Wonderful, comfortable bungalow in a great neighborhood; Bay has done a great job. It was a pleasure to stay there.
It was very clean, attractive and close to my daughter. There was a large flat-screen TV and access to Netflix...nice! The owner permitted my daughter to stock the fridge with groceries before we arrived; we are seniors and not going into grocery stores in summer 2020 because of COVID. There was an electric kettle, coffee maker and a couple of goodies were in the cabinet. The outdoor shower was very, very private and had plenty of warm water, shampoos, conditioners, body washes, etc.....nice!! BUT: The hot tub was an amenity that wasn't worth using; so many rules about it. Another rule was to leave dirty dishes in sink instead of washing=absurd! Smelly dishes in sink all night, a few feet from bed. Next day we were told to leave them in a bag on the outside table. We used the last of the supplied plastic bags for this. Emptying trash upon leaving the cottage was reasonable but we never had enough plastic bags for this chore. The owner said she would leave us more but she only left us ONE more. Oh, and no paper towels or napkins were supplied. No colander in the kitchen to wash grapes and no stopper for the drain to keep grapes from going down the drain. Most ridiculous was the rule that the full wall of shelved books was off-limits to us. We have stayed all over the world in all sorts of places and never have been told we couldn't even look at the books. Did the owner think we would steal them? Crazy! I think if you need a place only to sleep and for nothing else at all, this place is fine.
this is a beautiful property marred by an old sofa bed that does not close up, thereby taking up most of the primary living space and leaving no room in front of the television for seating. a very awkward arrangement that could easily be rectified. also, host wants shades drawn. this creates a dark and unwelcoming space.
Great !
a. The pull out bed took up all the living space with no space to sit and relax when not in bed. b. Bed is very uncomfortable and slopes downwards. c. Hot plate without anything to cook in is hardly commendable. d. Outdoor shower is not practical in chilly weather. We showered once and afterwards did so at a family members place. e. There should be guidelines established for people to be able to rent out places in private properties. Hotels certainly have such guidelines.
This property was easy to arrange. Location is quiet and accessible. Beautiful garden like setting was a welcomed respite at the end of our busy days in LA. We would rent again.
Everything was as listed. Bay couldn't have been nicer and the place was perfect! I would definitely go back.
We enjoyed our stay here... thank you Bay! Just a couple blocks from Venice Blvd., this is a great place for peace and quiet . I walk early mornings- it's about 2 1/4 miles for a stroll to the Venice Beach oceanfront. The pullout bed/ couch is very soft and comfortable. The patio is relaxing, and the hot tub and outdoor shower around back is peaceful, private and wonderful (even in 50 degree weather!). Bay is always available and ready to answer questions or suggest places to go. I would love to come back and stay here again the next time my wife and I are in LA.
Charming little guest house in a quiet neighborhood very convenient to Santa Monica and Venice beach. Walk to neighborhood restaurants. Bay is always available, but no hovering. Outdoor shower under the lemon tree sounds unusual, but was fun. Only caution: if you really, truly need a firm mattress, you’re going to be uncomfortable on the cloud soft bed. We enjoyed it. Thanks, Bay.
You will not be disappointed with this gem. Everything stated in the listing is exactly as is in person. The unit is very well kept and private. The outdoor shower and hot tub couldn't have been better. It's very clean, as mentioned private, and the landscaping is nothing short of beautiful. Bay is a great host and does a nice refresh of the unit doing the day. I especially got a kick out of her putting a fresh filter in the coffee pot each day for the next morning. It's little things like that I really enjoy and appreciate. I'm a walker/jogger so it's proximity to Venice Beach (2 miles) was a great way for me to stretch the legs and get in some cardio. There are plenty of little stores nearby to walk and grab snacks, drinks, or whatever you may need. It's proximity to other attractions and things to do couldn't have been better in my mind. Short Uber rides to the Farmers Market, Hollywood Blvd., West Hollywood, Beverly Hills, etc.... While I didn't use public transportation the bus line is close and offers connections to get just about anywhere you'd like to go. I decided to extend my stay (twice) and Bay was very accommodating as the unit (thankfully) was available. Absolutely no complaints and I would look forward to staying here again on my next trip!!! Thank you so much!!
