Stayed Sep 25, 2024Absolutely beautiful cottage in a perfect Aiken location. We came up for a wedding and unfortunately Helene hit on our second night there. We were without power but thankful the owner stocked the cabin with water and snacks. She checked on us in the morning and even let me drive through her backyard to get our car out as downed trees had blocked every exit. Will 10/10 book again when we visit next. Thank you Catherine!

Stayed Mar 20, 2026Loved the location of this charming red roof house! We enjoyed several walks through the Hopelands Gardens after reading its history in the book provided by owners. The owners thought of every home amenity from tissues in every room, chilled water in the refrigerator, snacks and toiletries often forgotten when traveling. We would definitely return.

Stayed Dec 26, 2025We had a wonderful stay at this charming cottage and couldn’t have asked for a better place to gather with family. The house was exceptionally well stocked with everything needed for a comfortable stay, and it was spotless throughout. The holiday decorations were thoughtful and tasteful, making our time there feel extra special. We chose this location as a halfway meeting point for our family, with everyone driving all day to get there and it was the perfect setting to exchange Christmas gifts and enjoy time together. We also loved exploring the beautiful downtown in Aiken, which is just a short distance away. The little touches truly set this property apart — chocolates left on the bed, embossed toilet paper, plenty of spare keys, and a detailed visitor’s book with clear house instructions and great local restaurant recommendations. Everything was clean, comfortable, and clearly well cared for.You can tell that the hosts take great pride in their home and genuinely want their guests to feel welcome. We would absolutely stay here again and highly recommend this property to anyone visiting Aiken.

Bathrooms were supplied with lots of extras and the fluffiest towels. Our host was an excellent communicator and made a list of activities and restaurant recommendations that I asked for and as very quick to get back. The gardens across the street were beautiful and a terrific walkthrough. The cottage is Very close to town so the location was great. There are 2 porches that you can sit on and relax and take in the relaxing atmosphere .i would stay here again as it was delightful.

Stayed Aug 5, 2025My husband and I loved this cottage so much that we extended our stay! The cottage was much bigger than I thought and every room in the cottage was lovely. All VRBO hosts should be this thoughtful....there was coffee, snacks, a binder of restaurant recommendations as well as a bowl full of information about SC. I loved little touches like books placed in every room. One of our favorite mornings was when we drank our coffee while sitting in white rockers on the porch just chatting and watching the rain. This Historic Cottage is a must stay and whenever time allows we will be back!!

Stayed Jun 4, 2025Aiken popped up as a middle location between friends in Florida and Virginia so we decided to meet there for a 4 night stay. The Cottage was PERFECT as we each wanted our own bedrooms! The layout was spacious with a lovely outdoor sitting area. The kitchen was great and we appreciated the waters, snacks, coffee available. We were a very short drive to the historic downtown area and walked, and dined, and danced to the music in The Alley Thursday night. The Trolley ride on Saturday (book in advance!) was so fun and we learned so much about the history of Aiken. The point of departure at the Train Museum was perfect. All communication with the hostess was prompt! Thank you for a wonderful experience!

Stayed Dec 13, 2024Quaint cottage very close to Bruce's Field. Kitchen barely gets any heated air, bedrooms get plenty! Cleanliness was not quite up to par...several dead roaches on floors, and skillet in kitchen had something sticky inside the pan.Several coffee mugs were not very clean, and the coffee pot still had grinds from last use. Comfotable bedding and nice towels in bath area. Overall was a good stay, Hopeland Christmas lights were a treat , we walked out the side door right into Hopeland gardens. Easy, quick ride to show grounds. RGD Jr.
