THE COCOANUT ART COTTAGE
Located three minutes to downtown! The Cocoanut Art cottage is a restored 1940s two-bedroom, one-bath house with hardwood floors, a fully-equipped kitchen and dining area, living room and outdoor space. Shiplap walls throughout the home are filled with art by Ringling School of Art alumni including Joseph Patrick Arnegger, Tom Stephens, Tim Jaeger and many more. The space is furnished with comfort and style by a local interior architect, who is also Ringling alumni.
The Space:
The living room provides a comfortable space to gather, read a book, play board games or watch movies. It is outfitted with a 60-inch flatscreen TV and Sonos speaker with a fire stick for Amazon Prime, Netflix and Hulu. There is a workspace off the living area with a desk and 27-inch Apple monitor, 500 Mbps high-speed internet, thoughtfully placed USB C chargers / lighting throughout. Each bedroom has a queen-sized bed, closet, and makeup vanity.
Throughout the home you will find amenities and textiles from the owner’s Kenyan background including cooking spices, tea, organic hand soaps and lotions, and a top-of-the-line Dyson hairdryer. Enjoy the backyard with papaya trees and a vegetable garden. Four beach chairs, beach umbrella, and beach towels are provided.
The Cocoanut Art cottage is designed to bring people together to relax with books, puzzles and movies. Cook a meal in the fully equipped kitchen stocked with Indian spices and gather around the large dining table centering the room. No detail has been missed to make your stay comfortable and memorable. It is large enough for families and friends and cozy enough for couples and solo travelers.

The Neighborhood:
The Cocoanut Art Cottage is situated within close proximity to all that Sarasota offers –art, culture, world-class dining, shopping and white sandy beaches. The cottage is located within a few blocks of the Ringling School of Art and Design, two miles from the Ringling Museum, 12 minutes to the white Sandy beaches of Lido Key and the adjacent St Armand’s Circle filled with shops and decadent restaurants all within a five-minute drive or Uber ride to downtown.
Getting Around:
The cottage is located within walking distance to the Ringling School of Art and Design. Other area attractions are accessible by a short Uber ride. The Bay Runner trolley is available throughout the downtown area with free rides to Lido Key, download The Bay Runner app to locate and ride. The City of Sarasota also offers a bike and scooter share program through Veo, download the Veo app to locate and access. You may want to rent a car if you wish to explore on your own. There are three off-street parking spots available for our guests.
