This was our second stay in the house which we find homely, with plenty of space for a group or family. It has lovely views, is well equipped, clean, and has comfortable beds and sofas, perfect for a relaxing break away. We have found the host to be responsive and helpful in our correspondence.

A lovely three bedroom home off the beaten track. If you enjoy country lane and beach walks, serious hiking, or national parks, this is an excellent base from which to explore the area, away from most other tourists.

A beautiful, clean and comfortable house - perfect for a relaxing stay. Communication with Mary, the host, was excellent throughout. Check-in and out was seamless. There are sea views towards Tory Island from the back of the house, which is a short and easy drive to Dunfanaghy main street.

Very well equipped and located spacious cottage. All you would need for a home from home feel, down to plenty of fresh towels and crockery. Very comfortable living area. We stayed as a couple with our dog but the property seemed well equipped for a large family. Perfect for visiting the area, only a few minutes from Falcarragh and Dunfanaghy with easy access to several stunning dog-friendly beaches with parking and a large forest park. Hosts were very welcoming and informative. Really enjoyed our stay, thank you!

The house has 4 good sized bedrooms, the 2 on the 1st floor are both ensuite. I enjoyed many a morning upstairs sitting at the window with my cuppa enjoying the countryside views. It rates high for cleanliness and nice comfy beds and bedding. The owner Mary is very considerate with sending helpful messages of places to visit for both wet and dry days if required. This was our 2nd holiday in this property and we would highly recommend it to anyone wishing to stay in this area.

We stayed at Ballyboes Cottage for Christmas and New Year’s 2025 and were delighted by the warm, bright and cosy atmosphere of the house. On top, we were extremely pleased that Mary, the host, had not only decorated the house nice and Christmassy, but also left a gift basket. Arrival was like coming home!During a ten day stay with 4 adults, 1 child and our dogs all of us were enjoying the spaciousness of the house and the cosiness of the living room. The panoramic and wide view of the house permits to observe the ever changing weather conditions with the corresponding beautiful colour games. The beds are very comfortable, so is the availability of three bathrooms . All installations are in perfect condition. The kitchen is spacious and well equipped, the dish washer and washing machine of highest quality. Mary surprised us with her extraordinary kind and supportive way, her great recommendations concerning the area and her immediate and uncomplicated availability in case of questions. We passed 10 unforgettable days at Ballyboes Cottage and could highly recommend it.

Plenty of room in the property and location was grand. Nicely decorated for Christmas with a treat hamper provided Kitchen well stocked with dishes, pots and pans etc but a bit lacking in things like condiments etc which we have usually had in other properties we’ve stayed in. Felt like we were there end of season it needs a wee bit of a spruce up for next spring.

The view out the front windows is exceptionally bucolic. Fields, sheep, cows, farms, and a sliver of water off in the distance. I wish we had more time to sit and stare.... The skylights upstairs were a star-sparkle delight, each night. There were 3 of us in a 4-bedroom house, so plenty of room. Downstairs living room and dining room very comfortable. small improvements: a chair in every bedroom, a covered microwave dish, a solar light at the end of the driveway--finding it at night was a challenge: Nice neighbors!! , and a load or two worth of laundry detergent. Based on the listing pictures of the beach, I thought we were much closer to the water. We did not see a beach--it was also hurricane force winds, so we didn't look! If that's my whole list of improvements, you know it's pretty great.

Great sized house for a family of 3 adults and 4 children to explore Donegal. The owner was great at providing property details and tips for where to eat and explore in the area. House was super cosy and spacious with a lovely garden for the kids to play.

The cottage was clean and a comfortable stay for our family while in Donegal. We enjoyed the view from the front of the house, and the farm animals that are in the fields. The area around the cottage is stunning with lots to see. The host was very helpful offering suggestions and letting us know what was in the area. We enjoyed our stay very much. We hesitate to give 5 stars only because we found the kitchen lacked some basic cooking supplies like salt and pepper, coffee, perhaps olive oil. While these are simple and basic and we were able to easily purchase them in town, our past experiences having these items available when we arrive was very helpful. One other note is that there is another cottage very close in the back and when others are there it lacks privacy. Fortunately during our stay this only happened for a couple days. But overall the cottage was enjoyable to stay in and allowed us to enjoy the beautiful Donegal. We thank Mary for making it available and for all her help during our stay.
