Stonington, Maine
Sweet Pea Cottage is an affordable and charming 3 bedroom cottage located just a few minutes walk to downtown Stonington & harbor. It comes with the use of four kayaks and gear located on the dock of our other cottage right on Stonington Harbor, about a 10-15 minute walk away, or few minutes drive (vrbo 30315) - including a parking spot and use of the grounds. It is just down the street from the popular Friday market. The cottage is more modest, yet warm and charming, decorated in a cozy-cottage style with simple antiques and collectibles - very clean, well supplied and surrounded by gardens and mossy-floored woodlands. Smart tv, high speed internet, outdoor seating, gardens, fire pit, gas grill, picnic table and tiny spring creek, too. Need more space. Consider adding attached rustic summer bedroom (2 twins for $25 plus $10/night). While not possessing a direct ocean view, a small path up behind the cottage leads to a hill top which has distant views out of Stonington Harbor, out beyond Isle au Haut, and over to the hills of Camden. Located on Rte 15A (the back side of the island) with quick and easy access to downtown or grocery store, harbor or only a 5 minute drive to nearby Sand Beach. With so much public oceanfront and wide-ranging activities nearby, Sweet Pea Cottage provides ability to enjoy the amenities of Deer Isle and Stonington, but at one of the most cozy and affordable area rentals!
Stonington was an amazing town and the Sweet Pea Cottage was perfect for friends and family.
We enjoyed staying at this vintage cottage within easy reach of all that this area of Downeast Maine has to offer. Hosts conveniently provided an additional parking spot very near the Isle au Haut ferry boat docks.
The location of the cottage, halfway between town and the Burnt Cove Market, is so convenient. The cottage itself is homey. The beds were each voted just right for sleeping by their occupants. Having a reserved parking spot and use of the kayaks in town was also handy. Aside from this, our hosts helped us find interesting local things to do while waiting a couple of days for the fog to go away, as it finally did. Sunshine! Island views!
The house was clean and well kept. It was comfortable and in a quiet location. Communication with the property owners was great.
The accommodations were both spacious and cozy. Smaller bedrooms but just right for one or two persons and beds and pillows were comfortable. A good washer and dryer was useful, as well as a large, well appointed kitchen. Close to the center of Stonington, with excellent restaurants. Day trips to other towns added variety. Barbara was attentive to our needs and most friendly.
I liked it, old school that reminded me of my great grandmother's place
Barbara's place was the perfect base for exploring Isle au Haut and Deer Isle. The house has the feel and charm of a family summer home. Everything we needed was there.
The house was cozy and felt like a visit to our grandparents home. The house had everything we needed. clean and well stocked. The washer/dryer was a great bonus. Location was close to town and Barbara offered parking at her home which helped. She was very helpful and quick to respond. We had a great time.
Rented the cottage for a wedding we had to attend near by. Barbara the host was a pleasure to work with. Would definitely rent from her agai.
Barbara was a very friendly helpful hostess and excellent communicator. The charming well supplied cottage is not far from the town. We loved using her kayaks around the beautiful harbor.
Everything was perfect! Short distance to Main St and what we were in town to do. Owner was great! Would definitely stay again.
I cannot speak highly enough about this VRBO. Exceptionally charming cottage within close walking distance to the downtown area. Very quiet and a BREATHTAKING view if you venture up through the backyard to the overlook. I enjoyed every minute of my time here. Barbara was a wonderful host and made superb recommendations for dining. I can't wait to return!
This is a cute cottage in a quiet residential neighborhood. The center of town is under a 3 minute drive. Town parking is very limited, but a parking spot is included near the center of town. Our family of 3 (adult daughter) enjoyed quiet family time while we waited out the rain. We didn't use the outdoor picnic table,, seating and grill, but they were inviting for better weather. A lovely trip!
Our location was fabulous to get to the ferry and Isle au Haut Owners were close by and we had fabulous kayaking as well as hospitality. Place is much cuter and spacious than we anticipated!
Centrally located, so close to everything. Lovely cottage, and hosts!
