Giant signage outside advertising fireplaces and hot tubs. Seems like a cozy romantic getaway but my husband spent forever trying to get the fireplace going. There was no one to to contact for help. We eventually figured it was a lost cause since there were wires hanging from the unit. This is not a cheap place so having the fireplace broken isn't acceptable. There were also broken parts to the hot tub. There was no coffee and only one bowl for cereal. The bed was very comfortable but why not put a futon upstairs? Just two very awkward butterfly chairs. Overall I would say they put lipstick on a pig with the cute decor but it's not worth the money. Who has a 10 am checkout?!?! Just insane. We are owed a partial refund for our experience but you can't get ahold of anyone to talk to!
This house is in a gorgeous spot, right on the beach with a lovely hot tub where you can sit back and enjoy the view. That being said, the cottage is connected to another and there is less than zero insulation between the two units. You could hear the neighbor pee at night. At one point the neighbor said something and my husband responded thinking it was me. Second, the kitchen was missing a few very basic components such as a cutting board or more than one bowl (for a place that sleeps 4). The upstairs has a whole second bedroom but that is not outfitted as a bedroom, so is essentially useless. Seems like a missed opportunity to just add a futon. And finally, as we were trying to wash the dishes before leaving (there is no dishwasher) the sink started leaking underneath and backing up and draining on and off without any input. The maintenance company was very quick to respond which was great! Long story short - the location is unbeatable. If you are ok with hearing your neighbors every move and aren’t planning on using the kitchen then it is a perfectly comfortable cottage.
Beach property, couldn’t get much closer to the ocean or Pacific Coast Highway, very comfortable, even though close neighbors it was quiet. If staying for an extended stay and using the kitchen, could use some extra utensils and kitchen supplies- like a cutting board and bowls. Loved the location, lots to see and do.
Clean, comfortable place with amazing views. I wish we had more time there, this should definitely be a place you stay multiple nights!
We stayed in one of the remodeled units this time. Very nice! You can't beat the view or the beach access. Only suggestions would be to have steps for the hot tub and clean the picture window. The fireplace remote needs batteries too btw.
Loved the view, the cleanliness, the fireplace!, the location
The view and location is what makes this place amazing but the cottage when we arrived had not been swept or mopped and there was a broken chair. The people who text you to ask about your stay are very friendly. The walls are extremely and as a family with kids who tried to keep the sounds to a minimum it was still loud enough for our neighbors so if you have kids please be aware people will knock hard and the walls to get you to be quiet.
Excellent stay, very clean and comfortable. Great location with easy beach access and great view
Loved the living area and kitchen. Comfortable and convenient and so nice to see the ocean just a few yards from the cabin. We spent summers on this beach and 45 years ago stayed in this very cabin. It’s beautifully updated now! And the bed was so comfortable!
Perfect ocean front retreat for two!
Super-comfortable bed! The proximity to the ocean is unmatched, with amazing sunsets. Clean and comfortable overall.
beach access and view
Cozy cabin for our family
We had a great four night stay in the Cape Cod #3. Just walk out on the huge west facing deck with your favorite beverage at the end of the day and watch the sunset. The view is incredible! Beach access is right there like you own it. The cottage is well stocked with what you’ll need to cook your own meals and settle in. Beds aren’t too bad either. Couple drawbacks; - Deck had one school chair to use and nothing else. Why would there be a huge beautiful deck and no way to enjoy it. Bit of a fail. - The upstairs loft just has a TV and chair. Why not a single bed or futon? Seems like a real waste. - Main (only) bedroom faces the highway and can be a bit noisy, especially when it’s warmer and the window needs to be open. Could use a fan. - WiFi!!! Just so you know, we don’t just sit on our phones/computers and not experience life while on vacation. It reminds me of old dial up days, SLOW and buffering. These days fast WiFi is expected. Some need to download local maps for cycling and hiking. Some must make Skype calls for school or business. Or just look up what’s good in the area. I would consider this a deal breaker next time. Now the TV. Seeing how it’s connect to the slower than molasses internet, you can guess how frustrating it is to use. Regular stuff will actually freeze to buffer. So why have two? Cleanliness was ok but we did find a pair of old dirty socks in the pull out bed, gross. Still, beautiful place and location
