Quiet relaxing atmosphere

We spent the weekend and only left to get more bait. The host made us feel very well taken care of and was a pleasure to work with. She was very accessible, although everything we needed was already there. Can't wait to return!

Such a special property and an amazing thoughtful host! My favorite feature of the property was the historic charm and lakefront views. Adding to the experience were thoughtful welcoming touches by our host like snacks for humans and our pups with a handwritten welcome note. So sweet. The screen porch across the entire back of house was amazing. We enjoyed watching the deer grazing in the morning & the birds singing. If you treasure the simple meaningful things in life rent FishHook cottage - you will be so glad you did!

Debbie was very welcoming, including leaving delicious pastries and snacks for us to enjoy. The house is beautiful and the setting is exceptional. The inside of the house is gorgeous and comfortable. The screened deck that overlooks the water is beautiful. We had no problems figuring out how to use the amenities. The neighborhood feels very safe and is quiet. Communication with Debbie was great. I would definitely stay here again!!

Excellent location, well appointed and clean. My elderly dog was so happy and grateful to be at lake and enjoy nature. It was a long ride but well worth it. Would stay there again.

Fish Hook is a picturesque cabin on the lake. It is cozy and tranquil. The location is perfect for easy access by boat and a quick drive to the grocery store or town. The cabin was perfect for our family of 5. We loved the fire pit for s’mores and the porch for morning coffee. We will definitely be back!

We enjoyed our stay! The porch is fantastic! It provides a nice view of the lake and of local wildlife. We saw deer and herons.The bed in the primary bedroom is surprisingly comfortable. The kitchen was stocked with everything we needed and more.It is very quiet there, perfect for a getaway.

The whole process was streamlined and easy. You can tell they've been at this a while. The place was clean, the beds were comfortable, and communication was prompt, friendly, and clear.We didn't catch many fish, but my son managed to reel in a decent-sized catfish. Next time we do this, we'll definitely consider staying here again.

We could not have been more pleased with this cabin directly on Lake Lanier! Everything from the kindness of the host, to the quaintness and peacefulness of the property, was exactly what we were looking for. We hope to return again because we had zero complaints.

We fell in love with the peacefull, lake setting of this inviting cabin. We had designated FishHook as our place to stay during our return visits to Gainesville. It reminds us of bygone days of Lanier Lanier and is located on a beautiful cove.Our Cavalier, Grayson loves it as well.Check in is easy and Debbie is amazing.

Perfect location to get away for the weekend. The only downside was our boat was a little large for the driveway as it was difficult to turn it around once pulled in. The house itself was beautiful and clean. Lake access was easy and we enjoyed our stay immensely! Can’t wait to come back!!

Top notch communication with the hostess and the cottage is easy to find. Location is off the beaten path but convenient to Downtown Gainesville, Helen, and Dahlonega. Kroger and Starbucks are 2 miles away. Bedding is comfortable and the cleanliness is excellent. Beautiful brick flooring, open ceiling, and a screen door that took me back to my childhood. A great place to relax and enjoy nature. This was our granddaughter’s first Christmas and we were blessed to get to share it with her in this beautiful cottage.

Fish Hook is the ultimate Glamping experience! The property is very picturesque with a rustic feel and luxurious amenities. We were able to unwind, relax, refresh as well as explore lots of places nearby. Wish we could have stayed longer than just a weekend but grateful for the time spent there. What a GEM!!

This is a special place. it’s so private and quaint. My husband and I enjoyed our time with our baby. The decor makes you feel like you’re at the mountains. This is exactly what we wanted. the home is clean and the kitchen is well equipped. The screened porch was perfect for our baby. If you’re looking for a quiet lake cove with beautiful lake views, this is THE place. Look no further. The host was also very accommodating when we decided to extend our stay. I highly recommend it.

We had a great time at the Fish Hook! It's such a charming cabin on the lake. The dock is wonderful for laying in the sun. We took our boat and was able to fish and simply rest and relax. I highly recommend. The owner, Debbie, was extremely friendly and had a wonderful response time. We took our Labrador and he loved it too!

If I could imagine a simple cottage on the lake, FishHook would fill in every detail. From the moment you drive onto the property you are greeted by comfort & beauty. Every room in the home has been thoughtfully organized and designed for rest & relaxation. We have stayed at several cabins over the years, and the detail that sets FishHook apart from the others is the way it has been cared for. This was particularly true in the kitchen. Debbie has not filled it with a bunch of leftover pots/dishes that sort of work. She has filled the kitchen with appliances that work, dishes that make you feel like your meal tastes even better, and knives that actually slice. :) I know that may sound silly, but it is the difference from a cabin feeling like a rental to being your home away from home. The other attention to detail that I must note is the dock & upper deck. Because of the material they choose, you can walk on the deck without your feet being burned and without any worries about splinters. The lounge chairs and table are perfect for a meal by the water! Finally, Debbie was the perfect hostess. From the first moment of interaction on VRBO, she was kind and thoughtful. She didn't hesitate to answer a question and made sure we had what we needed. We had to drag ourselves away from FishHook. It was truly the perfect spot for our family.

Went to Fishhook for a weekend getaway with my husband. The property is beautiful and the house had everything we needed. Debbie was very communicative, a great hostess. The weather wasn’t good so we hope to come back when we can enjoy the lake and the fabulous dock more!

The property was exactly as pictured and described. The quite beauty of the foothills and lake was magnificent. We enjoyed the sound of silence. Debbie let us know that she was always available to answer questions and resolve any challenges. We had questions, but never a challenge. I highly recommend this property and this hostess.

We had a great time fishing, paddle boarding, kayaking, and hanging out on the 2-story dock! It was very quiet and we will be back!

We absolutely loved this lake house and didn't want to leave! We pretty much lived on the screened in porch for the view to the lake. The kids loved going down to the dock and the view from the porch was perfect to keep an eye on them. We swam and fished off the dock and had a great time. The house was immaculately clean, very impressive. Debbie was very communicative, which was great. We will be back next summer!

Our family loved relaxing at FishHook! Our kids enjoyed fishing and swimming off the dock, and the adults loved relaxing by the water. Debbie is a wonderful host - excellent communication and very thoughtful. We hope to be back soon!
