Stayed Dec 26, 2018The location is great with stunning views from the terrace. It is right next to a bar-restaurant with one of the best panoramic views on the island. It is 10 minutes away from the picturesque village of Fornalutx and from Sóller, among olive and orange and lemon trees. A paradise for hikers or people looking for a retreat. The house is very well looked after and presented. There are many places to sit in the sun and you can even cook outside and have a BBQ. All in all a pleasant stay in one of the most scenic areas of Mallorca.

Stayed Dec 5, 2017We have just had a lovely stay in Es Mirador. The house is nice decorated, and with everything you need for a perfect holiday. The mountains views are fantastic, and the village Fornalutx, with a bakery and supermarket, cafes and restaurants is in 5 minutes with the car. This area is a great spot for hiking, sight seeing, and exploring some of the most beautiful areas in Majorca. Anything you need to know or have a problem with, the property manager Ania was more than willing to help. She was friendly and efficient. I would recommend this property, and for sure will come back.

Stayed Dec 31, 1969We had a very nice time in this house. The photos are accurate and it is a good value for money. Upon arrival, the house was spotless and had everything we needed for our stay. They even left us some goodies to start things off including fresh bread and a bottle of wine which was a very nice touch. Some of our favorite things about the place were the outdoor kitchen (cook all of your meals out there - even move the coffee maker out there in the morning!), and the electric orange juicer (buy lots of oranges!). The restaurant down the road has amazing views and great food so recommend spending one of your meals there and you can walk home afterwards in three minutes. We did a lot of hiking and there are several trail heads right next to the restaurant. The trail head right after the restaurant (on the right - a small wooden arrow marks the trail) breaks off in two directions about 20 mtrs from the road. You can walk downhill in the direction of Fornalutx in a little less than an hour, and Soller in just over an hour. Right before you come to the restaurant, there is another trail head that leads you to Cala Tuent. I would have loved to have done this hike as I hear you can lunch there and then they have an afternoon pick up boat for hikers back to Port de Soller. We just ran out of time. You can get the map and more info from the tourist office next to the train station in Soller if you are interested in that hike. This property is at the top of a steep road that zigzags out of Soller for about 20 minutes by car. I knew this area when booking and chose it as we wanted something quiet and remote that had an outdoor kitchen, that was near the trail heads. We did have a moment of panic as we arrived on a Saturday afternoon and there were dozens of moterbikes racing up and down the road extremely loudly. We walked down to the restaurant to ask more about them and they told us that it is common on a Saturday but the rest of the week would be quiet. This proved to be true. The rest of the week was fine. If you do stay here on a Saturday, recommend getting out and about on a Saturday - and staying out into the early evening for dinner even. The property manager dodged our questions about the noise when we arrived and were worried, and she also didn't know much about using the appliances. We reached out, and the next day the owner Catalina stopped by and walked us through everything - she was lovely and with that we were settled in and enjoying.

Stayed Dec 31, 1969I really enjoyed this suite! It was super cute, modern and very clean. We are a family of 4 and had more than enough room to move around. It was great having the kitchen , we were able to make some of our own meals. Very close to amenities which is nice if you arent familiar with Kelowna like us, there is so much to do within blocks. Right by the lake, parks, stores and many other things. The owner was very kind and helpful. We will definitely be back!

Stayed Dec 31, 1969The cottage was as described on the Web. Catalina is to be found daily in the Spar minimarket on Fornalutx town square, she speaks excellent English and was the oracle of information whenever needed. She took us up to the cottage, which we found clean, well maintained and well appointed. There is a restaurant within 100 metres of the front gates, with a breathtaking view from their terrace. The nearest shopping however is back in Fornalutx, a 4km drive down the hill. There, Catalina’s shop has everything you need, including wines and spirits. Her prices are competitive, so there is no need to go further afield for groceries. Although in reality only a large village, Fornalutx has a couple of good restaurants and a number of bars and cafes, which cater for all tastes. For the energetic there is a good off-road footpath from the villa down to those delights. If you wish to leave the car (or bike) behind and have an “easy ride”, use shanks’ pony to the excellent “bar next door”, although it was closed on the Monday night when we were there. We visited in mid May which for us was “bug free” and a beautiful time of year, with the weather “just right”. We were able to eat all our meals al fresco and laze away the day on the terrace well into late evening. There is also a complete “kitchen area” outside including wood fire cooking, charcoal BBQ and gas hob, plus a sink with hot and cold running water – we prepared most of our meals there. To get hot water upstairs it is necessary to coax life from the gas boiler out the back but hot water is always available without any effort in the downstairs bathroom. The villa is ideally located as a base to explore the Tramuntana Mountains, being right in the middle of the same. The energetic trio of our number took the footpath from the adjacent Mirador Ses Barques for the easy walk down to Port Soller, and arrived there just over an hour later for refreshments on the promenade and a swim off the sandy beach. On another day our more intrepid member started at the same point but trekked northeast following the cliffs overlooking the coast to an unspoilt beach about 2km west of Sa Calobra. The rest of us met him there with the car, in true Hemingway style in a delightfully tumbledown shack bar. We’d have no hesitation in recommending this accommodation as an ideal if secluded base for hikers, cyclists, bikers and motorists – it is not however for somnolent teenagers, party animals or beach bums.
