On the minus side, the towels were not clean, were stained and smelly. Also the bed linen, although freshly laundered stains were evident. In the kitchen only one 'J' cloth was all that was available to wash up with, no brush or scourer pads were left for us to use. The steamer pots had not been properly washed - evidence of broccoli noted. Only one black bag was left for refuse - we utilised the blue sacks instead. Some of the wine glasses had not been washed, where evidence of white wine residue was noted in the champagne flutes. Mould was evident in the utility room freezer, and had to be washed prior to use - it was also noted that the top compartment lid hinge on the right hand side is broken. On the plus side, there was plenty of hot water, all of the appliances worked well and Mary Berry's Aga cook book was a must have - all the recipes tried were very good! Plenty of utensils and cooking pots, crocks & etc were in good condition and much appreciated. The overall status of the property was good, and the location great for views over the river. Garden is well maintained, although the petrol hedge trimmer became tiresome after a few hours during the gardener's visit on our 1st week. It was noted that the path and steps through the garden were slippery when wet, indeed one of our guests slipped and fell on the metal drain cover. Hope this goes forward for improvements where necessary for the benefit and comfort of your future guests. T Stokes. 5th October 2019
