Dauphin Island, Alabama
This historic cottage was built in 1950 on the earliest street on the island. It is fully remodeled with a large addition, screened porch and family friendly outdoor deck. The village center location affords an easy walk or bike ride to Shell Mound Park, the Goat Trees, beaches, parks, bakery and restaurants. Nestled beneath heritage oak trees, serenity abounds in quiet spaces throughout this vintage home.
A full kitchen adjoins a separate dining room. There are two living room areas with televisions. The larger has a second eating area with a wet bar and ice machine. One bedroom and full bath can be partitioned for privacy. In addition, the cottage has two more bedrooms, a pullout sofa, a second bathroom, and a half bath/laundry room. Outside, enjoy the screened front porch with wooden swing and wicker furniture. In back, the larger screened porch offers a teak table for outdoor dining and an additional conversation area. The newly expanded back deck provides a large space for outdoor activities, including an enclosed outdoor shower, picnic table and grill. A covered spacious stainless steel table and hot/cold water sink double as a wet bar or ample space to clean the day’s catch. On a rainy day, little ones can enjoy the large chalkboard and play area under the back porch.
It’s very clean house and very friendly owner I will use again if I go
I would recommend this property for a quick getaway.
Stayed a few days at Dauphin Island and really enjoyed this beach cottage. It's only a few blocks from the beach and accessible to everything on the island. Owners were very responsive and helpful with any request. Great place to stay if wanting a laid back stay on the island.
We love this place! It was our first time at Art & Soul but we will definitely be back. The property is adorable and has so much character. The owner was very nice and answered my questions promptly.
We had a wonderful time staying at Mary's place! It is so charming and fit our needs perfectly. Mary was so helpful and gave us several helpful tips about the island that made our trip perfect! I would definitely recommend Mary's place to anyone!
Had a wonderful time. Will visit again
We had such a great time, endured tropical storm Claudette… cozy house, slept the best we have all slept in awhile.. And there is everything you could possibly need.. Definitely stay again or recommend this place Art and Soul,
We had the opportunity to spend 3 nights here and will absolutely return for our next trip. The location is central to the island activities and a quick walk to lots of activities. Our youngest was able to complete his virtual coursework via zoom with fantastic connection. The back screened porch was perfect and we were all thrilled with the hammock, grill and outdoor shower as well. The hosts have bikes and beach chairs available that reduced our packing. Two separate cooling systems made keeping everyone content and the kitchen is well stocked and sparkling clean. The spaces were thoughtfully decorated and this is very much a home, not just a condo rental.Even the landscaping is freshly updated and lovely.Reserve this listing with confidence.I look forward to spending more time here with my family.
We came down for a May family celebration and we had everything we needed in Mary's beautiful home. This is one you definitely want to stay at.
The cottage was just what we needed for our family. It gave everyone separation and privacy. The house was fully stocked with any item you may have forgotten. It is not directly on the beach but conveniently located in the center both directions. We were just two houses down from the bakery and walking distance of many shops. Beautifully decorated and access to beach items that were very helpful. We would definitly stay again.
