Such a cute property, and very well-located. Would love to stay here again next time we're in the area!

Start with the basics - clean property (meticulous, in fact), quiet area, convenient to downtown Ballard (20-minute stroll), easy parking. But the real story is the attention to detail - the delighters that you encounter in various aspects of the property. Choice of pillow firmness - really! Well-stocked kitchen, including a range of spices for any cooking need. Comfortable living area with a great sensory audio welcome upon arrival. A welcome tray on the bed and plush robes await you upstairs - perfect after a long day of travel. This was our second visit to The Earl and we hope there are more in our future. Great place, fabulous hosts!

Full disclaimer: I didn't stay here - I reserved it for 2 adult family members who flew in from Tennessee but I am going to paraphrase what they told me.When they checked in the first night they immediately texted me and said This place is really great!Throughout the weekend they commented on how beautiful the interior is, how well located it is, how easy it was to park, and how peaceful the actual setting is, even though it is close to Ballard which is a very lively part of Seattle, and that it has everything they needed and wanted. (Morning run to the beach, walk to coffee, great retail stores, coffee shops, and restaurants.)When I asked them what to write in the review they immediately said It was everything we wanted! The only downside was that they had hoped to see the host or host family, because they wanted to tell them how much they were ejoying their carriage house.I told them that some guests maybe don't want to interact with the hosts, but they guests are from the South, so.... ;-) NOTE: All of my communications with Virginia were prompt, clear, and detailed, and her many suggestions were very helpful.

This location is the perfect combination of a quiet neighborhood, yet with easy access to the fun districts of Ballard, Fremont, and beyond.

My husband and I had three nights to enjoy this little gem in Ballard. You will want for nothing if you are lucky enough to also stay. Virginia has generously provided great toiletries, kitchen and food items, laundry detergent, and more. It is comfortably furnished with a cabin-y feel, enhanced by the little gas stove heater, dark wood trim, and antique doors, making everything attractive and solid feeling. At the end of their driveway (exclusive to you) it nonetheless feels very private and is super quiet. While there are lots of windows, the natural light is not great for reading, so I second another reviewer's suggestion for a lamp by the couch. Seattle restaurants are NOT cheap, so a recommendation is Maggie Bluffs, a casual but good restaurant at the marina (near the cruise lines), at the bottom of Magnolia bridge. Tricky to find but worth the trip and tables always available. Thank you Virginia for creating our sweet home away from home! We had a great stay :-)

Lovely little home, very functional layout and beautiful build quality. The bed is like a cloud - I’ve never slept so well in a stay-away bed. We hosted family for brunch and Virginia, the host, brought over a leaf for the table and an extra chair. Parking spot off the street is a great perk, too. The neighborhood is single-family homes and sidewalks - getting hard to find in Seattle. We walked to the park that overlooks Shilshole marina to work off the cinnamon rolls we grabbed from Piccolino’s bakery for the brunch. Great restaurant for dinner, as well. We would like to just move in. ;-)
