Check in was seamless and Richard was very helpful. Small hiccup on the original cottage but Richard was able to make things right and moved us to a different cottage. All was well. Very close to Beaufort and great views.
We loved staying in this cottage. It was so peaceful and quiet. We sat on the back porch every morning with our coffee and two dogs watching the yachts and trawlers go by. some waved as we waved to them or they blew their horn. Loved every minute we were there. Caught a red drum and ate it and it was delicious. I Want to go back this fall for another stay.
We booked this last minute for our family of 4. We knew we really just needed a place to shower and sleep as we would be enjoying the crystal coast with beaching and both day fishing and night fishing. It worked well for us. The boat dock is beside cottage and made boating so easy. The covered porch was perfect for enjoying a morning cup of coffee and watching the boats cruise the ICW. After checkout I realized I had left something small I sent a text and a few days later it arrived in the mail.
This was our second visit to this property and we enjoyed it as much as the first time. After checking in at the office, we were greeted by the owner Richard as we were unloading. He gave us lots of restaurant ideas for the week. Will and Lisa were both very helpful during the week and at checkout. This little fishing cottage is all you need to enjoy some time on the waterway. An easy drive to Beaufort, Morehead City and Atlantic Beach where you will find plenty of food and shopping along with beautiful beaches. We would recommend taking the ferry over to Cape Lookout National Seashore. Hopefully we can get back for another visit in the future. Thank you for an amazing week!
My husband and I enjoyed our short time at the Fishing Cottage. Nestled along the waterway, it was fun watching the boats sail by during breakfast.
The home was small but as expected. Was a beautiful property right on the water.
Thoroughly enjoyed my visit. This quiet cottage was perfect for my kayaking and fishing itches. The waterfront is just steps from the door, and the fishing pier and boat launch are right next door. Beautiful views of the Intercoastal from the rocking chairs on the back porch. Hosts were helpful and pleasant.
We booked our stay at the cottage because of its convenient location on the ICW. The cottage is as pictured and described. The owner kindly let us put our boat in before check in. We came back mid morning to get our keys (office was closed when we arrived). We did a walk-through with the owner and back to the office to pay for the slip for the boat and bed linens (I missed that they weren’t included). We were also given an inventory checklist to complete by end of day. Literally a checklist down to how many forks there were... For as much as we paid for the weekend, we felt like this was a bit extreme and it felt like homework on what was supposed to be vacation. We were also notified of a second walk-through on Saturday since the office attendant was “off on Sunday.” So mid-morning Saturday as were getting ready, we go through another walkthrough. Sunday morning rolls around and we’re notified of a “final walkthrough” to ensure “nothing is missing” and that we get our deposit back. It just felt accusatory as if we were going to take something or messed something up when sadly, we were barely there. Again, a great place if you just need a place to stay, keep your boat, and if you don’t mind the in-and-out traffic from the staff and RV park directly beside you. The ICW is perfect for fishing and just a short boat ride to Morehead and Beaufort. We, personally felt we could get more bang for our buck elsewhere.
We had the most relaxing stay! Sitting on the front porch and watch the boats come and go was just amazing! Then to have a shrimp boat show up at the dock was the topper! All of the people were great and so very friendly! The best part was when the shrimp boat came in they were so nice and gave us a whole pot of FRESH shrimp! The best I ever had! Thank you so much for for letting stay here!
