anything is needed. We hope to stay here a 4th time someday!

Alison was wonderful to work with and the home was beautifully and lovingly restored. The location is in the historic district of Beaufort and very convenient to Bay St. and many restaurants and shops. It is very close to high traffic streets though but we soon learned how to avoid those. The front porch is a great place to read and sip your favorite beverage—our dog enjoyed watching birds and squirrels from there too. All in all we had a fabulous visit and look forward to returning soon.

Loved the property….neighborhood was quiet. Few houses down the street that were in poor condition. Never felt uncomfortable. Liked the security system. For privacy, needs to be curtains or blinds on windows on each side of door. Also could use an extra hook or two in the master bathroom. The history of the house was interesting and restoration was amazing . Very comfortable and well decorated. Would stay there again .

This beautifully renovated Freedman's cottage, filled with history if only walls could talk, is a joy to stay in. This was our third year and we enjoyed every moment. This property is absolutely beautiful! Truly one of the cleanest and well-equipped properties I’ve ever stayed in. You’re drive to popular locations, such as Bay Street and the water, is very short but the neighborhood is very quiet. The owner is very helpful and accommodating, even allowing us to check in early due to housekeeping being ahead of schedule. If we’re ever back in the area, this is where we’ll be staying!

This historic remodel is our favorite so far! This home looks and feels like an old home, but all modern needs have been met. Both bedrooms have very comfortable beds and wonderful showers. Great for 2 couples. Short walk…plenty of parking for those of us who drove…great shops and food. A visit to Beaufort, SC is a vacation well spent. Alison was wonderful and so helpful!

This is our third stay in Beaufort and 722 Congress Street has been EXCEPTIONAL. The beautifully restored historic home, in the Historic District, is beyond charming. Just pack an overnight bag, nothing else is needed once you arrive. Everything you would need is here waiting for you. I caught myself saying Let's go Home and sit on the front porch. Alison responded quickly and was warm and welcoming. We hope to return soon.
