A great way to enjoy the lake for fishing, wakeboarding/tubing, and seeing all around the lake !!
The beach has 88-feet of sand frontage and great swimming, with a dock. The lake is one of the cleanest lakes in Michigan !! There are no weeds, there is plenty of sand and the water is about 4 feet deep at 50 feet from shore. The lake is deep (135' in center) and is an all sports lake with “quiet times” from 7:30 pm to 11:00 am in which there is no high speed boating – a real advantage for a quiet evening to cruise around the lake, for the fishermen and to enjoy the sunset in peace and quiet. Boating, fishing, jet skiing, sailing, white sand beach, clean water, sunsets – it is all there at your front door. From lake deck, you can enjoy cooking and eating your meals at the lakeside and be a part of the beach scene while being in the shade – or you can enjoy the sun on the beach or the dock. Heart Lake is the perfect location for families with kids, boat, jet skis, fishermen, golfers, skiers, snow boarders, snowmobiles, hunters, bicycles, canoes, kayaks, hikers, bird watchers and more.
ABOUT PROTECTING YOU DURING THE CORONAVIRUS PANDEMIC:
we are taking extra precautions to assure our home is free of Coronavirus. Here are some of the steps that we are taking:
• We learned that many hotels and businesses are using a fogging system that cleans all environmental surfaces* with an EPA Registered Antimicrobial Disinfectant that meets the EPA’s current criteria for use against SARS-CoV-2.
• The quickest way to disinfect a hospital room, an entire basement, or a school gym is by using a fogger or electrostatic sprayer that can create a fine mist to treat objects, walls, floors, and ceilings in a matter of just a few minutes. Electrostatic sprayers and foggers can dramatically cut the time to disinfect large areas. Vital Oxide is one of the few disinfectants that can be dispersed in this manner because Vital Oxide is non-corrosive to treated surfaces and objects. We have purchased a sprayer that our cleaning people will use before you arrive in our home and before they clean.
• The product that is widely used by these institutions including hospitals, hotels, businesses, and more is Vital Oxide. Attached is Vital Oxide’s listing on the US EPA List N as well as the safety data sheet, and the web site is https://vitaloxide.com/ --
• In our home, we are disinfecting Hard/Non-porous surfaces such as railings, countertops, knobs, door handles, tables, and other high touch areas, as well as carpets, furniture, cabinets including the contents in the cabinets, including cookware, dishes, and silverware.
• Please note the following about the use of the Vital Oxide product and its ‘no-rinse” required safety rating so when you arrive, we have done all that we can to provide you a safe and clean environment :
“No rinse required on food contact surfaces” is a safety rating given by NSF International (previously the National Sanitation Foundation). The NSF testing guidelines are a continuation of the USDA product approval and listing program including the FDA 21. Vital Oxide is rated “no-rinse required on food contact surfaces” category D2 meaning Vital Oxide is approved for use in commercial or residential kitchens to control bacteria viruses and mold without the need to wash/rinse the area with water after Vital Oxide is applied.
• For the beds and towels, we are taking extra precautions to assure your safe stay:
• The beds are stripped including mattress pads and the fogging will be used on the mattress.
• We have purchased send sets of ALL pillows, mattress pads, sheets, lightweight blankets, and bath and kitchen towels, and these items are sent for professional cleaning at the Laundromat in Gaylord and we are told they are using special cleaning agents for our washes. With our second set of linens and after cleaning, they are out of service for a week in storage to assure that that we minimize any exposure.
• We regret to inform you that we are taking our beautiful comforters out of service this summer since they are not cleanable weekly. Likewise, we have comforters throughout the home that our renters use for reading, watching TV, or just to snuggle up when chilly. We also are removing these – BUT we have added lightweight blankets for each bed that can be used for this purpose and these will also be cleaned weekly.
• ALL the dishes, silverware, cooking items, refrigerator/freezer, and outdoor grills will be freshened with the Vital Oxide. Likewise, the life jackets that we have in the hall closet will also be fogged with Vital Oxide.
Finally, we have tried very hard to make you stay safe with us, and we are leaving extra cleaning materials for you should you think you want to do more. The boats cannot be cleaned each week as the spray does not work outside in the wind on the dock, but these items are in the sun and the Coronavirus should not be able to survive in this condition.
But if you feel you wish to have more cleaning, please feel free to bring your own cleaning materials, but please follow good guidelines for cleaning including alternative recommendations instead of using Disinfecting Wipes (I was surprised by these recommendations) – here is the link for good practices in using Disinfecting Wipes:

Had a very relaxing time spent with family. Loved the use of all the boats! Beautiful place with gorgeous sunsets! Plenty to do and games to play on a rainy day. As others had mentioned, kitchen was small, but functional. All in all, it was just what we needed before heading back to school!
We stayed at this property for a week and the below is what we liked and dislike. Liked: Outdoor grounds were very accomodating for all of our needs/ wants The dock was nice and frequently used The outdoor kitchen prep station was used and a nice addition to the grill area We used the 2 kayaks frequently and had no issues with them Having the washer and dryer was nice as we were able to wash all of our clothes before coming home We had plenty of space for the group with the bedrooms Disliked: The main entertainment room of the house and the dining room/reading area should be switched. With a group of 10 we couldn't watch the same show on the rain day as there wasn't enough room. The basement area was seldomely used as the TV reception was constantly buffering Kitchen was small, but it was advertised as such, so not shocking when we arrived The backyard grill was dirty and was out of propane so wet didn't use it The frontyard grill was clean but was also out of propane so we didn't use it. The john boat battery was dead upon arrival so we didn't use it but once, and that was with the oars Not reviewable: We did not use the pontoon during our stay Not mentioned online: After reading the house rules and guidelines upon arrival, it was made clear that any propane or fuel that was used during our stay was to be refilled upon departure. I can understand this rule in consideration of the pontoon, but not for the 2 gas grills, unless they were emptied by the guests
As advertised. A very cute, cozy and comfortable cabin on a beautiful inland lake. The cabin featured plenty of rooms, beds and elbow room. The grounds were well kept and the additional use of the pontoon boat, kayaks and other water toys added to an overall pleasant vacation. We would highly recommend this property as a good value.
Pontoon boat, paddle boat, and kayaks were a great added bonus for the kids. House was clean and just the right amount of TVs to keep the kids outside.
We had a fun week at the cabin, even tho the weather was bad there was plenty to do in the area, we enjoyed the use of the boats
Every summer our family finds a cottage to spend a week together relazing, swimming, fishing and juat hanging out. The cottage on Heart Lake met all of our needs. The only drawback was the fish were not biting. The cottage had ample room for all members of our family. We enjoyed our evening boat rides around the lake and appreciated that the boats were included with the rental.
Overall the place was beautiful and relaxing. The bed in the upstairs bedroom was too stiff and the grill was very dirty also the fishing was not good,
Property is exactly as advertised, and it was so amazing to have to variety of boats - especially the Pontoon. Kitchen is tiny, but it was great to have the prep station right outside the door. Beautiful, quiet lake, and spotless property. It accommodated 9 of us with no problem!
We throughly enjoyed our stay and would recommend your property! Plenty of space to accommodate 14 people! Wonderful view of the lake!! Spent most of our time on the back porch! Enjoyed all of the boats, swimming, fishing & relaxing on the deck!! Beautiful sunsets!! Beautiful setting!! Highly recommend!!
Perfect house, very nice clean and deep lake - everyone enjoyed! Many thanks to the owners for the opportunity!
This place was absolutely fantastic! Plenty of room for the 12 family members. Everything was labeled as to where it needed to be stored. Boats and Kayaks were stored perfectly by the making it easier to store the boats by the dock
We had an amazing time at this location. The property, grounds, beach, everything was just perfect. It is a well stocked house with lots of kitchen utensils available for our sizable group. We hope to stay again next year!
