We stayed at the home for an event that was in town. The home was clean, and the photos were accurate. While we were not there for lake activities, the lake provided a beautiful view from the home. Convenient location between Kalkaska and Traverse City.
We enjoyed swimming and boating in the lake and sitting in the private yard with beautiful views. We also appreciated each room inside the house; everyone could find a comfortable corner to do what s/he wanted. The clue game set was a hit for the children.
This property could use some work. Pretty worn out. Good amenities and great location
We really enjoyed our stay! Rorie was kind and responsive to our questions. The house has everything we wanted. It is spacious and a great open layout for hosting a get together. We liked the 2 bedrooms and bath on the first floor and then another 2+ bedrooms and another bath upstairs. It was a great set up for our 2 families totaling 9 people and could have comfortably fit more guests. The decor is quaint and beachy, adding to a relaxing ambiance. We enjoyed a campfire in the backyard and the gorgeous lake views, and went swimming off the sandy beach - the water was calm, clear, and warm. We never made it onto the canoe, but we thought that sounded fun. The kitchen has everything we could have wanted. We appreciated the little details like soap, dish detergent, laundry detergent, paper towel, aluminum foil etc that made the set up function like home - a sign of a thoughtful host. We enjoyed visiting Sleeping Bear Dunes (about 1 hour away), Traverse City (30 min away), and rented a pontoon on Torch Lake (20 min away). There is a Meijer 10 min down the road, which was helpful for a grocery run. We would look forward to returning. Thank you for a great stay!
Dreamy Lake Skegemog Retreat was all the title implies but so much more. The home is amazing and in a gorgeous location. The home and property is well equipped with anything we could have possibly needed or wanted. The beach is great and safe for small children to swim and play. There is a boat dock and we were able to rent a pontoon for part of our stay from a family owned business on the Torch River. Rorie our host was very kind and attentive and answered all of our questions from the time we made our reservation and all the way through our stay. There were so many things to keep our grandchildren busy - the pool table and PacMan arcade being two of the favorites. The home is very unique and so much time and attention went into making it a very special place to vacation. The beds were comfortable and the furniture through the entire home was beautiful. The surrounding area is amazing from Elk Rapids to Traverse City and so much more. We would definitely recommend this rental.
Neighbors were super friendly, and the view was incredible! What a beautiful way to kick off the summer in Northern Michigan. Thank you to Rorie for answering any questions I had! Would definitely stay again.
Overall the house was okay. When checking in a door was left unlocked so we got into the property without using the lock code. It was for the most part clean. Definitely had a few spider webs in corners and the microwave was not wiped down out all. There were few ants in the kitchen. There is the strong smell of eggs ( the sulfur smell) when using the water…. Washing dishes, showers. Had to go buy jugs of water to wash dishes. There was a mouse. I physically saw the mouse run out from the fridge and run back underneath. I did call the number they gave and they did send someone over with mouse traps 1 hr later. They did NOT catch the mouse at all. When I took out the trash there were mouse droppings under the sink. If I would have known about the water smell and the mouse…. I wouldn’t have stayed there. I get the house is in the wooded area…. But still I had my 18 month old running and rolling around the floor plus my 3 months old bottles on the kitchen counter. Just wasn’t for me and my family. It was a beautiful view of the lake and there was plenty of space for the amount of people.
Family and I wanted a little get away. This place was great and we all enjoyed the house
We had a wonderful time during new year Hollidays. The house was very clean, warm and cozy. I was worried that it might be cold, but no, heater works great and furnace provides extra warmth and coziness. Rooms on the second floor are very cute, kids absolutely loved them! Pool table was an unexpected pleasant surprise for us. The view was fantastic. Decent distance to skiing destinations. Overall highly recommend!
Accurate description of property. Clean house and beautiful view. Had a great time with family. House has steep steps and may be difficult for some to use, but has main level rooms.
